Cold winds howled through downtown New York as Fisk Tower blazed with light, shining like a brilliant torch.
A small aircraft painted red and blue, with spider faces on both sides, glided silently toward the building and hovered high above it.
Spider-Man Noir and Miles leaped out.
Peni Parker and her Spider-Mech followed close behind.
The three Spider-Men and the Mecha soon landed on the roof of Fisk Tower.
Through the enormous glass dome, they could see a lavish memorial banquet for Spider-Man taking place inside.
Kingpin holding a memorial for Spider-Man.
The sheer absurdity of it was staggering.
“We’ve reached Fisk Tower.
Everything goes according to plan.
You both remember the strategy we worked out on the plane, right?”
Spider-Man Noir turned toward the two beside him.
At that moment, he resembled a homeroom teacher supervising his students, constantly mindful of the two youngsters’ safety.
“Of course.
My spider has recorded the entire plan.
I guarantee we won’t be off by even a second.”
Peni Parker sounded completely confident.
Behind her, the Spider-Mech responded to its pilot with a huge digital smile.
Miles, however, looked somewhat uncertain.
“Step one, infiltrate.
Step two, find the big machine.
Step three, insert the [Key]…”
“Exactly.
You’re a rookie, so just remember those three essential steps.
Leave everything else to me.”
Spider-Man Noir patted his new apprentice on the head as his black trench coat fluttered in the wind.
While the three Spider-Men were speaking in hushed voices, thunderous applause suddenly erupted from the banquet hall.
Kingpin had just finished his speech.
Smiling and waving to the guests, he left the stage with his subordinates.
“Go, go, go.
Kingpin’s moving.
We follow him now.”
“Kingpin’s private elevator shaft will take us straight underground.
That’s where the Particle Collider testing facility is located.”
Peni Parker had already investigated the entire layout of Fisk Tower and identified the most efficient infiltration route.
The three Spider-Men exchanged glances and nodded in perfect unison.
Under the cover of night, the three figures vanished from the roof of Fisk Tower in the blink of an eye.
…
…
Brooklyn, Franklin Street Station No.
1.
It had once been a bustling subway station.
Five years earlier, Kingpin had rerouted the subway line to the newly constructed Franklin Street Station No.
2, claiming that the change was necessary for the construction of Fisk Tower.
Franklin Street Station No.
1 had been abandoned ever since.
Now, however, the supposedly deserted subway platform had been transformed into an enormous underground testing facility.
The entire platform had been excavated and expanded into an elliptical chamber with a radius of over two hundred meters.
Cold steel alloy covered every inch of the vast chamber.
It resembled a gigantic metal dome buried deep beneath the earth.
Three uninvited guests appeared inside one of the abandoned subway tunnels leading to the metal dome.
They were Peter, Middle-aged Peter Parker, and Spider-Ham, all dressed in their Spider-Man suits.
“My dear chubby Wilson, are you home?
Uncle Spider-Man has come to visit.
Hurry out and greet your guests!”
Middle-aged Peter Parker shouted his taunt toward the end of the tunnel.
Spider-Ham, standing beside him, apparently thought Middle-aged Peter Parker was not being loud enough.
It reached behind its back and rummaged around before somehow pulling out a large megaphone and handing it to Middle-aged Peter Parker.
“Buddy, use this.
You’re so quiet, you sound like you skipped lunch.”
“Thanks.
This is going to come in very handy.”
Middle-aged Peter Parker’s grin was so wide that not even his mask could conceal it.
Opportunities to mock Kingpin without restraint through a megaphone were rare, and Middle-aged Peter Parker had no intention of wasting this one.
Peter watched the exchange, shrugged, and covered his ears with both hands.
A moment later, Middle-aged Peter Parker’s voice thundered through the subway tunnel, echoing deafeningly in every direction.
Kingpin had just arrived in the Particle Collider’s control room when he spotted the three Spider-Men on the surveillance monitors.
Hearing himself called “chubby Wilson” made veins bulge across Kingpin’s gleaming forehead.
“Why are there three damned crawlers?
I killed that wretched bug yesterday!”
Kingpin roared in fury.
Doc Ock stopped working at the control console, her voice trembling with excitement.
“They must be Spider-Men from the Multiverse!
My theory was right.
The gateway to the Multiverse has opened!”
Kingpin glared viciously at the surveillance screen, the flesh stretched across his face quivering with rage.
“Get rid of those vermin!
No matter how many times it takes, kill them!”
At his command, the Sinister Six immediately sprang into action.
The Prowler, Tombstone, Scorpion, and Green Goblin rushed out of the control room, each moving in their own way.
The four Supervillains charged toward the three Spider-Men.
That was exactly what Peter had planned.
It created the perfect opportunity for the other infiltrating Spider-Team to use the [Key].
…
Several minutes earlier, inside a ventilation duct near the ceiling of the underground testing facility, Spider-Man Noir and Miles were crammed together face-to-face, observing the area below through an exhaust vent.
Since Peni Parker lacked Wall-Crawling Ability, she had entered the Spider-Mech’s cockpit and remained behind to cover them.
The vent was close to the control room, giving them a clear view of Doc Ock working at a computer.
Miles excitedly turned toward Spider-Man Noir and silently mouthed the information.
“Olivia Octavius, CTO of Alchemax Corporation.”
“Patience, kid.”
The two exchanged knowing nods.
They then watched as four members of the Sinister Six were lured away.
Only Doc Ock and Kingpin remained in the control room.
With both of them present, there was no way the infiltration could proceed smoothly.
Unless someone was willing to make a sacrifice…
Spider-Man Noir immediately decided on their next move.
He turned toward Miles and Peni Parker, giving them a look that told them to act when the opportunity arose.
The next moment…
Thud!
The vent grille was violently kicked away, and Spider-Man Noir made his entrance hanging upside down in the classic pose.
Kingpin’s triangular eyes gleamed with malice as he glared at Spider-Man Noir, his rage nearly reaching its limit.
Just how many Spider-Men were going to appear?!
“Boss, leave this bug to me.
The program is ready.
The Particle Collider will activate automatically in three minutes.”
Doc Ock lightly tapped the final button, then gracefully pulled out a hair tie and tied back her hair.
Eight Advanced Tentacles made from a special biomaterial unfurled one after another.
Now at full strength, Doc Ock used her Advanced Tentacles to cling to the alloy walls and rapidly approached Spider-Man Noir.
At the sight of this all-too-familiar scene, Spider-Man Noir’s pupils contracted sharply.
Mechanical Bionic Claws resembling octopus arms, combined with the appearance of a wild-haired female mad scientist.
Once again, Spider-Man Noir was reminded of just how absurdly chaotic the Multiverse could be.
“I have to admit, meeting a female version of Doctor Octopus seriously challenges my understanding of the world.”
“So…
goodbye, Ms.
Olivia.
Go to hell and confess your sins to Satan.”
Spider-Man Noir’s voice was so cold that it seemed capable of shedding shards of ice.
At the same instant, his right hand blurred as he drew the revolver from his waist with lightning speed.
Bang!
A specially made silver-white bullet shot from the scorching barrel and flew straight toward Doc Ock’s forehead.
Such a ruthless and decisive attack from a Spider-Man was completely beyond Doc Ock’s expectations.
Was this really the same Spider-Man who followed the No-Kill Rule?
Caught completely unprepared, Doc Ock froze where she stood.
The deadly bullet was about to tear straight through her brain.
