Bright’s Masterpiece, the Infinite Pizza!
19: Chapter 19: Dr.
Bright’s Masterpiece, the Infinite Pizza!
Site Base, B2, Biomass Conversion Lab.
Accompanied by low rumbles and the agonizing roars of some creature, the floor of the entire laboratory trembled slightly.
“Perfect!
Simply perfect!” Dr.
Jack Bright stood before the console, arms waving as if conducting a grand symphony.
His messy hair shook with the machine’s vibrations, and a fanatical light flickered behind his thick-lensed glasses.
Behind the massive sheet of bulletproof glass in front of him was a scene capable of giving an ordinary person nightmares.
Above a massive vat of acid, several precision mechanical arms were operating at high speed.
They were equipped with high-frequency laser cutters and powerful suction pumps.
Whenever the Hard-to-Destroy Reptile, stimulated by the strong acid, grew new muscle tissue through adaptive evolution to resist corrosion, the laser blades would fall with surgical precision.
They sliced away the newborn, high-energy biomass.
“Roar—!!!
Insects!
Despicable insects!!!” The Reptile’s roar was filled with endless fury.
It attempted to fight back, but every time its claws grew, they were severed; every time a hard shell formed, it was stripped away.
The excised chunks of flesh were immediately sent via conveyor belt into a nearby “Biomass Conversion Furnace.” There, they were decomposed and incinerated, converted into pure electrical energy that flowed continuously into the base’s energy storage center.
“Look, Director!” Bright pointed at the soaring energy readings on the screen and spoke excitedly to Levi, who stood behind him.
“This is infinite energy!
To combat the cutting, the Lizard has to accelerate cell division, releasing massive amounts of bioenergy.” “With just a little acid and some lasers, we get the output of a nuclear power plant!” “And the most important thing—it’s renewable!” “As long as the Lizard doesn’t die, we’ll have electricity forever!
We can even produce some byproducts on the side, like high-strength bio-leather…” Levi looked at the scene before him.
Even though he was mentally prepared, his eyes couldn’t help but twitch.
This was a literal portrait of hell.
Only the Foundation could come up with something like this—turning an immortal monster that wanted to destroy the world into a hardworking power generator.
“Good work, Doctor,” Levi nodded.
“But watch your step.
Don’t push it too hard.
If it evolves some kind of anti-cutting force field or self-destruct capability, you’ll be the one going down there to fix the furnace.” “Don’t worry, Director.
I’m an expert at managing pain.” Bright licked his lips, revealing a chilling smile.
*** After leaving the lab, Levi felt his stomach protest.
“Damn, I was so busy with infrastructure that I forgot lunch.” He glanced toward the base cafeteria.
Over there, they only had the nutrient paste eaten by C-class personnel and the compressed biscuits Hank liked.
For the stomach of a Huaxia transmigrator, that was pure torture.
“System, open the Lifestyle Store.” Levi browsed the dazzling array of items as he walked.
Having just secured a massive sum for containing 682, he could finally improve his quality of life.
[Universal Coffee Machine: 4,000 Containment Points.] “Too expensive, maybe later.” [Infinite Canteen: 800 Containment Points.] “Not short on water, don’t need it.” Suddenly, his eyes locked onto a familiar item.
[Infinite Pizza Box: 2,000 Containment Points.] [Description: A seemingly ordinary pizza box.
When opened, it automatically generates the pizza the opener most desires in their subconscious.
Infinite supply, always hot.] “That’s the one!” Levi snapped his fingers.
“It solves my food problem and takes care of the meals for those C-class personnel and agents.
It’s a boon for a capitalist…
I mean, a philanthropist.” “Exchange!” In a flash of light, a cardboard box with a “Little Caesars” logo appeared out of thin air in his hand.
Levi took a deep breath of the doughy aroma wafting from the box, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
“Perfect.
The tenant upstairs is probably hungry too.
Using this to farm some shock points would be delightful, wouldn’t it?” *** Back on the surface, Sunny Apartments, third floor.
It was now noon.
Natasha was sitting on the living room sofa with a fashion magazine in her hand, but her mind was elsewhere.
Since the middle of last night, the building had been vibrating faintly.
The tremors were slight, not like an earthquake, but more like some massive machine operating deep underground, occasionally punctuated by muffled roars that seemed to come from a hellish abyss.
“What on earth are they doing down there?” Natasha’s mind was a mess.
Ever since seeing that cryo-canister last night, her intuition had been on high alert.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
Knock, knock.
“Ms.
Rushman, it’s lunchtime.
Care to grab a bite?” Levi’s voice came from outside.
Natasha’s eyes flickered.
She quickly adjusted her expression, adopting a lazy demeanor before going to open the door.
“Mr.
Landlord?
Perfect timing, I’m starving.
I was just about to order takeout.” Opening the door, she saw Levi holding the pizza box he had just redeemed from the store.
“No need to order.
My treat.” Levi smiled as he walked into the room, casually placing the pizza box on the coffee table.
“Just a regular pizza?” Natasha looked at the slightly greasy cardboard box, a hint of suspicion in her heart.
This didn’t seem like Levi’s style.
“This is no ordinary pizza.” Levi sat on the sofa and gestured for Natasha to do the same.
“This is the Wish-Fulfillment Pizza.” “Wish-Fulfillment?” Natasha arched an eyebrow.
“Are you saying it can become whatever flavor I want?” “You can try.” Levi made a gesture.
“When you open it, silently think of the flavor and toppings you want most.” Natasha looked at Levi’s half-smile.
Though she didn’t believe it, she played along and reached out.
As a Russian and an agent, she actually missed a traditional flavor she had eaten as a child in Stalingrad—rye dough base, topped with pickles, smoked sausage, and plenty of cheese.
This eccentric flavor was impossible to find in New York.
“Fine, let’s see your magic trick.” Natasha repeated the flavor in her mind and then flipped the lid.
The next second, a familiar scent of sour-salt and smoke hit her nose.
Natasha’s pupils dilated instantly.
Lying quietly in the box was a steaming pizza.
Rye crust, pickles, smoked sausage…
it was exactly like her memory!
“This…” Natasha snapped her head up to look at Levi.
“Did you investigate my dietary preferences?” “I’m not that bored.” Levi shrugged.
“Give it a taste.
See if it’s right.” Natasha hesitated, then picked up a slice and took a bite.
Crispy, rich, and with just the right amount of tang.
This was absolutely not something a New York pizza parlor could produce.
She finished the slice in a few bites, looked at the remaining pieces in the box, and suddenly had a thought.
*What if I want something else?* She closed the lid and this time thought of a very common “Hawaiian Pizza” with pineapple and ham.
She opened it again.
The original rye pizza was gone, replaced by a golden pizza covered in pineapple chunks and ham slices!
“This is impossible!” Natasha was thoroughly shocked.
She checked the bottom of the box—no hidden compartments, no mechanical parts, and it was still hot.
It was just an ordinary cardboard box!
“What’s the principle?
Molecular restructuring?
Or an illusion?” Natasha stared intently at the box, her professional instincts kicking in.
“This is the Infinite Pizza Box.” Levi picked up a slice of pineapple pizza and stuffed it into his mouth, speaking around the food.
“It’s a relatively safe anomalous item.
No matter who opens it, it automatically generates the pizza the opener subconsciously desires most.
Inexhaustible and everlasting.” “No charging required, no ingredients needed—the perfect counter-example to the Law of Conservation of Mass.” Looking at the steaming box, Natasha felt a chill run from the soles of her feet to the top of her head.
The Gauss rifles, the gel, and the oxygen stripping from before were advanced tech, but they still felt within the realm of “science.” But this box…
it broke the most fundamental law of physics—the conservation of matter!
If this technology could be analyzed…
wouldn’t that mean infinite food?
Infinite resources?
“Just how many of these irrational things do you…
people…
possess?” Natasha’s voice trembled slightly.
“A lot.” Levi wiped his mouth and closed the box.
“So many that if we released them all, every physics textbook in the world would have to be rewritten.
Newton wouldn’t even be able to keep his coffin lid down.” “So, Ms.
Rushman.” Levi looked into Natasha’s emerald eyes, his tone becoming more serious.
“What you’re seeing now is just the tip of the iceberg.
This world is far more fragile and insane than you imagine.” “We aren’t playing with technology.
We are guarding insanity.” Just as the atmosphere turned heavy, Levi’s phone suddenly rang.
It was a text from Hank.
[Director, a new anomalous fluctuation has been detected.
Not in New York this time.
Brazil.] [Keywords: Anger, Green Giant, Military Pursuit.] Levi glanced at the message, a glint flashing in his eyes.
“It seems our pizza time is over.” Levi stood up and grabbed the Infinite Pizza Box.
“Enjoy your meal, Ms.
Rushman.” With that, Levi turned and left.
He left Natasha alone, plunged deep into thought.
*** Back at the underground command center.
“Hulk?” Levi looked at the satellite map on the large screen.
The area marked in red was Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
“Yes, Director,” Hank reported.
“General Ross’s troops are mobilizing there.
Intelligence suggests they are pursuing a target codenamed Mr.
Green.” “Bruce Banner.” Levi whispered the name.
The Hulk—one of the top combat powers in the Marvel world.
But to the Foundation, he was more like a walking, humanoid anomaly.
“A big guy like that…
he’s actually quite valuable.” Levi rubbed his chin.
The Hulk gets stronger the angrier he gets, which is a bit like the Reptile.
But the Reptile is immortal; while the Hulk has high regenerative powers, he hasn’t reached the level of conceptual immortality.
“However, if we can get a blood sample from Banner, or…
give him a little counseling…” Levi thought of the [Telepathic Muffling Alloy] in the store.
“Prepare the aircraft.” Levi issued the command.
“Since General Ross can’t handle it, let’s go help him out.” “Besides, I want to see which is harder: the Hulk’s fist, or our containment items.”
