Below, the Asgard army was putting up a hasty resistance; they were already at a disadvantage in numbers, and taken completely by surprise by the raid, their formations were in chaos and command had failed, leaving them to rely solely on personal valor and sporadic tactical cooperation to stem the advance of the Death Legion.

But even so, the combat effectiveness of the Asgard warriors could still not be underestimated.

Those warriors clad in golden armor wielded longswords and battle axes, hacking down the Undead Warriors one by one as they charged into the front lines, showing no fear even when facing enemies several times their number.Full novel: Marvel: I Am The Villian Behind the Scenes — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But his gaze did not linger on these conventional battles for long; he was waiting for the real show to begin.

Sure enough, just as the Death Legion advanced to the courtyard of the second floor of the Golden Palace, a loud neighing suddenly echoed through the sky.

Asat Pramad raised his head.

In the night sky, streaks of silvery-white light cut through the darkness; they were a group of warriors riding pegasi, clad in silver armor and holding longspears, with agile and heroic postures, their celestial horses stepping on brilliant light beneath their hooves, dragging countless flowing bands of light across the night sky.

The Valkyrie Legion.

Asgard’s most elite aerial force was composed of the most powerful female warriors.

Every Valkyrie had undergone selection and training so rigorous it was nearly cruel; they were born aerial combat experts capable of taking the enemy general’s head amidst thousands of troops.

The intervention of the Valkyrie Legion immediately reversed the battlefield situation.

They swooped down from high altitudes at extreme speeds on their celestial horses; their longspears pierced the skulls of the Undead Warriors as if piercing fragile nutshells, taking away at least three or four Undead Warriors with every dive.

The advancement speed of the Death Legion suddenly slowed down, and signs of suppression even appeared in certain areas.

Hela narrowed her eyes and looked up at the Valkyries in the sky, a trace of coldness flashing through her dark green eyes.

“The Valkyries,” she said softly, “they really came.”

She had long anticipated that Odin would place the Valkyries in critical positions; these warriors riding pegasi were the elite of the elites she had personally cultivated.

Hela knew their strength very well, and she also knew that their loyalty to Odin was almost unshakable.

But Hela also had a backup plan.

She raised her hand and waved it backward.

In the shadows behind the Death Legion, three thousand pitch-black figures moved silently.

Void Rangers.

These soldiers of the Antimatter Legion had been hiding in the dark, following Hela’s orders not to enter the battlefield at the first moment, but waiting for the right opportunity.

Now, the opportunity had arrived.

The Void Rangers surged from the rear; their movement method was completely different from the Death Legion, with no footsteps, no battle cries, only a bizarre, silent glide as if directly traversing through the air.

The Valkyrie Legion’s attention was focused on suppressing the Death Legion, and it wasn’t until the Void Rangers had advanced right below them that someone noticed this brand new force.

“What is that?” A Valkyrie frowned, casting her gaze at the pitch-black figures below, “They are not people from the Death Legion, those things—”

Before she could finish her sentence, the Void Rangers at the very front had already launched an attack.

The Void Rangers’ attack method was simple yet deadly—they rushed in front of their targets, swung their arms, and directly released trace amounts of annihilation reactions.

An Asgard soldier standing in the front row was hit in the chest by a Void Ranger’s fist.

In that instant, his armor along with the flesh on his chest was simultaneously annihilated into a fist-sized void, with no blood flowing out, and edges as smooth as if cut by the sharpest blade.

That soldier looked down at the void in his chest with incomprehensible bewilderment in his eyes, then fell forward, breathing no more.

“What kind of sorcery is this!”

Facing an enemy like the Void Rangers for the first time, the Valkyrie Legion was completely unable to adapt to their combat style.

The bodies of the Void Rangers were extremely unstable; even if they were killed, one had to face the annihilation effect generated by runaway matter and antimatter.

A pegasus’s wings were grabbed by a Void Ranger, and in a split second, the entire wing dissolved into dust.

The pegasus fell with a mournful neigh, and the Valkyrie on its back barely adjusted her posture to land in the air, only to immediately fall into the encirclement of more Void Rangers.

“Spread out!

Do not engage in close combat with them!

Use ranged attacks—”

A Valkyrie Captain shouted loudly, but before her command could reach everyone’s ears, she herself was caught in a flank attack by two Void Rangers.

Her longspear pierced the body of the first Void Ranger, but the Void Ranger’s silhouette merely fluctuated, the spear feeling as if it had pierced into the void.

Immediately after, the second Void Ranger’s palm pressed onto her shoulder armor, and that piece of shoulder armor along with the flesh beneath it was simultaneously annihilated, revealing a patch of ghastly white bone.

The Valkyrie Captain let out a cry of pain, rolled over, and barely escaped the dangerous situation under the cover of her companions.

The edges of her wound were clean and neat, as if a part of her had been severed by some weapon beyond conventional cognition.

But many more Valkyries were not as fortunate; the Void Rangers’ first charge took away the lives of at least twenty Valkyries.

And those annihilated wounds didn’t even leave any room for treatment.

Asat Pramad stood on the tower, watching the massive chaos caused by the Void Rangers in the battle formation below.

The purple light on the dice seemed to be a bit brighter than before.

But he knew this was only the beginning.

Since Odin had already foreseen the possibility of a father-daughter fallout, he would never rely solely on the Valkyries to deal with Hela’s rebellion.

That old fox definitely still had a backup plan.

Sure enough, just as the Valkyrie Legion was being driven back step by step by the Void Rangers, the light in the direction of the Bifrost Bridge suddenly became much brighter.

Asat Pramad turned his head to look in the direction of the Bifrost Bridge.

On the giant Bifrost Bridge, a succession of figures were rapidly teleporting over.

The starlight vortex at the end of the Bifrost Bridge rotated violently, projecting those figures one after another onto the land of Asgard.

The first to step out of the Bifrost Bridge was a Frost Giant from Jotunheim.

Those blue giants were covered with a thin layer of frost.

Every step they took condensed large patches of ice flowers on the ground, and cold air hovered around them, freezing even the air itself.

Closely following behind the Frost Giants were the Fire Giants of Muspelheim.

These massive bodies formed of magma and fire created a completely contrasting visual impact with the Frost Giants; crimson lava flowed on their skin, and heat waves around their bodies distorted the surrounding air.

The Dwarf Warriors of Nidavellir also arrived at the same time.

They were short in stature but sturdy in build, clad in heavy armor, and wielding huge warhammers and axes.

The forging craftsmanship of those weapons was breathtakingly exquisite, and the surface of every weapon flowed with the light of runes.

The elite infantry of the Vanir followed closely behind.

Their postures were well-proportioned and graceful, their pale blue skin shimmered in the light of the Bifrost Bridge, and beneath their robes were light battle armor and weapons covered in magic runes.
