Just as the bullet came within three meters of Doc Ock’s forehead…

Clang!

A piercing metallic screech tore through the air, sending a sharp stab of pain through everyone’s eardrums.Full novel: Marvel Spider-Man: Web of the Multiverse — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Still shaken, Doc Ock instinctively raised both hands to shield her forehead, only to realize that she was unharmed.

Spider-Man Noir remained suspended upside down.

Behind his pitch-black goggles, his eyes gleamed with razor-sharp intensity.

His enhanced dynamic vision, far surpassing that of an ordinary person, had clearly captured what happened in that split second.

The bullet fired from his revolver had been sliced in half mid-flight by a metal playing card.

The metallic screech had come from the collision between the bullet and the card.

At the same time, an unusually deep, hoarse voice rang out.

“Whoa!

A Spider-Man with a revolver?

I love it!”

A bald man in a black trench coat stepped out from behind the control room door, an Ace of Spades held between his fingers.

At the center of his forehead was a circular scar resembling the bullseye of a target.

He looked at Spider-Man Noir as though he were admiring a favorite toy.

“You have three minutes.

I’ll pay you ten million for every Spider-Man you kill.”

Kingpin waved one thick finger, offering an astronomical bounty.

“Sure thing, Boss.

You can start writing the checks now.”

The bald man flicked three metal playing cards through the air, intercepting three bullets fired by Spider-Man Noir.

“Bullseye, no matter the era, you’re always as greedy as a vulture.”

Spider-Man Noir knew he had encountered an exceptionally troublesome opponent.

Bullseye was a Supervillain capable of turning anything into a projectile and striking with Perfect Accuracy.

Even a pencil could become a deadly weapon in his hands.

The instant Bullseye raised his hand again, Spider-Man Noir released his web and dropped toward the ground.

Bullseye followed close behind, vaulting over the railing and leaping after him.

Even as they plummeted through the air, the two exchanged several volleys.

The shrill sounds of bullets and metal playing cards tearing through the air rang out without pause.

It was enough to show just how fierce the battle was between these two masters of ranged combat, one a Hero and the other a Villain.

A single mistake could leave either of them maimed or dead.

Meanwhile, with Kingpin and Doc Ock’s attention completely diverted, Miles cautiously poked his head out of the vent Spider-Man Noir had kicked open.

After confirming that no one had noticed him, he crawled out as quickly as he could and headed toward the Particle Collider’s backup control panel.

Naturally, Miles did all of this while using Invisibility.

After half a day of emergency training, he had mostly mastered the ability.

More importantly, it did not fail him at the critical moment.

Miles soon reached the backup control panel.

He could still see the impact marks left by the deceased Spider-Man on the alloy shield covering it.

Miles took a deep breath, planted both hands against the heavy shield, and slowly began prying it open.

Just then, the sensation of surging electricity exploded inside his mind.

Danger!

Miles instinctively threw up his arms to defend himself.

A tremendous impact erupted directly in front of him.

A monster covered in sickly green skin, with wings growing from its back and a face twisted like a demon’s, slammed into Miles and sent him flying high into the air.

It was the Green Goblin, back for more!

In his demonic form, the Green Goblin possessed an extraordinarily keen sense of smell, making him a perfect counter to Miles’s Invisibility.

While Miles had been hiding in the vent, the Green Goblin could not pick up his scent.

The moment he emerged, however, the Green Goblin detected his presence.

Even worse than Miles being knocked away, the [Key] slipped from his body and flew through the air alongside him.

Fortunately, Gwen, the crucial Seventh Member, proved her worth at that very moment.

After remaining hidden for so long, Gwen emerged from a corner of the Particle Collider, fired a strand of webbing to catch the [Key], then used the web’s recoil to pull it securely into her hand.

Seeing two more Spider-Men suddenly appear, Doc Ock was beginning to feel a headache coming on.

She charged toward Gwen on all eight Octopus Tentacles, intent on eliminating the newly revealed Spider-Woman.

But while Doc Ock’s attention was fixed entirely on Gwen in the distance, a red-and-blue mechanical alloy fist descended from above and sent her flying several meters.

“Behold the iron fist of technology, Doctor Octo…

Ms.

Octopus…”

Peni Parker made her grand entrance at the controls of the Spider-Mech.

“I hate you.” Doc Ock adjusted the glasses on the bridge of her nose.

“A Spider-Man who pilots a robot isn’t a real Spider-Man.”

“Wow, Doc Ock is jealous.

Why don’t you build yourself an Octopus robot?

Are your technical skills not good enough?”

Peni Parker was just as formidable when it came to verbal jabs.

“Shut up!

I could build one whenever I wanted!”

Doc Ock swung her Octopus Tentacles and engaged the Spider-Mech in a fierce battle.

Elsewhere, Gwen clutched the [Key] and prepared to continue the mission.

Thud!

A heavy impact sounded nearby.

Gwen turned and discovered that the greatest threat of all had come straight for her.

Kingpin had discarded his suit jacket and leaped directly from the control room onto the Particle Collider.

He charged toward Gwen like a human tank.

At that moment, the massive brawl between heroes and Villains erupted in full force.

Only one minute remained before the Particle Collider activated.

…

The battle on the other side was just as fierce.

Middle-aged Peter Parker faced the charging Scorpion head-on.

In this universe, Scorpion was not the result of a simple genetic mutation.

He had undergone extensive cybernetic modification.

The lower half of his body had been completely transformed into a mechanical structure consisting of four scorpion-like legs and a mechanical tail.

His left hand had also been replaced by a massive mechanical scorpion claw, making him extremely dangerous.

Spider-Ham, meanwhile, was fighting the deathly pale Tombstone.

Despite being the comic relief, Spider-Ham was remarkably powerful with his cartoonish sledgehammer and had actually forced Tombstone onto the defensive.

Even with his Superhuman Durability, Tombstone had been beaten until lumps covered his head, making him the most battered of all the Villains.

The highly mobile Prowler, meanwhile, was locked in a dangerous chase with Peter.

Their battle had carried them all the way from the subway tunnel into the Particle Collider testing facility.

The Prowler’s claws could slice through steel alloy with ease, while his energy-jet boots provided both speed and agility.

Together, they caused Peter a little trouble.

Fortunately, it was only a little, well within Peter’s ability to handle.

“Ever think about using that gear for food delivery?

You’d make decent money and you wouldn’t have to risk your neck working for Kingpin.”

“Shut up, you damn insect!”

“See, this is what happens when you drop out too early.

Basic biology: spiders are arthropods, not insects.”

“I don’t care about arthropods!

Just shut…”

Peter’s relentless barrage of taunts left the Prowler’s head buzzing with fury.

Although he had fought this universe’s Spider-Man many times before, Peter’s superior skill at verbal sparring still managed to get under his skin.

The moment the Prowler became distracted, Peter fired a strand of webbing overhead, grabbed it, and yanked downward with all his strength.

The Prowler’s vision blurred.

By the time he realized what had happened, he was already trapped inside a dense mass of webbing.

The webs Peter had fired earlier had been crisscrossing and overlapping all around the Prowler.

With one final pull on the last strand, Peter completed a three-dimensional web around him.
