The sound of the explosion’s shockwave pounding against the iron door didn’t last very long.
Before long, Jones could clearly hear the sound of metal snapping apart amid the roar of the explosion.
“!!!”
His heart jolted, and Jones instinctively curled his body even tighter.
He knew that the welded joints he had hastily put together could no longer withstand the force of the explosion and were about to break!
As soon as that thought arose, the iron door at the entrance and the door bolt Jones had just made were blasted apart, forcibly pushed into the room by the shockwave outside.
At the same time, Jones felt the things shielding him in front tremble violently, instantly being blasted several inches closer to him.
Not only that, but some of the smaller components attached to those objects were also sent flying by the force of the explosion, leaving several bloody scratches across Jones’s body.
But Jones’s heart was filled with excitement!
A few minor wounds were nothing.
The most important thing was that the explosion had stopped!
He was still alive, and he hadn’t even suffered any serious injuries!!!

Jones let out a long breath, feeling considerably more relaxed.
He hadn’t expected the explosion to end so quickly.

The iron door he had previously placed at the entrance, along with the makeshift door bolt, had been pushed all the way to the back of the room by the force of the explosion!
The entire iron door had been deformed, while the door bolt behind it had snapped into several pieces.
There was no need to imagine what would have happened if that kind of impact had struck Jones directly.

no matter how powerful the explosion was, it’s finally over!”
Muttering softly, Jones extended his right hand and pulled a screw out of his left arm.
It had been shaken loose from the shelter and embedded itself in Jones’s body during the explosion!
“Fortunately, it didn’t go in too deep.”
After looking at the wound on his left arm, Jones muttered inwardly before turning around and walking outside.
Everything was over now.
There was no point in staying here, so he might as well hurry outside!
Jones walked carefully as he made his way out of the cave.
After the explosion, the surrounding rock walls had become extremely fragile, and even a slightly larger vibration could cause chunks of rock to fall.
Jones certainly didn’t want to survive such a massive explosion only to die because of a falling rock.
The cave wasn’t particularly long.
After roughly a minute or two, Jones finally reached the entrance.
The moment he arrived, his pupils suddenly contracted.
Staring straight ahead, a look of understanding appeared on Jones’s face.
“So that’s why the explosion ended so quickly.
The cave entrance collapsed!”
Looking at the thick pile of rubble blocking his path, Jones couldn’t help feeling fortunate.
Judging from the situation, the collapse at the entrance had blocked the explosions behind it.
Otherwise, he really might not have survived so easily!
Having resolved the small doubt in his mind, Jones’s heart settled down again.
Looking at the rubble that could have trapped an ordinary person inside the cave, Jones’s eyes immediately emitted two red beams.

About fifteen minutes later, a sharp “Bang!” suddenly rang out from the charred wall of a small mountain.
At the same time, a red beam shot out from the cave entrance, blasting a fist-sized hole into the rock wall!
As though that first beam had opened the way, more beams shot through the rock wall one after another, each time blasting another hole into it.
Before long, a passage large enough for an adult to pass through had appeared in the mountainside!
A figure then walked directly out through the passage.
Stepping out of the cave, Jones gently raised his head and looked at the sun hanging in the sky.
A hint of joy appeared on his face.
“Warm sunlight!
I’m finally seeing you again…”
Feeling that warm sensation in his eyes, the corners of Jones’s mouth couldn’t help curving upward.
Jones didn’t stay at the now-abandoned base for long.
After only a brief moment of emotion, he immediately started walking away.
As he moved, he also threw his rifle, grenades, and other equipment into the base, keeping only a dagger, a pistol, and a few magazines on himself.
Jones felt that no matter where he went after leaving this place, no one would treat a fully armed stranger very kindly!
