….

Peter hurried after Raja, adjusting the strap of his backpack.

“Hey…

Raj.”

Raja slowed down and looked over his shoulder.

Peter rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

“Did…

uh…

you come late today too?”

Raja nodded hearing him.

“Yeah.”

“I had something important to take care of this morning.”

Peter smiled sheepishly.

“Guess I’m not the only one who keeps arriving late then.”

Raja couldn’t help but glance at him.

‘You’re probably the most regular latecomer in the entire school.’

Of course, there was a perfectly understandable reason.

For the past year,

Ever since the radioactive spider had changed his life,

Peter Parker had been juggling school with secretly protecting Queens as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

At this point, he was still wearing the homemade suit stitched together by his own hands.

A simple red hoodie with goggles.

No Stark suit.

No AI.

No instant-kill mode.

He hadn’t even met Tony Stark yet.

To the world, Spider-Man was just another masked vigilante swinging through New York.

To Raja…

He was the future Avenger currently worrying about homework.

The two entered their classroom just as the teacher began the lesson.

“….”

“….”

An hour later.

The bell rang.

Students immediately began packing their bags.

Just as Raja was about to leave, Peter suddenly stopped him.

“Uh…

Raj?”

Raja turned around.

Peter looked noticeably nervous.

He kept shifting his weight between his feet.

Finally, he took a deep breath.

“My birthday is this Saturday.”

Raja blinked hearing him.

Peter continued awkwardly.

“Aunt May is…

um…

throwing a small birthday party at our house.”

“I was wondering…

If you’d like to come.”

For a few seconds…

Neither of them spoke.

Raja looked at Peter with mild surprise.

Peter himself looked equally confused.

‘Why did I invite him?’

Truthfully…

He didn’t know.

Raj wasn’t exactly popular.

He wasn’t disliked either.

He simply…

Existed.

He rarely spoke to anyone.

He kept to himself.

In fact, Peter had genuinely believed Raj was mute until today’s encounter with Flash Thompson.

Still…

Something about today’s events made Peter feel that Raj wasn’t a bad person.

Maybe…

He just needed a friend.

Peter smiled awkwardly.

“It won’t be anything huge.”

“Ned’s coming.

Harry said he’ll try.”

“Liz accepted too.

Which caused the earlier situation…

well with Flash…”

“So…

If you come…

That’d be great.”

He scratched his cheek, slightly embarrassed.

“Aunt May keeps saying I should make more friends.”

“If she finds out someone new is coming…

She’ll probably be happier than I am.”

Unlike the extravagant birthday celebrations Harry Osborn enjoyed every year, Peter’s birthdays were simple.

No luxury decorations.

No celebrity guests.

Just homemade food, laughter, and the warmth that only Aunt May could create.

Raja smiled genuinely.

“I’ll be there.”

Peter’s face immediately lit up.

“Really?”

“Yeah.”

“Thanks man.”

For some reason, Peter looked far more excited than Raja expected.

Seeing Peter’s smile, Raja couldn’t help thinking…

‘He’s just a kid.

For all the responsibilities on his shoulders…

he’s still only sixteen.’

The final bell rang a few hours later.

Classes were finally over.

Students poured out of Midtown High in every direction.

Raja walked toward the student parking lot.

As he unlocked his yellow Chevrolet Camaro, he noticed two familiar figures walking toward the nearby bus stop.

Peter Parker.

Ned Leeds.

The two were completely absorbed in their conversation.

“…I’m telling you, Peter,”

Ned insisted enthusiastically, waving his hands around.

“If we rebuild the Death Star using the Ultimate Collector’s Edition instructions, it’ll look way better!”

Peter laughed hearing him.

“But where are we going to put something that big?”

“My room.”

“You don’t even have space for your desk.”

“I’ll make space.”

Raja smiled faintly before starting the engine.

The Camaro rolled forward before stopping beside them.

The passenger-side window slowly lowered.

Peter and Ned both turned.

Raja rested one arm on the window.

“You two heading toward Forest Hills?”

Peter nodded his head.

“Yeah.”

“I’m going that way.”

Raja tilted his head toward the empty seats.

“Hop in.”

“I’ll drop you off.”

The two boys exchanged uncertain glances.

“…You sure?”

Peter asked him confused.

“Yeah.

It isn’t a problem.”

After another moment of hesitation, Peter opened the passenger door and climbed in.

Ned followed, settling into the back seat.

The moment the doors closed…

Ned leaned closer to Peter and whispered as quietly as he could,

“…Peter…”

“Are we…

being kidnapped by our own mute classmate?”

Peter almost choked trying not to laugh.

“He isn’t mute.”

“He talks.

I’ve just…

never heard him talk before today.”

Ned blinked in shock realisation appeared on his face.

“…Seriously?”

Peter nodded with a serious look on his face.

“You should’ve heard him.”

“He roasted Flash so badly even Flash couldn’t think of a comeback.”

Ned’s eyes slowly widened.

“….”

He turned toward Raja with an expression of complete disbelief.

Then…

His expression transformed into one of pure admiration.

“…Dude…”

“You actually shut Flash Thompson up?”

Raja kept his eyes on the road as he pulled out of the parking lot.

“I didn’t.”

“He trapped his own finger in my locker.”

“I simply asked him why anyone would put their fingers where a locker door was about to close.”

There was a brief silence.

Ned imagined the scene.

Then burst into laughter.

“HAHAHAHA!”

“Oh man!”

“I wish I’d seen his face!”

Peter couldn’t help laughing as well.

“I’ve never seen Flash get speechless before.”

Ned wiped a tear from the corner of his eye.

“Raj…

I’ve officially changed my opinion of you.”

“We all thought you were the quiet mysterious kid.”

He pointed dramatically.

“But you’re secretly savage.”

Raja simply smiled.

“Is that so?”

Ned nodded vigorously.

“Absolutely.”

Peter glanced at Raja before looking out the window with a small smile.

For the first time since entering Midtown High…

Raj wasn’t sitting alone.

And somehow…

The drive home already felt like the beginning of an unexpected friendship.

After dropping Peter and Ned off, Raja let out a long breath.

“…Finally.”

The entire drive had consisted of one thing.

Questions.

Endless questions.

Ned Leeds was like an encyclopedia that had somehow gained the ability to speak at double speed.

“So what’s your favorite movie?”

“Do you play video games?”

“What’s your favorite pizza topping?”

“Do you watch Star Wars?”

“Any Comics you like?”

“How about DC?”

“Can you solve a Rubik’s Cube?”

“Have you ever built LEGO?”

“Do you think aliens exist?”

“…”

By the time Raja had parked outside Peter’s house, he was fairly certain Ned had asked him close to a hundred questions.

Peter could only apologize awkwardly while dragging his still-curious best friend out of the Camaro.

“Sorry, Raj.

Ned gets…

excited.”

“I do not!”

Ned protested hearing his friend’s words.

“I was conducting important research.”

Raja chuckled.

“I noticed.”

After watching the two disappear into the Parker residence, Raja shifted the car into gear.

“Time to head home.”

The roads were unusually busy.

Even before turning on the radio, Raja noticed something was wrong.

Police cars sped past him.

Emergency vehicles raced toward the city’s center.

Helicopters roared overhead.

Just then…

BOOOOOOOOOM!!

A deafening explosion shook the entire street.

“What the…?!”

Raja instinctively slammed on the brakes.

-Screeeech!

The Chevrolet Camaro skidded several meters before finally stopping sideways across the road.

Smoke billowed into the sky.

People screamed.

Vehicles immediately began reversing or making desperate U-turns.

Raja slowly looked toward the source of the destruction.

The color drained from his face.

“…No.

…Please no.”

His worst fears were confirmed.

This wasn’t a terrorist attack.

It was something far worse.

Two gigantic green monsters were tearing through the city.

The Hulk.

And…

The Abomination.

Every collision between them resembled an earthquake.

Buildings cracked.

Cars were hurled through the air like toys.

Roads collapsed beneath their feet.

Their brutal hand-to-hand combat left devastation in every direction.

“This…”

“This is the Harlem fight.”

Raja gripped the steering wheel so tightly his knuckles turned white.

“What kind of rotten luck do I have?”

“I just wanted to go home!”

As panic began creeping into his heart…

A deep, ancient voice echoed inside his mind.

A voice unlike the System’s emotionless tone.

It carried arrogance.

Power.

And amusement.

“Kid.”

Raja froze hearing it.

“….”

“Why are you trembling?”

The voice almost sounded disappointed.

“Have you already forgotten who you are?”

“Forgotten whose power now flows through your veins?”

The corner of Raja’s eye twitched.

“…Zarathos?”

A chuckle echoed through his soul.

“Finally figured it out.”

Raja sighed hearing the confirmation.

“So…

you’re awake.”

“I have always been awake.”

The ancient Spirit of Vengeance watched the battle with obvious interest.

“Those two brutes are amusing.”

Then his voice became filled with anticipation.

“So stop behaving like a frightened rabbit.”

“Join the fun.”

Raja’s face immediately darkened.

“Join the…”

He stared at Hulk throwing Abomination through an apartment complex.

“…Are you insane?”

“They’ll turn me into tomato paste!”

Zarathos laughed hearing his complaint.

A laugh that sounded like flames consuming an entire kingdom.

“Such little faith.”

Ignoring the demon for the moment, Raja suddenly remembered something.

“System.”

“Yes, Host?”

“I met Peter Parker.

And Ned.”

“Why haven’t I received any experience points?”

The System answered immediately.

“Important Character Detection requires direct contact.”

Raja blinked caught off guard.

“…Direct contact?”

“Correct.”

“Examples include:”

”

• Physical contact.

• Contact through abilities or attacks.

• Soul interaction.

• Certain special circumstances.”

“Visual observation alone is insufficient.”

“…”

“…”

Raja’s shoulders slumped.

“Damn…

I should’ve shaken Peter’s hand.”

He smacked his forehead.

“I was so busy thinking about everything else…”

“What a waste.”

Forty…

Maybe fifty experience points…

Gone.

He silently cursed his habit of zoning out.

‘Next time…

Handshake first.

Think later.’

Looking back toward the battlefield, Raja slowly shifted the car into reverse.

“Nope.

I’m leaving.”

“I have absolutely no intention of becoming collateral damage.”

Almost the instant those words left his mouth…

A military attack helicopter appeared overhead.

Its missile launcher locked onto Abomination.

WHOOSH!

A missile streaked across the battlefield.

Raja’s eyes widened.

“Oh, thank God…”

Before he could finish celebrating…

Abomination caught sight of it.

With perfect timing, he swung a massive chunk of concrete at the incoming missile.

The projectile’s trajectory changed instantly.

Instead of exploding against Abomination…

It began spinning wildly through the air.

Straight toward Raja.

“…”

“…”

Raja stared at the spiraling missile.

The missile stared back.

For a brief moment…

Time itself seemed to slow.

“…Seriously?”

He pointed accusingly at the heavens.

“Is Fate personally targeting me today?”

Even Zarathos sounded entertained.

“Interesting.”

Raja’s eye twitched violently.

“Interesting?!

It curved!”

“It actually curved!”

“What kind of Marvel physics is this?!”

The missile smashed through the Camaro’s windshield.

CRASH!!

“…Motherfu…”

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

A massive explosion engulfed the entire vehicle.

Fire erupted into the sky.

The shockwave shattered nearby windows.

Metal fragments scattered across the street.

Within seconds…

The once-pristine yellow Chevrolet Camaro had become nothing more than a burning wreck.

Black smoke rose into the air.

Twisted steel crackled beneath dancing flames.

Nearby civilians screamed and fled in terror.

Yet only a few hundred meters away…

Neither Hulk nor Abomination paid the explosion any attention.

Their battle had reached an even more savage stage.

Every punch they exchanged created thunderous shockwaves.

Every leap crushed roads.

Every collision sent chunks of concrete raining across Harlem.

To everyone watching…

The burning Camaro was merely another casualty.

Another unfortunate victim caught between two monsters whose fight was rapidly turning the city into a war zone.

Meanwhile,

Only a few hundred meters away, two monsters continued to wage a battle that shook the entire borough of Harlem.

BOOM!

Hulk was sent crashing through the side of an office building, burying himself beneath tons of concrete.

The building groaned before partially collapsing, sending clouds of dust rolling through the streets.

Abomination slowly straightened his massive frame before cracking his neck.

“Heh…”

“Is that all you’ve got?”

Before the dust could even settle…

ROAAAR!!

A deafening roar erupted from the rubble.

The next instant, an enormous green fist burst through the debris.

Hulk charged.

The asphalt beneath his feet exploded with every step.

Seeing the straightforward attack, Abomination smirked.

“So predictable.”

Unlike Hulk, Emil Blonsky hadn’t lost his mind after his transformation but it got twisted.

His military training remained intact.

Years of combat experience allowed him to analyze every movement with frightening precision.

Just before Hulk’s punch connected, Abomination pivoted to the side.

The fist missed by mere inches.

Grabbing Hulk’s arm, Blonsky used his momentum against him before slamming the giant into the pavement.

BOOM!!

The road shattered.

Before Hulk could recover…

Abomination drove his knee into Hulk’s ribs.

Then followed it with a brutal elbow strike.

Slash!

The jagged bone protruding from Abomination’s elbow tore across Hulk’s shoulder.

Green blood splattered across the broken street.

Hulk roared in pain.

Unlike ordinary attacks…

Those razor-sharp bone spikes could actually injure him.

Abomination didn’t give him time to recover.

Punch.

Kick.

Elbow.

Throw.

Every strike flowed into the next with practiced precision.

It wasn’t merely brute force.

It was technique.

The difference between an experienced special forces soldier and an enraged child.

Each exchange ended with Hulk taking another hit.

Watching from a nearby command vehicle, General Thaddeus Ross clenched his fists.

“Damn it…”

“Blonsky’s combat experience is giving him the advantage.”

Another officer looked at the battlefield through binoculars.

“Hulk is stronger physically…

but he’s fighting entirely on instinct.”

General Ross nodded grimly.

“Hulk has overwhelming raw strength.”

“But Blonsky still has the tactical mind of a trained soldier.”

“He’s exploiting every opening.”

As if to prove the point…

Abomination ducked beneath another wild punch before driving both elbows into Hulk’s back.

CRACK!

The impact forced Hulk onto one knee.

Military helicopters immediately seized the opportunity.

“Target locked!”

“Fire!”

Several missiles streaked across the battlefield.

WHOOSH!

WHOOSH!

WHOOSH!

The explosions engulfed Abomination in smoke and flames.

The military wasn’t trying to kill Hulk.

They were doing everything possible to assist him.

Because if they failed…

S.H.I.E.L.D.

would inevitably step in.

And if S.H.I.E.L.D.

had to clean up a disaster created by a U.S.

military experiment, it would leave a permanent stain on the military’s reputation.

General Ross refused to allow that.

“We hold the line!

No matter what!”

The smoke slowly dispersed.

Abomination casually stepped out.

His skin was blackened in places, but the injuries were already healing.

He brushed the dust from his shoulders before laughing.

“That’s your plan?

You call that support?”

His mocking laughter echoed across Harlem.

The soldiers tightened their grips on their weapons.

None of them dared lower their guard.

Then…

Abomination looked back toward Hulk.

His grin widened.

“Come on.”

“I thought you were supposed to be the strongest there is.”

He spread his arms mockingly.

“Entertain me.”

Hulk slowly climbed to his feet.

His breathing had become noticeably heavier.

His massive chest rose and fell like a bellows.

The wounds covering his body began healing at a visible pace.

At first glance…

Nothing seemed different.

But if someone had been paying close attention…

They would have noticed subtle changes.

His shoulders had become broader.

The muscles in his arms swelled even further.

The veins across his body bulged beneath emerald skin.

His posture became more imposing.

Even his height…

Had increased ever so slightly.

An inch.

Then another.

Almost imperceptible.

Yet it was happening.

Every blow.

Every wound.

Every insult.

Every second of combat.

Fed the furnace of Hulk’s rage.

And with that rage…

Came power.

More strength.

More durability.

More speed.

More raw, uncontrollable might.

Abomination, intoxicated by his apparent advantage, failed to notice the gradual transformation.

In his mind, Hulk was weakening.

He saw only a beast losing ground.

He didn’t realize that every moment the battle continued…

He was unknowingly creating an even greater monster.

Hulk slowly raised his head.

His green eyes, once filled with pain, now burned with something far more rage then before.

Something far more dangerous.

He clenched both fists.

The ground beneath his feet cracked.

Then, in a voice that reverberated through the ruined streets like rolling thunder, he uttered two words.

“HULK…

SMASH!”
