Just how hot was a meteorite when it fell to Earth?

Traveling at several dozen kilometers per second, the friction between the meteorite and the atmosphere would generate an enormous amount of heat.

At the moment of impact, its temperature could reach several thousand degrees Celsius.Full novel: Marvel: I Am the Lord of the Stars — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The surface of the Sun was only a little over five thousand degrees.

For a weakened Riot that had yet to fully develop, this single attack was enough to leave it completely overwhelmed.

Of course, there was also the terrifying impact force produced by gravity accelerating the meteorite.

And so, starting from the floor where the hospital room was located…

BOOM!

With a deafening explosion, the meteorite tore straight through the entire building, punching a massive hole through every floor before smashing violently into the foundation.

As for Riot, which had been struck by this divine justice from above…

It wanted to cry.

Its body hadn’t even fully recovered yet.

In its half-formed state, the meteorite forcibly smashed it all the way down to the bottom of the hospital.

The combination of extreme heat and overwhelming impact reduced its body to nothing more than a tiny amount of residue.

In the end, it disappeared completely.

“So…

I really can summon meteors.”

Wade stared blankly at the enormous hole before him.

There was something incredibly satisfying about this completely unreasonable power.

At the same time, though, it left him feeling somewhat dazed.

“I feel a little dizzy.”

This was the first time he had unleashed the full power hidden inside his body, combining both his mental and physical strength.

Now that the tension had faded, exhaustion immediately overwhelmed him.

Wade simply sat down on the floor and slipped into a dazed state.

At that moment, the already twisted and deformed hospital door was suddenly pushed open.

Two groups of people hurried into the room.

Wade was familiar with one of them.

After all, he immediately recognized the bald professor, Charles.

As for the red-haired woman beside him, there was no need to guess.

She was the famous Phoenix—Jean Grey.

The other group consisted of a squad of highly trained soldiers.

They wore black tactical uniforms and carried firearms.

Leading them was a middle-aged man with a decent presence, although his receding hairline was somewhat unfortunate.

The man looked extremely serious as he addressed Charles.

“Hello, Professor X.”

“Hello, Agent Coulson.”

Charles calmly looked at Coulson.

“I’m sorry about what happened here.

Leave this child to us.

I’ll cover the hospital’s losses.”

The corner of Coulson’s mouth twitched.

“I’m sorry, Professor, but this isn’t a question of compensation.

It’s S.H.I.E.L.D.’s responsibility to deal with unusual incidents.

What happened here falls directly within our jurisdiction.”

“S.H.I.E.L.D.

doesn’t seem to have a precedent for forcibly taking mutants away.”

Charles smiled faintly.

“Or is this your director’s personal decision?”

Despite the friendly smile on the middle-aged man’s face, Coulson’s entire body tensed.

Although Charles had a relatively low threat rating within S.H.I.E.L.D.’s records, he was still one of the world’s most powerful telepaths.

Not everyone was comfortable entrusting their lives to someone else.

“You’re joking, Professor.”

Coulson forced a professional smile.

“This really is our responsibility.

Please don’t make things difficult for us.”

“I’m not making things difficult for you.”

Charles spoke as casually as though he were discussing something completely ordinary.

“I’m simply stating my position.

If there’s really a problem, let Nick come and talk to me himself.”

With that, he turned toward Jean.

“Take the boy with us.”

“Of course, Professor.”

Jean walked gracefully toward Wade.

She was tall, nearly 1.7 meters, and her elegant figure immediately attracted the attention of several S.H.I.E.L.D.

agents.

Before Wade, who was still somewhat dazed, could react, Jean picked him up.

And not just any way.

She carried him in her arms like a princess.

Wade was indeed shorter than Jean.

But that didn’t make the situation any less embarrassing.

Feeling the soft warmth and faint fragrance so close to him, Wade’s already muddled mind became even more confused.

I…

I can’t handle this.

And then…

He passed out.

The S.H.I.E.L.D.

agents were about to move, but Coulson immediately raised a hand to stop them.

He silently watched Charles and Jean leave.

After they had disappeared from sight, one of the agents couldn’t help asking,

“Sir?

We’re just letting them leave?”

Coulson sighed.

“What else can we do?

If we turn this into a confrontation, we’ll be the ones apologizing afterward.”

“For now, let’s worry about how we’re going to explain this to the director.”

The agents:

“…”

Wade had no idea how he left the hospital or how he ended up aboard an aircraft.

By the time the aircraft finally landed, he slowly woke up.

Jean glanced down at Wade in her arms.

Her cool, pleasant voice rang out.

“Are you planning on getting up?”

Wade awkwardly climbed out of Jean’s arms.

“Sorry.”

He lightly landed on the ground.

His bare upper body gleamed faintly beneath the sunlight.

The surroundings were elegant and beautiful.

Sunlight filtered through the leaves and fell across the lawn, while an ancient castle stood in the distance.

“This is my private estate.”

Charles explained as he looked at Wade.

Then he sighed helplessly.

“Mr.

Silent, you nearly destroyed the best hospital in New York.”

Wade awkwardly scratched his head.

“That was an accident.”

Under Charles’s curious gaze, Wade quickly explained everything that had happened at the hospital.

“A symbiote from outer space?”

Charles was an accomplished genetic biologist, but even he wasn’t particularly familiar with a symbiote possessing such unusual characteristics.

“That’s quite extraordinary.

If what you’re saying is true, we’ll probably need someone more specialized to investigate it properly.”

“But for now, there’s a much bigger problem right in front of you.”

Wade:

“???”

Charles spoke at an unhurried pace.

“Unlike the meteorite incident in Flushing, the fact that you deliberately manipulated a meteorite’s descent has already been discovered by certain government agencies.”

“Certain agencies?”

Wade suddenly had a very bad feeling.

There weren’t many organizations in the Marvel Universe that would involve themselves in something like this.

Nine times out of ten…

It was S.H.I.E.L.D.

“You don’t necessarily need to know exactly which agency it is.”

Charles smiled.

“But I can responsibly tell you that you’ve been exposed.”

“And they will definitely pursue the matter and demand compensation from you.”

His smile became slightly more pronounced.

“So, what are you going to do now?”

“You should understand that these people might even take your grandmother into custody.”

I could believe the first half.

But the second half?

Do you really think I’m an idiot?

Wade desperately tried not to let too much disdain show in his eyes.

More importantly, he had clearly caught the hidden eagerness in Charles’s gaze.

It was almost as though Wade were some incredibly rare treasure.

“Obviously, I can’t afford to compensate them.”

“And I don’t have anyone backing me up either.”

“If they really want to arrest me, then I suppose they can do whatever they want.”

Wade spread his hands, looking as though he had completely resigned himself to his fate.

“As for arresting my grandmother…

I don’t think they’d go that far.”

“Abandoning public opinion and gaining a reputation for bullying an elderly woman wouldn’t exactly look good for them.”

Charles’s expression stiffened.

This isn’t how the script was supposed to go.

Normally, shouldn’t Mr.

Wade be terrified and helpless, with Professor Charles generously offering assistance?

Then, after paying a huge sum of money on his behalf, Wade would be overwhelmed with gratitude…

And finally, he’d happily follow them back to the school?

But somehow…

The script had gone completely off the rails.
