That was just Tony teasing Wade.

He also knew very well that the mutants aligned with Charles, Wade included, were generally the peaceful sort.

Besides, mutations in the genes weren’t something mutants could choose.Full novel: Marvel: I Am the Lord of the Stars — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was a natural selection process.

A normal form of evolution.

They were still human, and there was no racial difference between mutants and ordinary people.

“Come take a look at my progress so far.”

Tony set down his wine glass and walked over to the workstation.

With a casual wave of his hand through the air, a series of holographic screens appeared before them.

Two images were displayed on the screens.

The first was Tony’s latest armor.

Its design incorporated a large number of new concepts.

Thanks to the improved material, its overall size was more compact than the first generation, with a much more streamlined appearance.

Of course, this was only possible because of Meteorite Iron.

Otherwise, steel or even nanomaterials of this thickness would drastically reduce the armor’s defensive capabilities.

“As for the new armor, this is basically where I’m at.”

“After countless adjustments, I’ve redesigned every component and joint connection according to Meteorite Iron’s properties.”

“They’ll be able to maximize the armor’s overall performance.”

There was a hint of pride in Tony’s eyes.

He looked like a child showing off a prized creation.

Ever since he had shifted the focus of Stark Industries from weapons manufacturing toward renewable energy, he’d had much more time and energy to devote to developing his new armor.

“It’s really impressive.”

Wade’s eyes lit up.

The perfect combination of machinery and aesthetics was practically the dream of every hot-blooded man.

There was no doubt that once Tony became Iron Man, his combat power would be significantly greater than before.

“Pretty good, right?”

Tony grinned.

“Now take a look at the armor you asked me to build.”

He swiped his finger across the holographic display.

A completely different suit appeared before them.

Unlike Tony’s mechanical design, this one was more accurately described as armor.

Its overall style was rugged and imposing.

It wasn’t a full-body suit, nor did it contain any technological elements.

It simply protected most of the vital areas.

The upper arms and thighs, for example, were left completely exposed.

In return, it offered extremely high mobility.

“I could’ve easily built you an entirely new mechanical suit.”

Tony shook his head.

“This armor has extremely high defensive capabilities, but it won’t provide you with any assistance.”

“And it’s way too heavy.”

“You’re probably the only person who could actually use it.”

High defense was exactly what Wade wanted.

There was no doubt that the Marvel world was dangerous.

And many of those dangers couldn’t simply be avoided.

More and more enemies would inevitably arrive on Earth, forcing people into battles whether they wanted them or not.

Rather than sit around waiting for danger to come knocking, it was better to prepare in advance.

Besides, this armor was far more than Tony imagined.

“A mechanical suit actually isn’t suitable for me.”

Wade spoke softly.

“It’s not that I don’t trust your artificial intelligence.”

“It’s just that machinery would restrict my abilities.”

Tony shrugged.

“Whatever works for you.”

“If you ever need something, just tell me.”

“Besides, you helped me a lot with the design of the latest Mark 36.”

“Once I have enough material, I can put it straight into production.”

“So…

shall we go?”

Wade glanced at Tony.

“Same place as usual?”

“Yeah.”

Tony nodded.

“Besides, that island hasn’t been destroyed by you yet.”

With that, he walked toward the window.

Various components began appearing across the floor.

Within moments, the iconic red-and-gold Iron Man armor had assembled itself around his body.

“I’m heading out first.”

The electronic voice came from inside his helmet.

“Otherwise, you’ll start nagging me again in a few minutes.”

“Oh, and don’t forget your stealth device.”

“I don’t want the Department of Defense coming after me again later.”

He pointed toward the watch-like device on Wade’s wrist.

The armor’s palms and feet suddenly blasted powerful streams of air.

Tony’s entire body shot into the sky like a meteor and disappeared from Wade’s sight.

Hmm…

Has his speed gotten even faster?

As expected, Tony’s brain really was naturally suited for invention and creation.

Wade walked over to the window.

He tapped the watch on his wrist with one finger.

Invisible ripples immediately spread across his entire body.

The device could block scans from conventional detection equipment while also creating a visual camouflage effect, effectively rendering him invisible.

Before he had this device, Wade couldn’t use his full speed without restraint.

“Good thing Tony reminded me.”

“Otherwise, Fury would’ve had another talk with me.”

God only knew how much trouble Fury had gone through cleaning up after Wade’s abilities.

After all, S.H.I.E.L.D.’s job was to deal with these “extraordinary” incidents and make sure the public could continue believing that the world was peaceful and safe.

Once his stealth system was activated, Wade lightly tapped his toes against the ground.

His entire body strangely began to float.

He had altered the gravitational force acting on himself, allowing him to almost completely escape Earth’s pull.

His body became incredibly light.

Then, by changing the direction of the force acting on himself, he could achieve extremely high-speed movement.

Gravity.

Repulsion.

Mental will.

Psychic power.

Strength.

Speed.

Life.

And celestial manipulation.

These things formed the foundation of Wade’s power system.

And this was only the beginning.

With Wade and Tony’s flying speeds, reaching their destination didn’t take long.

Ten minutes was more than enough.

Their destination was a private island in the Caribbean Sea.

The island wasn’t particularly impressive.

Its infrastructure was basic, and the environment wasn’t especially good.

But it was large enough.

Large enough for Wade to bring down as many meteors as he wanted.

After landing, Tony looked at the enormous crater in front of him.

A series of electronic calculations flashed through his mind.

A moment later, Wade gently descended beside him.

“According to my calculations, this meteor shower can continue here for about five minutes.”

Tony looked at the island.

“If it goes beyond that, this entire island is going to sink.”

“Hopefully, we get enough material.”

“Okay.”

Wade didn’t waste any time.

“Then I’ll start.”

“Make sure you’ve got your defenses ready.”

As he spoke, Wade slowly raised his hand.

He held it in the air for several seconds.

Then—

He suddenly pushed his palm downward.
