“W-Wade, it…
it moved?”
Coulson, standing nearby, looked both excited and nervous.
Because from where he stood, the aura radiating from Wade had suddenly become so vast and overwhelming that it was difficult to describe.
The dark clouds above Mjolnir gathered once again.
Wind, rain, thunder, and lightning twisted together, their fury far greater than before.
Yet Wade, standing silently in place, wasn’t having an easy time.
Fine beads of sweat appeared across his forehead.
Without Odin’s approval, lifting Mjolnir while resisting its enchantment meant fighting against the power of an entire planet.
That was why, even though Mjolnir was responding to Wade’s call, Wade still found it extremely difficult to completely control its power.
In fact, this was true for most superheroes.
To forcibly control Mjolnir through sheer strength, one genuinely needed Skyfather-level power.
If Marvel’s power levels were divided into tiers, they could roughly be categorized as Earth-level, Skyfather-level, Single-Universe-level, Multiversal-level, Hyperversal-level, and the levels above them, reaching the level of the entire universe.
Including Wade, as well as the various active mutants, none of them had broken beyond the Earth-level category.
Thor, on the other hand, despite appearing somewhat “weak” at the moment, genuinely possessed Skyfather-level power.
Of course, that was assuming he had fully awakened.
“To become comparable to a god while still possessing a mortal body…
I guess I’m still a little short.”
Wade took a deep breath.
A faint radiance filled his right hand, while starlight transformed into something resembling a veil that wrapped around him.
He once again gripped the constantly trembling Mjolnir.
“But I should still have something to strive for.”
In an instant, all the starlight converged.
This time, the ground didn’t collapse.
There was no overwhelming explosion of power.
The trembling of Mjolnir suddenly stopped.
And then, it finally left the ground.
Since the moment Odin had created Mjolnir, this was the first time someone without Odin’s approval had managed to lift it.
The moment Mjolnir left the ground, the clouds across the sky began to churn.
The black mass of clouds transformed into a gigantic vortex.
Wind, rain, thunder, and lightning erupted simultaneously.
Fierce winds swept across the land as thunder dragons awakened within the sea of clouds, unleashing deafening roars before crashing violently toward Wade.
“Look out!”
Coulson’s heart sank.
He suddenly regretted bringing Wade here.
If Wade were struck by lightning and killed, both S.H.I.E.L.D.
and Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters would probably go into an uproar.
However, the lightning couldn’t actually harm Wade.
This wasn’t some supercharged bolt personally summoned by Thor, nor was it some divine lightning capable of instantly killing its target.
So not only was Wade unharmed, but the faint tingling sensation actually felt rather comfortable.
However, within the flash of lightning, Wade’s consciousness seemed to travel across countless dimensions, arriving at a completely unfamiliar place.
It was a magnificent, golden hall.
At the center stood a platform, so luxurious that it resembled the resting place of an ancient king.
An old man with white hair and a white beard lay quietly upon it.
He had only one eye, and his hands rested across his waist as if he were sleeping.
“The great god, Odin.”
Amid Wade’s astonishment, Odin’s voice slowly echoed through the space.
“Young one who is still a mortal, I can see the vast power hidden within your body.”
Still a mortal?
Wade was slightly confused.
That sounded almost as though he wouldn’t remain human in the future.
“I look forward to meeting you.”
With those words, a gentle force pushed Wade’s consciousness farther and farther away.
His mind returned to his body.
The thunder dragon that had descended from the sky had already disappeared, leaving only faint electrical sparks lingering in the surrounding air.
At the same time, an overwhelming wave of exhaustion washed over Wade.
His hand could no longer hold Mjolnir.
The hammer slipped from his grasp and fell.
Fortunately, when it dropped, it didn’t fall with the mass of an entire planet.
Otherwise, Earth would have been finished right then and there.
“I actually…
met Odin.”
For Wade, it had been a brief yet incredibly fantastical journey of consciousness.
That magnificent golden place had to be Asgard.
“Are you all right?
I-I can’t believe it.
You actually lifted it.”
Seeing that Wade had endured the lightning without suffering any injuries, Coulson finally breathed a sigh of relief.
At the same time, he thought to himself,
The power of mutants is far beyond anything I imagined.
“Don’t worry.
I’m fine.”
Wade rubbed his hand.
“I just met someone interesting.
Though, if I told you who, you probably wouldn’t believe me.”
Coulson asked in confusion, “Who?
There were only the two of us here just now.”
“The hammer told me.”
Wade pointed toward Mjolnir lying on the ground.
You heard me right—the great god Odin from Norse mythology.”
“…”
Coulson looked at Wade with concern.
“Oh no.
Did getting struck by lightning fry your brain too?”
Wade glared at Coulson and flicked him on the forehead.
Coulson immediately covered his increasingly unfortunate hairline, wincing in pain.
“I’m serious.
There are many things in this world that can’t be explained through common sense.
This hammer—or rather, Mjolnir—showed me its information.”
Wade spoke slowly.
“And congratulations to Director Fury.
His guess was correct.
This thing really is from an extraterrestrial civilization.
You can go back and think carefully about how you’re going to write that report.”
Coulson noticed that Wade didn’t look like he was joking, and his expression became serious.
“Mjolnir?
An extraterrestrial civilization?
Are you sure?”
“Absolutely.”
Coulson also knew the stories of Norse mythology, so he continued to follow the excellent tradition of asking questions whenever he didn’t understand something.
“But Mjolnir is supposed to belong to Thor, the God of Thunder from mythology, right?”
“Thor?”
Wade curled his lips.
“That blond musclehead you thought might catch a cold.”
“…”
Coulson fell silent again.
“Give me a moment.
I know you don’t normally talk nonsense, but accepting that a figure from mythology has actually appeared in the real world…
I just can’t process it that quickly.”
“Don’t worry.
Soon, you’ll have no choice but to accept it.”
Wade slightly turned his head, his gaze falling toward a certain direction concealed behind the white curtains.
He sensed a very unfamiliar brainwave there.
Based on its intensity, it was considerably stronger than that of an ordinary mutant.
And it was remarkably similar to Thor’s.
So it’s you, Loki.
The hot-headed big brother had arrived.
How could his little brother possibly be absent?
