'She's staring at my hands a little too much,' Sebastian thought.

Deadpool had already left. The bastard really had taken a hundred boxes of ammo and, as if that weren't enough, a brand-new katana. A box of twenty rounds cost $45, making the ammunition $4,500. Add the $2,000 katana and the total came to $6,500.

The discount had been $975. Just thinking about it made Sebastian's chest ache. But Deadpool was his friend. He'd helped Sebastian once, before the shop had even opened. Four thugs had tried to rob him. The world's population shrank by four that day. What a coincidence, right?Full novel: Marvel: The Superheroines Can’t Leave Me Alone! Sebastian was stingy, but he wasn't ungrateful. He'd given Deadpool a Magnum that very day. He couldn't open the shop yet; legally, he had to be at least twenty-one.

"I thought you only sold to people with proper paperwork," Natalia said from beside him.

"Wade Wilson. I have his documents. He has all the necessary permits." Sebastian had made him produce them before selling him any weapons.

"He looked like a killer." Natalia narrowed her eyes.

"And being a killer means you can't have your paperwork in order?" Sebastian asked indignantly. "Cops and soldiers kill people too."

"They operate within the law."

"Whose law? You talk like the world isn't rotten to the core." Sebastian yawned. "His papers are in order. How'd he get them? No idea. Wouldn't surprise me if the government gave him a special permit." After all, they might need someone willing to do their dirty work now and then.

Natalia fell silent, watching his reaction.

Sebastian turned on the television. The news was on. TONY STARK MISSING IN THE MIDDLE EAST.

Sebastian glanced at Natasha. She frowned at the news. She didn't seem to be friends with Stark, but she understood what his disappearance could mean for the entire world. Tony Stark was a weapons designer. If his expertise fell into another country's hands…

Sebastian didn't look worried. He had faith Stark would survive. And if he didn't, well, that would be good for business, wouldn't it? With SHIELD watching him, it was only a matter of time before they approached him with an offer.

Or an assassination order.

Sebastian hoped for the former. It would be a shame if Natasha left.

Ding! Ding!

The doors swung open. A man walked in. He had a military crew cut, rough but well-defined features, and a battered physique. He wore a jacket over a T-shirt with a skull on it.

"Oh, Frank, you look pissed. Ah, I see." He was carrying an M16 with a bent barrel. "You're not supposed to use those as crowbars," Sebastian teased.

"Yeah, I think I've got a barrel in storage. Wait here." Sebastian kept a variety of gun parts in the storeroom.

It was really just a small room that only he ever entered. Several disassembled guns lay inside. He picked up a barrel and returned to the counter.

"You can't smoke in here," he heard Natasha say.

Sebastian slowed his steps, wanting to see how Frank would react. To his surprise, despite giving her a nasty look, Frank put his cigarette away.

'He never listens when I tell him that,' Sebastian thought. Now he understood Deadpool. Betrayal never comes from your enemies.

"I'm back," he announced. "Want a full inspection?"

"How much?" Frank asked.

"Four hundred total. Three-fifty without the inspection," Sebastian said. Frank grumbled something that sounded a lot like 'fucking rip-off,' but nodded.

Sebastian began by disassembling the entire rifle. Then he inspected each component. Most were fine, but the extractor was damaged.

"What?" Frank asked when Sebastian looked at him.

"How the hell did you do this?"

"A fucking spider," Frank muttered.

"A spider?" Natalia asked, surprised.

"Yeah, a spider," Frank repeated sourly. "You got anything tougher? Something that could take the weight of a steamroller?" Sebastian nearly laughed.

'Trouble with Spider-Man?'

"Yeah. It isn't cheap, and you should know that by now." Frank's eye twitched. An ordinary M16 could cost around $2,500. A modified one that did what Frank wanted… well, Sebastian could sell it for: "Five thousand dollars."

Frank's eyes widened. Cheaper than he'd expected. Sebastian's weapons already performed better than ordinary ones, but this would be on another level. A gun that could last generations without needing maintenance.

If he priced it realistically, it could go for as much as $10,000. But who the fuck would buy that?

"Seriously?" This time, it was Natasha who asked.

"Yeah. You can pay in installments," Sebastian told Frank. "Just remember, its limit is spiders. If you expect it to stand up to a big green guy, you might be disappointed." You are reading on novelping . com, the official source.

"Can I test it?" Frank asked.

"Let's go to the shooting range," Sebastian said.

"We have a shooting range?" Natalia asked.

"Yeah, out back. If you want to come, put up the Closed sign."

Natasha discovered a spacious shooting range at the back of the shop. A door beside Sebastian's bedroom led to it. She hadn't paid attention to it before.

'How the hell does all this fit in here?' Natasha wondered.

She wasn't sure the building was big enough to hold the store, Sebastian's house, and a shooting range in the back. It was far too much for a place that looked so small from the outside.

"I'll never understand how the fuck this fits inside your house," Frank grunted.

Frank now held a new M16 in his hands, the one Sebastian had offered him. Natasha studied it. This was exactly the kind of weapon SHIELD had been examining so closely.

All the weapons in the shop were good, better than anything else on the market. But every so often, gems like this one appeared among them. Weapons enhanced beyond anything normal.

Most common were the bullets. Even small-caliber rounds could punch through bulletproof vests as if they were paper. There were rifles that tore through armored equipment as if it were made of aluminum foil.

Natasha listened as spent casings hit the floor. Frank was a good shot; she'd have to look into him later. Either he was incredibly strong, bordering on super-soldier level, or the rifle had no recoil at all.

"Sebastian," she called. He stopped talking to Frank. "Mind if I try?" she asked with a smile.

"Sure." Sebastian handed her the rifle. Frank made a face that almost looked like a pout. "You haven't bought it yet," Sebastian reminded him.

It was light. That was the first thing Natasha noticed. Aiming it felt like holding a small pistol. She fired, and the bullet struck the target. There was no recoil. None.

'Sixty thousand dollars,' she thought. Sebastian paid her $45 an hour. She'd have to save for months to afford one without blowing her cover.

When she looked back at Sebastian, he was watching her without a hint of surprise. Frank, on the other hand, was eyeing her suspiciously. Natasha handed the rifle back with a smile.

"I'll go open the shop." As she left the room, she caught a glimpse of Frank approaching Sebastian out of the corner of her eye.

'Did I fucked it up?'
