Although lamenting his terrible gacha luck, Russell opened the detailed description of the reward.

If he remembered correctly, he had separated Super Vision and Heat Vision in his original design.

Because in his eyes, Super Vision was a support utility while Heat Vision was an offensive attack—two completely different rewards.

He never imagined that after transmigrating, the reward pool wouldn’t be identical to his original setup; Super Vision and Heat Vision had merged into a single reward!

“Looks like my luck hasn’t completely hit rock bottom!

I still have a chance to strike gold!”

Talk about a silver lining!

Russell had thought the second Apostle Reward he had fought so hard to obtain would be a purely supportive ability, but the RNG gods had secretly given him a boost, keeping him from sinking entirely into terrible luck.

Just as Russell was celebrating that his luck wasn’t total trash, the reward—Superman Clark’s Super Vision—began silently fusing with him.

And then came an unavoidable, excruciating pain.

“Holy shit!

Are you playing with me?!”

When fusing X-ray vision, microscopic vision, and telescopic vision, Russell felt no discomfort.

However, when fusing Heat Vision, his eyes felt as if they were melting, giving him a taste of pain that penetrated straight to the bone.

To the onlookers, Russell was clutching his head, kneeling painfully on the ground, with blinding red light leaking through the gaps between his fingers.

The intense pain in his eyes left Russell no time to think about anything else—it even made him forget that right in front of him stood Mutated Jack, who was trying everything to beat him to death.

As an excellent warrior, Mutated Jack certainly wouldn’t pass up such a perfect opening.

In the blink of an eye, Mutated Jack was in front of Russell.

If Russell took that blow, even with his enhanced body, he would be crushed into a pile of meat paste.

Just when everyone thought Russell was dead for sure, and even Mutated Jack felt he had achieved his revenge ahead of time, Russell suddenly released his hands covering his eyes.

Russell hadn’t noticed Jack’s attack.

The only reason he moved his hands was that the heat rays firing from his eyes were severely burning his palms.

Russell had no idea how hot the heat rays from his eyes were; all he knew was that his hands couldn’t take the heat.

Once Russell freed his hands, the heat rays burst forth from his eyes like twin red laser beams, flying straight ahead along his line of sight.

Directly in Russell’s line of sight was only one target: the mutated Jack.

Thus, Mutated Jack—who was supposed to crush Russell into meat paste—was instead struck squarely by the heat rays and sent flying backward.

Even after blasting Mutated Jack away, the heat rays firing from Russell’s eyes didn’t stop.

Before these twin beams capable of melting steel, the walls and ceiling of the training grounds shredded like paper, creating a scene of apocalyptic destruction.

By the time Russell’s heat rays had reduced most of the training grounds to ruins, he finally succeeded in fusing the nearly lethal Heat Vision with the help of the Dionysium factor.

As the heat rays dispersed, Russell’s eyes shifted from fiery red back to their normal black color.

Looking at the ruined training grounds before him, he realized just how terrifyingly powerful the heat rays he had obtained truly were.

“I knew it!

How could my luck be that bad?!”

“How could a transmigrator have bad luck?

I’m blessed!

I’m definitely blessed by RNG!”

At this point, Russell had no dissatisfaction with his second Apostle Reward; in fact, he was beyond thrilled.

At the edge of the training field, Allen and the others didn’t know what had just happened to Russell, but seeing him display such divine power by blasting Mutated Jack away, their tense hearts finally relaxed.

“Alright, time to settle this once and for all!”

On Jack’s body were two prominent, scorching wounds that covered his entire abdomen.

The green fluid that had once flowed over his entire body was completely dried up, replaced by blackened, charred ash.

Though mutation had robbed Jack of some of his sanity, it didn’t mean he had lost all ability to think.

After experiencing Russell’s Heat Vision firsthand, Mutated Jack knew he had completely lost any hope of victory.

Even now, the two wounds on his abdomen were emitting shocking amounts of heat, continuously devouring his life force.

He was no longer thinking about how to beat Russell to death, but how to escape alive.

As long as he survived, there would be another chance for revenge.

As a veteran warrior, Jack wasn’t the kind of idiot who would blindly charge ahead when he knew he couldn’t win.

Although Russell didn’t know Jack’s exact thoughts, he guessed Jack’s next move.

*He wants to run!

He wants to leave this place alive!*

Mutated Jack might have had that plan, but it depended on whether Russell would cooperate.

Ever since transmigrating to this damned base, Jack had caused him endless trouble.

It was time to settle a month’s worth of grudges once and for all.

Just as Mutated Jack leaped into the air, Russell’s eyes once again fired the devastating heat rays.

This time, Russell aimed directly at Jack’s legs.

Even though he had just fused the Heat Vision ability, this power—which struck precisely wherever he looked—was remarkably easy to use.

“Boom!”

Without suspense, Russell’s heat rays struck Mutated Jack’s legs, sending him crashing back down into the training field like a meteor, shattering his plan to escape through the hole in the ceiling.

“Farewell, Supervisor Jack!”

The moment Mutated Jack hit the ground, Russell gave him no room to breathe, blasting him with the heat rays once more.

Under the relentless burning and destruction of the heat rays, Jack’s body rapidly shrank from over three meters tall down to the size of a normal human, until he was reduced to a completely lifeless charred husk.
