“It burns!” A searing pain shot along the veins of his right hand straight into his heart.

“Ugh!” Zack Shaw groaned uncontrollably.

His palm felt as if thousands of needles were stabbing into it.Full novel: Marvel: This Spider-Man Knows Magic — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Venom spread rapidly along his veins, numbing his entire arm until he lost all sensation.

He had clearly been curled up in his rented apartment, pulling an all-nighter reading Marvel fanfiction.

How could he suddenly be in this much pain?

Snapping his eyes open, a blinding white light made him squint.

The mirror clearly reflected a teenage boy’s face—pale, skinny, wearing an exaggerated pair of round-framed glasses, with messy brown hair clinging to his forehead.

“Mr.

Parker?

Mr.

Parker, are you okay?!” An anxious female voice exploded beside his ear, and someone reached out to support his shoulders.

Zack’s mind buzzed as if a floodgate had been smashed open.

Countless unfamiliar memory fragments surged in like a tidal wave: Midtown High School…

a biology field trip…

Oscorp’s genetic laboratory…

a genetically modified spider escaping its incubator, landing silently on the back of his hand, and delivering a vicious bite…

And a name slammed clearly into the depths of his consciousness—Peter Benjamin Parker.

*I’ve transmigrated?* That was the only thought left in Zack’s mind.

He had transmigrated as Spider-Man, Peter Parker.

Under the double impact of the massive memory dump and the spider venom, his vision flickered with dark spots, and the noise around him grew distant.

He felt himself being helped out of the lab and onto a bright yellow school bus.

A gray-haired biology teacher sat beside him, muttering something about taking him to the nurse’s office.

Later, a pair of warm, strong arms picked him up.

Peter forced his eyes open with effort and saw a face lined with age, white hair neatly combed, eyes filled with undisguisable worry.

Uncle Ben.

The moment that name crossed his mind, an indefinable warmth welled up within him.

The car drove away from the city, turned into a quiet suburban neighborhood, and finally stopped in front of a modest little house.

He was carried into a soft bed, and the moment his head hit the pillow, his consciousness sank completely into darkness.

*** That sleep turned his world upside down.

Countless memories that did not originally belong to him flashed rapidly through his mind: the embarrassment of being bullied by the school brute, the hot meals Aunt May served when he came home from school, the spare parts and chemical reagents piled in the basement, as well as astonishingly complex physics formulas and biological gene charts.

Zack, who had just been an ordinary office worker in his past life, now looked at these obscure formulas with a sense of familiarity carved into his very bones.

Peter Parker’s genius brain, along with this body, now belonged to him entirely.

After an unknown amount of time, Zack gasped heavily and woke up with a start.

He subconsciously tried to push himself up on the bed, but the moment his palms applied force, his body shot upward light as a feather—*slap!* He stuck firmly against the ceiling.

His limbs clung securely to the wall, and the world before his eyes turned completely upside down.

“Holy shit!” Zack startled.

The moment the thought of *going down* flashed in his mind, the suction force on his fingertips abruptly vanished.

He fell straight down from the two-meter-high ceiling, but his body reacted faster than his mind.

He nimbly twisted his waist in midair, and his feet landed steadily on the mattress without losing an inch of balance.

The entire movement was fluid and natural, driven purely by physical instinct.

He raised his right hand in disbelief.

The swelling on the back of his hand had mostly subsided, leaving only two faint red bite marks.

He focused his gaze on his fingertips: between the patterns of his fingerprints were dense, microscopic sharp barbs, almost invisible to the naked eye.

His wall-crawling ability had awakened.

Not only that, but he could clearly hear Aunt May’s footsteps walking in the kitchen downstairs, smell the scent of rye flour wafting through the air, and even see the minute veins on the leaves of a tree ten meters outside the window.

Strength, speed, perception, reaction…

a complete superhuman physique was being rapidly absorbed by this body.

Zack walked over to the mirror and looked at the teenage face inside.

The original timidity and low self-esteem had faded, replaced by eyes filled with composure after the initial shock.

He had truly transmigrated.

He had transmigrated to the Marvel world and become the future Spider-Man.

Leaning against the desk, he began to quickly organize the information in his head.

This world was not a pure movie universe.

The news carried reports of Tony Stark publicly admitting he was Iron Man, the Stark Expo was being prepared in Queens, placing the timeline roughly around *Iron Man 2*; but at the same time, there were scattered news items about mutants in the newspapers, and the Fantastic Four were household public figures in New York.

This was a Marvel world fusing multiple settings, and its danger level far exceeded the original movies.

If this were his past self who used to dream about transmigrating into web novels, Zack might have jumped for joy.

But now that fate had actually landed on his own head, only apprehension remained in his heart.

He knew all too well what Spider-Man’s life was like.

The phrase “With great power comes great responsibility” bound Peter Parker for a lifetime.

Because he let a mugger escape on a single lapse of judgment, he indirectly caused Uncle Ben’s death, living with guilt ever after.

Being a hero was a thankless job, constantly slandered by the Daily Bugle as a threat to the city.

His love life was full of tragedy, and those around him could be thrust into danger at any moment because of his identity.

An ordinary person’s peaceful life, shattered into pieces by the identity of a superhero.

“No way.” Zack made up his mind almost instantly.

Uncle Ben couldn’t die.

He would never let that gentle, kind old man pass away because of a ridiculous robbery.

As for Spider-Man?

Whoever wants to be him can go ahead.

He had Peter’s genius brain.

Just developing a few inventions and applying for patents would be enough to keep Uncle Ben and Aunt May financially secure for life.

Using technology to benefit society—wasn’t that better than fighting and risking his life every day?

Living a stable, peaceful life—wasn’t that better than dancing on the edge of a blade?

Those supervillains and alien invasions had Iron Man and The Avengers to hold the line anyway.

It wasn’t up to a high school student like him to step forward.

Having made up his mind, Zack felt much more at ease.

Just as he was about to open the door and head downstairs, Aunt May’s gentle voice came from outside: “Peter?

If you’re awake, come down for breakfast!

Perfect timing, I wanted to tell you something.

Aunt Anna’s niece is moving in today and arriving at noon.

She’s new to the area and unfamiliar with everything, so keep her company a bit.” Zack’s footsteps froze.

Aunt Anna’s niece?

Mary Jane Watson?

The corners of his mouth twitched slightly.

Unbelievable.

Just as he decided to live a normal life, the familiar plot comes knocking?
