Now that everything had been made clear, Tony didn’t continue staying with Jones.
After watching Tony disappear from sight, Jones immediately took the things Coulson had brought and left the hotel as well.
He had only been staying there because he was waiting for Tony to resolve his identity problem.
Now that Coulson had already taken care of it, there was naturally no reason for him to remain there.
Jones hadn’t forgotten that several listening devices Tony had left behind were still in the room.
Although he didn’t care about them, Jones wasn’t accustomed to living under someone else’s surveillance.
As for how Tony would find him after he left, Jones wasn’t worried in the slightest.
Besides the identity documents, Coulson had also left a cellphone and ten thousand dollars in cash inside the bag.
It seemed that Coulson had really put some effort into winning Tony’s favor, although it was destined to be useless….
….
Jones glanced back at the towering hotel before turning around and walking away without looking back.
Tony still hadn’t developed the Iron Man armor.
According to the original plot, it would take at least another month before the Iron Man armor was completed.
Before that happened, Jones needed to live honestly, just as he had told Coulson earlier, and eliminate S.H.I.E.L.D.’s concerns about him.
Whatever happened, Jones needed to at least secure himself enough time to develop safely and give himself sufficient time to become stronger.
“Washington….”
Muttering the name, a strange smile appeared at the corners of Jones’s mouth.
“If I remember correctly, there shouldn’t be too many major incidents happening in Washington, right?”
With that thought, Jones immediately raised his hand and stopped a nearby taxi.
He opened the door, got inside, and spoke directly.
“The airport!”
The car quickly headed toward the airport, while Jones closed his eyes and began to rest.
His current situation wasn’t particularly dire, but it certainly wasn’t optimistic either.
To be honest, if he could, Jones really did want to live a peaceful, ordinary life, just as he had said.
But he couldn’t.
The crises in The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor: The Dark World, and Avengers: Age of Ultron were all threats to humanity as a whole.
Although the superheroes in the original story resolved those crises, that didn’t mean ordinary people weren’t caught up in them.
In fact, when these superheroes were “doing good,” countless ordinary people ended up getting caught in the crossfire.
In the end, everything even led to the Sokovia Accords, causing the Avengers to split apart.
More importantly, although this world was the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there were also mutants!
If the existence of superheroes meant that certain parts of the world contained potential dangers, then the existence of mutants gave Jones an almost endless sense of crisis.
The mutant population was a mixed bag, but basically all mutants held some degree of hostility toward ordinary humans.
Even the people in the X-Men were no exception.
Forget about how kind Professor X was or how he supposedly never harmed ordinary people.
He could freely control ordinary people, invade their minds, and obtain their memories.
Professor X himself wasn’t exactly an innocent man.
Of course, Jones’s understanding of Professor X was somewhat biased.
But as someone who had crossed into another world, Jones had far too many secrets that couldn’t be exposed.
The existence of Professor X was undoubtedly an enormous threat to him.
Naturally, all these threats existed because Jones wasn’t strong enough.
As long as Jones became powerful enough, none of these things would matter.
And if he wanted to become powerful, relying solely on Superman’s eyes and the Iron Man armor was absolutely not enough.
Jones had to use his advantage of knowing the plot to maximize his growth in strength!
As he repeatedly recalled the plots of the movies, plans gradually began forming in Jones’s mind.
He slowly refined each of them, improving them one by one.
However…
the taxi driver didn’t give Jones much time.
About half an hour later, they arrived at the airport.
After paying and getting out, Jones immediately bought the earliest available ticket to New York at the airport ticket counter.
Twenty minutes later, he boarded a flight to New York.
Jones had his own reasons for going to New York.
Compared to Washington, New York was undoubtedly more dangerous, but at the same time, there were also far more opportunities there.
If you wanted rewards, you had to accept the risks that came with them.
Jones understood such a simple principle perfectly well.
And like most superheroes, Jones needed an identity of his own.
One that could withstand scrutiny from the military and S.H.I.E.L.D., an identity that could exist openly and legitimately.
Moreover, Jones was still under S.H.I.E.L.D.’s surveillance.
That made having a normal job even more necessary.
As for what kind of work he should do, Jones already had a rough idea in mind.
