As Wade slowly lowered his hand, the air around him seemed to freeze in an instant.
Even the surrounding environment fell silent.
Only the whistling of the wind and the sound of waves crashing against the rocks remained.
A few seconds later, tiny points of fire began appearing across the azure sky.
“By the way, Tony, you already gave Rhodey a heads-up, right?”
Tony’s mechanical arm had already begun transforming.
He was preparing to use his shield to withstand the incoming impact.
“Of course.”
“Good.”
Wade’s eyes narrowed.
“Wouldn’t want to explain the ridiculous commotion later.”
With that, Wade suddenly swung his raised hand downward, as if throwing something from the sky.
The points of fire in the sky instantly accelerated, and dozens of tiny streaks of light descended toward the center of the island.
Each streak was a meteor.
They had come from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter, as well as asteroids drifting around Earth.
Judging by their size when they struck the ground, they weren’t particularly large—barely half a meter across.
Even so, watching meteor after meteor fall from the sky was still a magnificent and awe-inspiring sight, like countless drumbeats pounding across the island.
Loose rocks and dead branches scattered in every direction under the impact, repeatedly slamming into Tony’s shield.
Yet whenever those shockwaves reached Wade, they obediently curved around him.
The meteors shattered and vaporized upon hitting the ground.
Some hadn’t even completely broken apart before another meteor crashed into them.
They continued in a steady, orderly rhythm.
At the center of the impact zone, a pool of crimson, semi-fluid metal slowly began to form, growing larger with every passing moment.
“It should be about enough.”
After silently calculating the time, Wade waited until five minutes had passed before stopping.
When the final meteor crashed violently into the crater, which had already been blasted more than thirty meters deep, the meteor storm finally came to an end.
“Whoo.
It’s not the first time I’ve seen this, but watching it from this close still gives me chills.”
Tony slowly retracted his transforming shield.
The sheer might of the heavens was terrifying enough to leave anyone who witnessed it shaken.
“Let me see how much meteor iron we got.”
Tony was visibly excited.
The thrusters beneath his feet slowly lifted him into the air, giving him a clear view of the crater below.
At the very center of the crater, scattered meteor fragments lay around the edges.
Those were the impurities.
But in the very center was a small pool of crimson liquid metal.
That was what Tony had come for.
“Don’t rush.
This time, it’s a little different.”
Wade stretched out a hand to stop Tony from approaching.
As he spoke, Wade brought his hands together before suddenly slamming them against the ground.
In an instant, all the loose stones along the slopes sank downward.
At that moment, Wade altered the gravity in the surrounding area.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Watch it, Wade!”
Tony nearly lost his balance.
One of his feet had entered the area where Wade had altered the gravity.
“I’m preparing something good for you.
Don’t let me down.”
There was a hint of anticipation in Wade’s expression.
The surface of the crimson “pool” in the center of the crater sank several inches as well.
Under gravity several times stronger than normal, the meteor iron was further compressed.
“That should do it.”
Wade raised one hand and slowly curled his five fingers.
The molten meteor iron was instantly lifted into the air, eventually transforming into a roughly one-cubic-meter block of solid metal.
“Done.”
Wade let out a light breath of relief.
Under the control of his telekinesis, the metal block flew out of the crater and landed heavily beside Tony’s feet.
“This is meteor iron?”
Tony stared at the square block of metal in disbelief.
Unlike ordinary meteor iron after cooling and solidifying, its color was no longer that dull black.
Instead, it had taken on a faint starry-gray hue.
“This is what you get after further purifying a sufficient amount of meteor iron using extreme heat and pressure,” Wade explained.
“Its properties are the same as meteor iron, but its quality is considerably higher.”
“Of course, producing this requires a sufficient quantity of meteor iron as the foundation.”
An electromagnetic suction cup appeared on Tony’s mechanical arm, and he immediately used it to lift the metal block.
“This thing is actually this heavy?”
Tony was startled when JARVIS finished running the measurements.
Who would have thought that such a small block could weigh twenty tons?
“I’ve provided the material.
Now you’ll have to put in the effort.”
Wade smiled at Tony.
“You can use as much of the other materials as you need, but don’t forget about my suit.”
“Don’t worry.
I won’t.”
Tony’s expression became increasingly satisfied as he looked at the metal block.
Meteor iron was already an excellent material. Follow the newest chapters on novelping.com.
Yet somehow, Wade had managed to make it even stronger.
Tony genuinely couldn’t think of anything on Earth that would be more suitable for upgrading his equipment than the material in front of him.
“I think this metal needs a new name.”
Tony lightly tapped the metal.
A crisp sound rang out, almost like jade being struck.
“Agreed.”
Wade thought for a moment.
“I think Meteor Steel sounds good.”
“A little plain, but easy enough to understand.”
Tony held the Meteor Steel between both hands and slowly rose into the air.
He seemed rather excited.
“I can’t wait to see what I can create with this material.”
Wade looked Tony up and down.
“Looks like you’re having a little trouble carrying it.
Let me give you a push.”
He placed his palm against the back of Tony’s Mark 36.
The reduced gravity and evenly applied force sent Tony shooting forward.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Wade, that’s too much force!
I’m flying way too fast!”
Combined with the roaring thrusters and immense inertia, Tony shot forward at a speed far greater than his normal propulsion could achieve.
Only his faint voice remained in the air.
“Phew.
That’s one thing taken care of.
Now I have another big shot to deal with.”
Wade discreetly muted a certain incoming call.
Then he pushed off with both feet and leaped into the air.
Several dozen minutes later.
New York.
Inside a certain section of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s iconic Triskelion headquarters, a dark-skinned, bald man stared coldly at Wade.
For some reason, Wade felt that his expression seemed even darker than usual.
“Mr.
Wade.”
The dark-skinned, bald Nick Fury was nothing like the bald men at school who were easy to deal with.
His tone was filled with unmistakable displeasure.
“You and Stark—can the two of you please stop making my life difficult?”
He was clearly furious as he gestured with one finger.
“Five minutes.
An entire five minutes of meteor showers, all falling in the exact same location in the Caribbean Sea.
How exactly am I supposed to come up with an explanation for the Department of Defense and the military?”
