Ethan and Hannah began their separate moving journeys.
The process kept them busy until evening before they finally finished moving everything.
After taking a shower, the two sat together on the sofa in the living room and watched a horror movie.
Hannah felt incredibly happy.
It felt almost as if she had already entered married life.
“Hannah, how about we invite your mother and your brother over tomorrow?”
“I’ll invite my parents and my sister too.”
“We can all have dinner together.”
Seeing the happy expression on Hannah’s face, Ethan suddenly had an idea.
Hannah didn’t seem surprised.
“Sure.”
“You can arrange everything.”
“Then…”
“Tomorrow, let’s tell everyone that we’re engaged.”
Ethan looked at Hannah.
This time, Hannah immediately turned her head and stared at him in disbelief.
Tears of happiness almost flowed from her eyes.
Ethan gently pulled her into his arms.
“I told you before.”
“As long as you don’t dislike me, I’ll never abandon you.”
“Once we’re both eighteen, we’ll get married.”
“Yes.”
“Yes, okay.”
“I’ll listen to you.”
Hannah was so happy that she cried.
She leaned her head against Ethan’s shoulder and spoke softly.
In the United States, the general legal marriage age was eighteen, although the exact requirements varied from state to state.
Some states required men to be twenty-one.
Others allowed marriage at eighteen.
New Jersey, Washington, and several other states even had laws that could allow marriage at much younger ages under certain circumstances.
It was rather surprising.
Based on those laws, Ethan and Hannah could potentially get married earlier by following the marriage laws of certain states.
However, Ethan still decided that they should get engaged first.
They would wait until they were both eighteen before getting married.
Ethan was eighteen now.
Hannah was still seventeen, with a little less than a year before reaching eighteen.
So they only had to wait a little longer.
Less than two years at most.
Although most of what Ethan had experienced in his previous life told him that marrying too young usually didn’t end well, he didn’t care.
People could become tired of each other after spending too much time together.
They could even become annoyed by their partner’s personality.
But when Ethan looked at Hannah sitting beside him with tears of happiness in her eyes, he sent all those worries flying away with his Paw-Paw Fruit.
He had already chosen Hannah.
And he would never regret it.
The next morning, Ethan woke up early.
He was busy helping prepare for the family dinner when he received a call from Tony.
Tony told him that the things he had requested were ready.
He could come over and test them.
Ethan thought about it for a moment.
He decided to use his ability to quickly travel there, test everything, and then return.
Although using his ability in broad daylight could attract attention, wearing his mask would solve that problem.
After telling the equally busy Hannah that he was leaving for a while, Ethan changed his clothes and put on his mask.
Then he left.
New York was already bustling early in the morning.
The streets were filled with hurried pedestrians and vehicles.
Yet, among all those people, something strange was happening on the rooftops.
A figure stood on top of one building.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared on the roof of another building far away.
His posture hadn’t changed at all.
The bizarre scene was noticed by a man exercising on the rooftop of a distant building.
As the figure continued getting closer, the man’s jaw nearly dropped.
Then—
“Whoosh!”
The figure suddenly appeared directly in front of him.
The man was so frightened that he fell backward onto the ground.
He stared at Ethan in terror.
Ethan was about to ignore him and continue on his way.
Then the man’s excited shout nearly made him stumble.
“Bear-Man!”
“You’re Bear-Man!”
“The Bear-Man who defeated those two monsters on Broadway!”
Ethan turned around.
The voice had come from the frightened man lying on the ground.
The man was now staring at him with excitement.
“Bear-Man?
My ass!”
“Call me Bear Bro!”
Ethan roared angrily.
Ethan had learned about his new nickname from the news the day after he sent Hulk flying.
“Bear-Man.”
That was the name people had given the mysterious and powerful young superhero.
He wore a strangely cute costume and seemed to have an inexplicable obsession with bears.
Ethan had never accepted the name.
Hannah had teased him about it countless times.
She actually thought the name was adorable and liked it very much.
Ethan, however, absolutely refused to acknowledge it.
He had his own plans.
There’s still a chance.
There’s still time.
After the Avengers are formed and the Battle of New York happens, I’ll use that opportunity to come up with a much cooler superhero name.
Then I’ll spread it everywhere.
That was Ethan’s plan.
After shouting at the man, Ethan noticed the man’s bewildered expression.
He realized that he had lost his temper.
He didn’t bother explaining.
His ability activated again, and he continued traveling across the rooftops.
Someone might wonder why Ethan didn’t simply give himself one powerful repulsion and fly directly to Tony’s house.
Ethan’s answer was simple.
He was practicing.
He wanted to become more proficient at rapidly moving around his enemies and launching attacks from different directions.
Besides, helicopters frequently flew around New York.
He didn’t want to accidentally crash into one.
Even if he didn’t hit a helicopter, he might end up destroying someone’s property.
Most importantly, Ethan had an idea for a new ability.
He needed to experience that instant when something was repelled.
If he could grasp that moment…
Maybe he could develop something even more powerful.
