No wonder I didn’t run into Obadiah!
Roy sighed inwardly.
Tony stared at him with a terrible expression and said, “Obadiah took the miniature Arc Reactor.
I’m paralyzed.
There’s something in the workshop…” “I know what’s down there.
I saw the gift Pepper gave you.” With that, Roy turned and headed downstairs toward the workshop.
Before long, he returned to the living room carrying the glass display case containing the miniature Arc Reactor.
A sentence had been engraved around the circular mount holding the reactor.
“Proof That Tony Stark Has a Heart.” Roy walked over to Tony, smashed the glass case, and took out the miniature Arc Reactor.
He glanced at the empty cavity in Tony’s chest, then at the reactor in his hand.
With a sigh, he said, “I’ll go find Pepper.
Hang in there a little longer.” His hands weren’t particularly large.
He could easily reach into the cavity in Tony’s chest and install the miniature Arc Reactor himself.
But Roy had absolutely no intention of doing it personally.
For one thing, he didn’t want to stick his hand inside another man’s chest.
For another, he didn’t want to touch the pus-like fluid inside.
He knew it wasn’t actually pus.
It was electrolyte fluid produced by the device’s operation.
But he still didn’t want to touch it.
Tony weakly said, “There’s no time to find Pepper.
Just help me—” Before Tony could finish, Roy vanished from his sight.
The next instant, Roy reappeared on the rooftop of Stark Industries headquarters.
He hadn’t left a Flying Raijin formula on Pepper, so he couldn’t teleport directly to her.
But finding Pepper and bringing her back to Tony’s mansion wouldn’t take much time.
Chakra Sensing!
Without any effort, Roy immediately locked onto Pepper’s location.
Body Flicker Jutsu!
The next second, his figure disappeared from the rooftop.
Half a minute later, Roy returned to Tony’s seaside mansion with Pepper.
The moment Pepper saw Tony slumped on the sofa with a pale face, she immediately grabbed the miniature Arc Reactor and rushed over to him.
She reached into the cavity in his chest.
Having already replaced Tony’s miniature Arc Reactor once before, Pepper completed the installation quickly.
The reactor was back in place.
But Tony’s complexion was still awful, and his body remained paralyzed.
Time slowly passed.
More than ten minutes later, the numbness finally began to fade.
Tony took several deep breaths before allowing Pepper to help him to his feet.
Then he looked at Roy seriously.
“I’m going to arrest him myself.” “You just protect Pepper.” “You’re the client.
Your call.” Roy replied.
Tony nodded.
Just as he was about to head downstairs to the workshop, put on the Mark III, and personally deal with Obadiah, Pepper stopped him.
“You don’t need to take that risk.” “We can contact the police or federal agents and have them arrest him.” “The police and agents can’t handle him.” “Obadiah has an Iron Man suit too.” “And his is bigger than yours.” Roy took the USB drive out of his pocket and tossed it toward Tony.
Tony caught it immediately.
“Then that’s even more reason for me to arrest him myself.” Downstairs in the workshop.
Under Roy and Pepper’s gazes, Tony completed the Mark III suit-up sequence.
“Is there anything we need to do?” Pepper asked.
“Call Rhodes.” “Tell him to stop the military from scrambling fighter jets.” With that, Tony closed the faceplate of his helmet and blasted through the section of ceiling he’d already smashed through a few days earlier.
Pepper took out her phone and began searching for Colonel Rhodes’s number.
At the same time, she turned toward Roy.
“I’m safe here.” “Can you follow him and make sure he’s okay?” “I’m afraid something might happen to him.” “Of course.” Roy replied immediately.
Even if Pepper hadn’t asked, he would’ve followed anyway.
There was no way he was missing this show.
“Then I’m counting on you.” Pepper said.
“No problem.” The moment those words left his mouth, Roy vanished like a ghost.
Flying Raijin Jutsu!
He didn’t lock onto the Flying Raijin formula on Tony.
Instead, he targeted the formula he’d left on the rooftop of Stark Industries headquarters.
Even though Tony was currently flying at high speed, Roy could still teleport directly to his side if he wanted to.
Being able to lock onto a moving Flying Raijin formula was a prerequisite for using Flying Raijin: Second Step.
Not long after mastering the Flying Raijin Jutsu, Roy had also picked up both Flying Raijin: Second Step and Flying Raijin Slash.
Perhaps his proficiency wasn’t high enough yet.
Or perhaps the system considered Flying Raijin: Second Step and Flying Raijin Slash merely combat applications derived from the Flying Raijin Jutsu rather than independent techniques.
Whatever the reason, neither appeared separately in the ninjutsu section of his status panel.
After arriving on the rooftop, Roy took Gaara’s small gourd out of his system storage and fastened it around his waist.
Sand Cloud!
The sand inside the gourd rapidly poured out and condensed into a sand cloud.
Roy stepped onto it and flew toward the facility containing the large Arc Reactor.
The factory housing the large Arc Reactor was very close to Stark Industries headquarters.
It didn’t take long before Roy arrived above the factory building.
At almost the same time, Tony arrived as well.
“Why are you here too?” Tony’s voice came through his armor.
“Didn’t I tell you to protect Pepper?” “She was worried you wouldn’t be able to handle Obadiah, so she asked me to keep an eye on you.” Roy replied.
“Where is Obadiah now?” Tony asked.
“Sector 16 beneath the reactor.” Roy answered.
“Don’t interfere yet.” “If I need your help, I’ll tell you.” Tony continued.
“No problem.” Roy nodded.
Tony wasted no more time and descended toward the entrance of the factory building.
At that exact moment— Obadiah, wearing the Iron Monger armor, climbed out of the ground behind him.
“You don’t want to keep making weapons.” “And yet you’ve created the most advanced and powerful suit of armor of this era.” “I don’t particularly enjoy fighting personally.” “But I have to admit…” “I really like this armor!” Obadiah said to Tony.
Tony didn’t respond.
He attacked immediately.
He raised both hands and fired the Arc Pulse Cannons from his palms.
WHOOSH!
WHOOSH!
Golden pulse beams struck the Iron Monger armor with perfect accuracy.
And left only two impact marks across its surface.
They failed to penetrate the armor!
Clearly, the repulsor blasts from Tony’s palms weren’t powerful enough to pose any real threat to Obadiah.
Once he realized Tony’s attacks couldn’t pierce his armor, Obadiah’s mocking voice rang out again.
“Your attacks are too weak!” Before Tony could respond, Obadiah controlled the Iron Monger armor and charged straight at him.
He threw a right punch.
Tony tried to block it.
But the Iron Monger armor was clearly stronger than the Mark III.
BANG!
A single punch sent Tony flying dozens of meters before he crashed heavily into the street outside.
Obadiah didn’t give him any opportunity to recover.
He immediately rushed over and kicked Tony.
There was no suspense whatsoever.
Tony was sent flying like a soccer ball.
What followed unfolded exactly as Roy had expected.
Neither Tony nor Obadiah had received any real combat training.
However, thanks to the Iron Monger’s overwhelming advantage in size and raw strength, Obadiah simply pinned Tony down and beat the hell out of him.
Tony couldn’t even get back to his feet.
Obadiah’s attacks had no technique whatsoever.
Just simple punches and kicks.
Yet Tony still couldn’t resist.
He was beaten so badly that he had virtually no chance to fight back.
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
Tony instinctively raised both arms to protect his head.
Just as Obadiah lifted his right foot and prepared to stomp down hard on Tony’s helmet again— A mass of sand shot forward like an octopus tentacle.
It wrapped around Tony’s right arm and yanked sharply, dragging him out from beneath Obadiah’s foot.
Before Tony could react, Roy’s voice reached him.
“When you get the chance, find a coach and learn some hand-to-hand combat.” “Your fighting skills are terrible.” …
