Soon, Peter, Gwen, and Mary Jane entered the classroom together while the loud chatter of children echoed throughout the room.

The classroom was already full of students talking, laughing, throwing paper balls, and discussing random things before class officially started.

Some children were comparing drawings while others were arguing over cartoons and superheroes.

Peter quietly walked toward his seat near the middle row.

Gwen sat near the window while Mary Jane sat directly behind Peter as usual.

The three of them had naturally started sitting together almost every day over the past few years.

Not because the teacher forced them.

But simply because they enjoyed each other’s company.

Peter carefully placed his backpack down before sitting on his chair gently.

Very gently.

Even now, after years of practice, he remained constantly aware of his own strength.

Meanwhile, Mary Jane leaned forward from behind him dramatically.

“Peter.”

Peter already knew that tone.

Slowly, he looked back.

“…What?”

Mary Jane crossed her arms with a suspicious expression.

“What are you going to do about the assignment?”

The moment she asked that question, Gwen immediately looked toward Peter as well.

Peter blinked innocently.

“What assignment?”

Gwen stared at him flatly.

“The science assignment.”

Peter immediately looked away.

Mary Jane pointed at him dramatically.

“He forgot again!”

Peter quickly defended himself.

“I did not forget.”

“Then where is it?”

Peter remained silent for two whole seconds.

“…I forgot.”

Mary Jane dropped backward onto her chair dramatically like she had just witnessed a tragedy.

“I knew it!”

Gwen sighed deeply while rubbing her forehead.

“Peter, this is the second time this month.”

Peter looked embarrassed.

“I was busy.”

Mary Jane raised an eyebrow.

“Doing what?”

Peter froze slightly.

Obviously, he couldn’t tell them the truth.

That he spent hours every day practicing control exercises because his powers kept growing stronger.

That he accidentally cracked another wall in the basement last week.

That sometimes he became so scared of losing control that he barely slept.

Instead, Peter awkwardly rubbed the back of his head.

“…Stuff.”

Gwen narrowed her eyes slightly.

She noticed it again.

That strange hesitation Peter always showed whenever conversations became personal.

Like he was hiding something.

Not something bad.

But something heavy.

Still, Gwen didn’t push him.

Instead, she simply sighed.

“You better hope the teacher doesn’t get angry.”

Peter smiled weakly.

“Don’t worry.”

Then he straightened slightly with fake confidence.

“It’s my first time forgetting homework this semester.”

Mary Jane immediately coughed loudly.

“Third.”

Peter ignored her.

“The teacher probably won’t say anything.”

Gwen shook her head helplessly.

“You’re lucky you’re smart.”

Peter shrugged.

“I try.”

Mary Jane smirked mischievously.

“No, you survive.”

Before Peter could respond, the classroom door suddenly opened.

Almost instantly, the noisy room became quieter.

Their teacher walked inside while carrying several papers in her hands.

“Good morning, students.” Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.

“Good morning, Miss Warren,” the class answered together.

Peter sat properly in his seat while Gwen and Mary Jane stopped talking.

The teacher placed the papers onto her desk before smiling toward the class.

“Before we begin today’s lesson,” she said, “I have something important to announce.”

The students immediately became curious.

A new project?

A school event?

A surprise test?

Peter silently prayed it wasn’t another assignment.

Then the teacher smiled warmly.

“Today, we have a new transfer student joining our school.”

Immediately, whispers spread throughout the classroom.

“A new student?”

“Really?”

“Boy or girl?”

“Maybe they’re cool.”

Peter looked toward the classroom door curiously.

The teacher turned her head slightly.

“You can come in now.”

A moment later, the classroom door slowly opened again.

Then…

A little girl quietly stepped inside.

The entire classroom immediately became silent.

Even Peter blinked slightly in surprise.

The girl looked around eight years old, around the same age as Peter, Gwen, and Mary Jane.

She had beautiful black hair that flowed down neatly past her shoulders and striking green eyes filled with confidence and curiosity.

Despite being only a child, she already possessed a strange natural charm around her.

Several students stared at her in surprise.

Even at such a young age…

She was undeniably pretty.

Not childish-cute.

Actually beautiful.

Peter himself looked slightly caught off guard.

Not because he liked her romantically or anything childish like that…

But because her appearance stood out immediately.

Meanwhile, Mary Jane narrowed her eyes slightly.

Gwen quietly observed the new girl carefully.

The little girl calmly walked toward the teacher without appearing nervous at all.

Honestly, her confidence was impressive.

The teacher smiled warmly.

“Class, this is our newest student.”

Then she looked toward the girl kindly.

“Go ahead and introduce yourself.”

The little girl nodded politely before looking toward the classroom.

Then she smiled.

The smile immediately brightened her entire face.

“Hello everyone,” she said sweetly.

“My name is Felicia Hardy.”

Peter blinked slightly.

Felicia Hardy.

The name sounded nice.

Felicia continued happily.

“I really like cats…”

Several students giggled softly.

“…and I hope we can all become good friends.”

Her voice sounded gentle and cheerful at the same time.

The teacher smiled proudly.

“Very good, Felicia.”

Then she began looking around the classroom for an empty seat.

After a few moments, her eyes landed beside Peter.

“There is an empty seat over there.”

She pointed directly beside him.

“You can sit next to Peter Parker.”

The entire class immediately looked toward Peter.

Peter froze slightly from the sudden attention.

Felicia also looked toward him.

For a brief moment, their eyes met.

Peter awkwardly looked away first.

Meanwhile, Felicia smiled softly before nodding.

“Okay.”

She began walking toward Peter’s desk calmly.

As she moved through the classroom, several students continued staring curiously.

Mary Jane leaned slightly toward Gwen and whispered dramatically.

“She’s pretty.”

Gwen nodded slightly.

“…Yeah.”

A few seconds later, Felicia finally reached Peter’s desk before sitting down beside him carefully.

Peter suddenly became strangely nervous.

Not because she was a girl.

But because meeting new people always made him slightly anxious nowadays.

What if he accidentally hurt them?

What if he lost control?

Those thoughts appeared almost automatically now.

Felicia turned toward him with a friendly smile.

“Hello.”

Then she stretched her hand toward him politely.

“My name is Felicia Hardy.”

Peter looked at her hand for a second.

For a brief moment, fear crossed his mind.

His strength.

His control.

What if—

Peter quietly calmed himself before carefully shaking her hand.

Very carefully.

His touch was unbelievably gentle.

Then he smiled politely.

“Peter Parker.”

Felicia blinked slightly after the handshake.

Her eyes widened a little.

Peter noticed immediately.

Did she realize something?

But then Felicia suddenly smiled brightly.

“Wow.”

Peter blinked.

“What?”

Felicia tilted her head slightly.

“You’re really gentle.”

Peter froze for half a second.

Those words hit him strangely hard.

Gentle.

Most people would never imagine how much effort it took for him just to be gentle.

How many hours he spent controlling his strength.

How terrified he constantly felt of hurting someone accidentally.

Yet this girl had casually noticed the very thing he struggled hardest to maintain.

Peter smiled awkwardly.

“Uh…

thanks.”

Felicia continued smiling warmly.

Honestly, her smile felt strangely comforting.

Then she suddenly asked something unexpected.

“Do you want to be friends?”

Peter blinked in surprise.

Felicia looked slightly embarrassed now.

“I don’t really know anyone yet.”

Her voice became quieter.

“We just moved to New York recently.”

Peter stared at her silently for a moment.

Something about her expression looked familiar.

That feeling of being alone in a new place.

That nervous hope hidden behind a smile.

Peter understood that feeling very well.

Before he could answer, Mary Jane suddenly leaned forward dramatically from behind him.

“Congratulations,” she announced proudly.

“You’ve officially been adopted into our group.”

Felicia blinked.

“Our group?”

Gwen sighed softly.

“Ignore her.”

“I will not be ignored,” Mary Jane declared heroically.

Peter laughed quietly.

Felicia also giggled softly.

The tension immediately disappeared.

Then Peter finally smiled properly toward her.

“Yeah,” he said warmly.

“We can be friends.”

Felicia’s eyes brightened instantly.

And for the first time since entering the classroom…

She truly looked happy.

Meanwhile, Peter didn’t realize something important.

This simple meeting…

This ordinary school day…

Would someday become far more important than any of them could possibly imagine.
