Could the God of Thunder actually catch a cold?

Wade thought the possibility was rather unlikely.

Thor had spent countless years fighting on the battlefields of the Frost Giants.Full novel: Marvel: I Am the Lord of the Stars — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

His powerful physique was more than enough to withstand all kinds of extreme cold.

Coulson seemed unable to watch any longer.

He ordered the agents to carefully approach Thor and bring him out of the sandpit.

At the same time, he instructed someone to investigate the identity of the strange blond man.

The dejected Thor was unusually quiet this time.

He didn’t resist.

His wet hair hung over his shoulders, and even after sitting down in a chair inside the observation room, he showed no intention of talking to anyone.

An agent hurried over to Coulson.

“Sir, his identity isn’t in our database.

However, it seems he escaped from a nearby psychiatric hospital.”

“…”

Coulson’s gaze toward Thor became even more sympathetic.

“Just as I thought.

He’s someone who’s suffered psychological trauma.

Let him rest here for a while.

Once he’s calmed down, we’ll let him go.”

“Still, how did he get that kind of ability?”

It was no wonder Coulson thought Thor was a little abnormal.

After all, they were the most elite organization currently operating on Earth.

(Hydra: ???)

No organization, no plan, and not even the slightest preparation.

This blond man had simply charged straight into their temporary research base.

Did he think the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division was just for show?

The agent looked somewhat embarrassed.

“But sir, it seems the reason he was admitted to the hospital wasn’t because he had a mental disorder.

He was actually hit by a group of astronomy researchers.”

Coulson: “???”

“Because there wasn’t a better hospital nearby, they took him to the psychiatric hospital.

We’ve already confirmed the identities of those astronomy researchers.

There’s nothing suspicious about them.

They came from the surrounding area to study that hammer.”

“What exactly is going on here?”

Coulson rubbed his forehead before glancing at Wade.

“Should we try recruiting that blond guy?

Maybe he’s a mutant.

With his physical abilities, he’d definitely be a valuable addition to S.H.I.E.L.D.”

What a truly loyal, righteous, and brilliantly calculating Coulson.

Wade’s expression became extremely strange.

His gaze was so unsettling that Coulson felt a chill run down his spine. Visit g.com for the full chapter.

“Trust me.

If you try to modify him, brainwash him, or do anything like that, his father will beat you to death.”

Odin.

Thor’s father.

A peak Skyfather-level powerhouse.

When he donned the Destroyer armor and wielded the Eternal Spear, Gungnir, gathering all his power, he could reach the level of a single universe.

A legendary figure from mythology.

He had exiled Thor simply to correct the flaws of his future successor and help him develop the qualities a king should possess.

If something really happened to Thor, Earth would probably be doomed as well.

Coulson swallowed nervously after seeing how serious Wade was.

“Is it really that serious?”

“That serious.”

“All right.”

Coulson decided not to touch Thor for the time being.

“Do you want to take a look at that hammer?

Maybe you can lift it?”

“Emmm…”

That really was hard to say.

Wade didn’t refuse, though.

He also wanted to see what the legendary Hammer of Thor actually looked like.

As for the claim that no one other than Thor could lift it, plenty of people had already proven otherwise through their actions.

“I can give it a try.

After all, Fury sent me here to investigate everything related to that hammer.”

“All right.

Come with me.”

Coulson nodded.

He led Wade out of the room where Thor was being kept, walked through the temporary corridor, and arrived at the sandpit.

Mjolnir remained exactly where it had been.

“To be honest, we’ve tried everything we could think of, but we haven’t been able to move it even an inch.”

Coulson looked rather puzzled.

“Even stranger, we can’t move the ground beneath the hammer either.

We originally thought we could simply take it away together with the soil, but that idea failed too.”

There was nothing they could do about it.

This was a restriction personally placed by Odin, a form of rule-based magic that couldn’t be understood through conventional logic.

“Let me give it a try.”

Wade motioned for Coulson to step back a little.

Mjolnir’s handle had been made from a branch of the World Tree, the core of Asgard.

Originally, it hadn’t been this short.

It had been a genuine two-handed war hammer.

But thanks to the meddling of Loki, the God of Mischief, its handle had been shortened and was now suited for one-handed use.

“I wonder what makes a true divine weapon different.”

With that thought, Wade reached toward the handle.

The smooth, warm texture of the World Tree made it remarkably comfortable to hold.

From Coulson’s perspective, Wade’s movement seemed to freeze there.

But Wade’s body was exerting tremendous force.

The streamlined contours of his muscles became increasingly pronounced, while the veins on his arms bulged as he increased his strength.

Boom!

A strange sound rang out.

Except for the small patch of ground surrounding Mjolnir, the earth beneath Wade’s feet began cracking apart inch by inch.

Huge fissures spread through the ground, nearly putting the entire base in danger of collapse.

Coulson hurriedly shouted,

“Wade!

Stop!

Stop!

The base is going to collapse!”

Wade’s brows furrowed tightly.

“So it still doesn’t work?”

Over the years, his physical abilities had continued to grow.

At full strength, his physical power was already approaching thirty tons.

And he had even altered the gravity around him.

Forget a hammer that appeared to weigh only a few dozen kilograms—even something weighing over a hundred tons should have been within his ability to lift.

Wade slowly released the handle and straightened his body.

Coulson sighed softly.

“Even you can’t lift it?

Then what exactly is this hammer?”

What it was, Wade didn’t intend to explain yet.

Even if he told them, they wouldn’t believe him.

Talking about divine weapons in a world like this was simply too ridiculous.

“It seems that to lift this thing, you really have to earn Odin’s approval.”

In other words, only beings with a pure heart, like Captain America or Vision, could lift it.

“Or there may be another possibility.”

Mjolnir had been forged from the core of a dying planet.

It contained the power of an entire world.

And if it was a star…

Then things were different for him.

Wade’s radiant eyes grew brighter and brighter.

He opened his hand and pointed toward Mjolnir from a distance.

His mind and psychic power began surging.

“Now, obey my command!”

An invisible pressure erupted from Wade.

For the first time, Mjolnir, which had remained completely motionless for so long, began to tremble.
