Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The ruins of a favela.
Vroom—!!!
As the “Sonic Resonance Sedation Matrix” ramped up to full power, the effects were instantaneous.
The American soldiers on the perimeter, who had been firing their weapons, suddenly felt the world spinning.
Their eardrums throbbed with agonizing pain.
The worst-affected fell to their knees and began to vomit, completely losing their ability to fight.
At the center of the sonic waves, the Hulk’s reaction was far more violent.
“Roar…
head…
hurts!!!” The Hulk clutched his massive head with both hands, dropping to one knee in agony.
The resonance drilled directly into his inner ear’s vestibular system.
The strength he took such pride in felt like it was punching cotton; even standing firm had become a luxury.
Moreover, specific frequencies within the sound waves were forcibly interfering with his pituitary gland, attempting to suppress his skyrocketing adrenaline.
“That box…
too loud!!!” A flash of predatory rage flickered in the Hulk’s clouded green eyes.
Though his mind was a blur, his primal instincts told him the source of his pain was the glowing silver metal crate before him.
Boom!
The Hulk lunged forward, his feet carving two deep craters into the asphalt.
Weathering the sonic suppression, he charged at the metal crate like a cannonball.
“Target is attempting to destroy the suppression equipment!
Intercept!” Hank’s cold voice crackled over the comms channel.
Without a moment’s hesitation, three members of Alpha Squad, their exoskeleton power systems whining at maximum output, stepped directly into the Hulk’s path.
“Deploy Deflection Force Field Shields!” Hum!
Hum!
Hum!
Three pale blue Energy Shields expanded instantly in front of them, interlocking to form a semi-transparent wall of light.
A split second later, the massive green fist collided with it.
Thud—!!!
A dull, heavy explosion of sound followed.
A terrifying physical force—enough to flatten a main battle tank—slammed into the shields.
The blue wall flickered violently, like a windowpane rattling in a hurricane.
“Warning!
Shield energy overload!
Estimated collapse in 3 seconds!” “Hold the line!” The three soldiers gritted their teeth, leaning into the impact.
Although the shields blocked the direct damage, the sheer kinetic energy pushed them back several meters, their boots carving brilliant sparks against the ground.
But that was enough.
Those three seconds of delay gave Hank the perfect opening.
“Flank him!
Use the high-polymer adhesive foam!” The other squad members fired their specialized launchers, spitting out large quantities of gray foam.
The material hardened instantly upon contact with the air, plastering the Hulk’s legs and left arm like quick-setting cement, temporarily pinning him in place.
“Roar—!!!” The Hulk struggled in a fury, the foam on his body emitting sharp cracking sounds.
“I am…
the strongest!!!” Crack!
One soldier’s shield finally shattered.
He was caught by the Hulk’s freed left arm and sent flying like a broken kite, crashing heavily into the nearby ruins.
“D-302 signal lost!
Vital signs are weak!” “Ignore him!
Execute the mission!” Hank didn’t look back.
His eyes were fixed solely on the Hulk’s exposed green carotid artery.
He pushed his exoskeleton to maximum power, leaping high into the air like a black steel spike, landing directly on the Hulk’s back.
“Get off!
Bug!” The Hulk reached back, trying to swat Hank away.
But Hank was as nimble as a flea.
He flipped to dodge the massive hand while simultaneously driving a specialized titanium alloy sampling needle toward the Hulk’s neck.
Clang!
A crisp metallic sound rang out.
The needle failed to pierce the Hulk’s skin, leaving only a tiny white mark.
“So this is the hide that can withstand nukes…” Hank’s gaze narrowed.
He immediately activated the miniature plasma cutter built into the needle.
Sizzle—!
The high-temperature beam instantly burned through the Hulk’s epidermal defenses.
Pfft!
The needle finally sank into the blood vessel.
“Roar—it hurts!!!” The Hulk let out a piercing scream of agony.
The foreign sensation of his blood being drawn sent him into a total frenzy.
He threw himself violently against a nearby wall, trying to crush the “flea” on his back.
Rumble!
Rumble!
The entire building shook as bricks and debris rained down like hail.
Hank held on for dear life, his body being battered and bruised, but the sampling device remained rock-steady in his hand.
“Extraction in progress…
50%…
80%…” “Hurry!
The shield energy is tapped out!” The shield generator on Hank’s suit began to emit black smoke.
“100%!
Sampling complete!” As the indicator light turned green, Hank ripped the sampler out.
Before letting go, he shoved a high-yield flash-bang stun grenade into the wound on the Hulk’s neck.
“Goodbye, big guy.” Hank kicked off the Hulk’s shoulder, using the recoil to catapult himself backward.
Bang!
Blinding light and a deafening roar exploded right next to the Hulk’s ear.
Even for the Hulk, taking such a blast at point-blank range left his eyes rolling and his head spinning.
He staggered back several steps and slumped down into the rubble.
“Retreat!
Grab the wounded!
We’re leaving!” Hank hit the ground and rolled to dissipate the momentum.
He locked the sampler—filled with glowing green blood—into a specialized cryogenic case and fired a flare into the sky.
Vroom— A black transport plane, which had been hovering in the clouds, descended rapidly and lowered several high-strength recovery cables.
The Alpha Squad members hooked themselves on with practiced ease.
“Sonic matrix self-destruct sequence initiated.
Countdown: 10 seconds,” Levi’s voice echoed in the comms.
“Don’t leave anything useful for Ross.” “Understood.” As the transport plane climbed, the temperature inside the metal crate on the ground began to rise sharply.
Just as the Hulk finally recovered from the stun and smashed the box that had caused his headache with a furious fist— Boom!!!
The internal self-destruct device detonated, grinding all core components into powder and leaving behind nothing but a pile of scrap metal that defied reverse-engineering.
“Roar—!!!” Standing in a sea of fire, the Hulk let out a roar of frustrated rage at the black plane disappearing into the sky.
But he didn’t give chase.
The series of attacks—especially those strange sonic waves—had actually left him feeling a rare sense of exhaustion.
Meanwhile, in a command vehicle further away.
General Ross stared at the monitor as the mysterious plane vanished into the clouds.
His face was ashen, and the cigar in his hand was crushed to dust.
“Those bastards…
they’re treating my Hulk like a blood bank?!” “Find them!
I don’t care how much it costs or how many resources it takes.
Find out who that plane belongs to!
And find that man named Levi!” “I want them to know the consequences of stealing military assets!” …
Tens of thousands of feet in the air, inside the cabin.
Levi looked at the blood sample emitting a faint green glow inside the cryogenic case and smiled with satisfaction.
[Ding!
Congratulations to the Host for completing the Emergency Side Mission: The Raging Green Beast.] [Reward: 3000 Containment Points.] [Obtained Special Item: Space-Folding Backpack (10 Cubic Meters).] “Not bad.
This trip wasn’t a waste.” Levi toyed with the new gear, which looked like an ordinary tactical backpack.
“With this, it’ll be much more convenient to go out and ‘restock’ in the future.” “Head back.
Return to New York.” “I imagine Dr.
Bright is already impatient to add some new fuel to his generator.”
