” (Cn author PS1: A quick note before we begin: This story centers on the MCU/Tom Holland version of Peter Parker, an earth-native Spider-Man who accidentally acquires the power of the “Web.” This allows him to travel to different worlds, live through the lives of various other Spider-Men, and continuously transform, evolve, and empower himself through these experiences.
Consequently, the protagonist’s personality shifts gradually from his original self; readers looking for an instantly overpowered protagonist who slaughters everyone right from the start should turn back now.
Furthermore, character personalities strictly mirror their canon counterparts—everything here can be traced back to the source material.) (Translator: Yes it’s exactly as the cn author wrote.
It was good fic for me atleast, hope y’all like.) …
“Out of the three Spider-Men, he’s the absolute worst!” “Total trash!” “Zero growth whatsoever!” “Other Spider-Men solve problems; he’s the only one who creates them!” “…” A chaotic chorus of harsh scoldings echoed in Peter Parker’s brain, making him open his eyes in irritation.
He didn’t know what was happening to him.
Ever since a spider web had suddenly materialized inside his head a few days ago, these voices would sporadically ring out right beside his ears.
“Spider-Man?
Are they talking about me?” Peter clutched his head and walked into the bathroom.
He splashed some water on his face to clear his head, then looked directly into the mirror and spoke.
About a month ago, while attending an off-campus science field trip with his classmates, he had accidentally been bitten by a spider.
That very night, he ran a high fever.
When he woke up the next morning, he realized his body had become abnormal.
Over the following week, he roughly figured out what had happened to him: he had been bitten by a spider and had somehow acquired spider powers.
He just didn’t know what he was supposed to do with these powers.
Maybe he could become a big hero who saves the world, like Iron Man and Captain America on TV?
Peter had seen the videos of Sokovia—it had happened around the same time he was bitten by the spider.
Back then, there was even a live broadcast showing the Hulk fighting a oversized version of Iron Man!
Because of that, many of his classmates felt that the Hulk should be killed.
He did disappear later, though.
Nobody knew if Iron Man had taken him away or if he had been secretly locked up.
At first, Peter worried he might end up with the same fate as the Hulk.
However, his admiration for the Avengers and his desire to become a hero pushed him to use this power.
So, he dug out a stage costume he used back when he was in the school drama club, added some high-polymer fiber materials, and created his very own hero suit!
—Just like Iron Man’s armor, Hulk’s shorts, and Cap’s Stars and Stripes.
Peter believed this suit was his very own signature look!
Next, following a strange synthesis formula that appeared in his mind, he took advantage of his school chemistry class to secretly use the school’s materials to manufacture an ultra-tough synthetic spider-silk, along with web-shooters.
And just like that, he became a Friendly Neighborhood hero.
Some people called him Spider-Man, Spider-Boy, or the Spider-Guy because of his outfit and his ability to shoot webs from his hands.
Though opinions were mixed, and plenty of people thought he was just a busybody, he enjoyed it thoroughly.
Starting a few days ago, however, things took a turn.
After that strange web appeared in his mind, weird voices started popping up alongside it.
Even though he couldn’t see who was talking, Peter had a strange gut feeling that those voices really were talking about him!
“But why badmouth me?” “Other Spider-Men?
Are there really other people out there in the exact same boat as me?” Peter wiped the water off his face and climbed back into bed.
He had to force himself to sleep.
It was already 3 in the morning, and he had something extremely important to do tomorrow!
Tony Stark, the world-famous Iron Man, had sent a letter saying he was coming to visit him tomorrow!
“Why would Mr.
Stark come to see me?
Did he figure out my secret identity and want to invite me to join the Avengers?” Peter thought expectantly, slowly closing his eyes.
As his eyes shut, that massive web inside his head involuntarily floated before his eyes once more.
Only this time, the web looked a little different than before!
On the web, a peculiar glowing dot appeared at one of the intersections among the countless threads!
“What is this?” Puzzled, Peter focused his consciousness onto that bright point.
The next second…
“Ah!” He felt as though his consciousness were being yanked straight out of his body, instantly sucked inside by that glowing point!
…
“Where am I?” By the time Peter snapped back to his senses, he was no longer lying in bed at home.
Instead, he was inside a small, claustrophobic room.
In front of him stood a small table cobbled together out of wooden crates.
Set upon the table were a few photographs and a stack of documents.
“Argh!” Peter suddenly cried out.
Inside his brain, a nerve was trembling violently.
Looking closely, he could see a glowing neural thread slowly reaching toward that bright point on the massive web in his mind.
The moment the thread connected with the point of light, countless memory fragments flooded into his brain!
The year was 1933.
New York was currently mired in the agony of the Great Depression.
After angering someone he shouldn’t have, his uncle, Ben Parker, was tortured and murdered by New York’s top extortionist, Norman Osborn, “The Green Goblin.” At the same time, the Goblin extended his dark, wicked hand toward Aunt May and him—Peter Parker—attempting to put them to death.
Fortunately, they were saved by Ben Urich, a photographer for the Daily Bugle.
Peter’s character earned Urich’s appreciation, leading him to become Urich’s assistant.
Not long ago, during a stakeout to secretly photograph a transaction between the Goblin and the mob, Peter was accidentally bitten by a spider that crawled out of a cursed spider statue involved in the deal.
In a vision, he encountered the Spider-God Anansi, which granted him mystical, formidable new abilities and turned him into Spider-Man!
Yet because of this, he discovered even more secrets hidden in the shadows.
For instance, Urich—whom he deeply respected—had actually been blackmailing the Goblin’s gang all along, taking hush money from Osborn in exchange for covering up their operations!
Just a short while ago, Urich told Peter that he intended to expose all the evidence he had secretly gathered on the Goblin!
Peter didn’t know why he had suddenly decided to do this.
Maybe his conscience had finally kicked in?
Yet that very night, he was shot dead in his own home by the man he had contacted to expose the truth—J.
Jonah Jameson!
Fortunately, Felicia Hardy took advantage of the chaos to snatch the hidden evidence Urich had kept, handing it over to Peter.
From Felicia’s mouth, Peter learned parts of the truth.
Both Urich and Felicia knew he was Spider-Man.
It was precisely because of this that Urich had decided to expose the Green Goblin and bring him to justice.
However, Felicia told him that Jonah could not be trusted!
Peter found it hard to believe.
He still remembered Jonah’s words from when Urich first brought him into the Daily Bugle: “There are a million sob stories out there, Parker.
But as far as this miserable era is concerned, not a single one of ’em is special…
until we make them special!” “I can give ’em facts and figures, but Ben’s pictures are what’ll make ’em truly understand!” “I’ll tell our readers how they oughta feel about the shithole state this city’s in!” “This dark age needs someone to step up, light a spark, and show people the darkness within the dark!
Your Uncle Ben and Aunt May were that kind of people, and so am I, J.
Jonah Jameson!” Could a man who said things like that really not be trusted?
Was this era…
truly this dark?
