Evan changed clothes in the alley, swapping the disguise for a casual tracksuit.

He was seventeen.

He now looked fourteen.

Evolution was the reason.

The cocoon had reversed his apparent age by three full years.

According to Venom, the human body was closest to pure at birth.

After that, age, food, air, stress, and damage all left marks.

Evolution was purifying Evan’s body by stripping some of that away.

It sounded mystical if explained badly, but the result was physical.

Evan did not hate it.

He did worry about the math.

If one evolution shaved off three years, what happened after several more?

Would he become a baby?

He shoved the thought away.

Appearance was the smallest part of the change.

The real gains mattered more.

This evolution had given him Beast Speech, a younger body, and another major increase in strength.

The first three symbiotes had unlocked his evolution and doubled his overall physical ability.

The twenty-four at Fisherman’s Wharf had doubled it again.

Venom described it like training.

The first gains came fast.

The next ones cost more.

Later, each step would demand dozens, hundreds, maybe thousands of symbiotes.

But the power would keep rising.

Even without Venom covering him, Evan’s body had already moved beyond ordinary human limits.

His strength, speed, senses, and recovery were climbing into superhuman territory.

If he kept evolving, he would eventually stand beside the monsters and legends around him.

Or above them.

Once dressed, Evan walked through San Francisco’s night streets, following the scents that only he and Venom could read.

He had already found his next target.

After the latest evolution, his senses had sharpened again.

He could roughly feel how many symbiotes were in the city and where they gathered.

Twenty minutes later, he stopped outside a downtown club called Mad Night.

Four tall bouncers in black stood at the door.

Evan’s stomach gave a low growl.

“Hey,” one bouncer said, blocking him.

“This is a club.

No kids.

Members only.”

Evan smiled.

His eyes turned flat, milky white.

The four bouncers saw the change and stepped aside without another word.

Evan walked past them and pushed through the door.

Blood hit his nose first.

Then music.

The club was split into an inner dance floor and an outer ring of bars and tables, but it was not a normal club.

Every person inside carried a symbiote.

Millions had hidden among humanity.

Of course they had built their own circles.

Their own places to gather, feed, and play.

Mad Night was not a nightclub.

It was a symbiote club.

Evan scanned the room and smiled.

Nearly two hundred of them.

“Venom,” he said inside his head, “ready?”

“So much food,” Venom purred.

“Good.

Start.”

Black slime covered Evan in an instant.

Venom lunged at the nearest host.

The body came apart before anyone could scream, and Venom devoured the symbiote inside.

The music was too loud.

The patrons were too busy feeding on humans and each other to notice immediately.

Venom became a predator loose in a pen.

In seconds, more than a dozen were dead.

Only then did the room understand.

“It’s Venom!”

Someone recognized him.

The music cut off.

Every head turned.

The crowd closed in, and one by one, the hosts let their symbiotes surface.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
