That’s right—nervous.
Without Spider-Man Noir’s steady composure backing him up, he remained nothing more than his fifteen-year-old self.
Even as he constantly recalled the feeling of fusing with Noir and strove to feign calmness and maturity, under it all, he was still young and unrefined.
At times, that youthfulness couldn’t help but leak through.
Especially once he plunged into the heat of battle.
Even so, he had certainly made progress compared to who he used to be.
After all, he had taken a life with his own hands.
Back when he shot and killed the Vulture to protect Aunt May, even though Spider-Man Noir’s consciousness held the reins, Peter had experienced that sensation with absolute, firsthand clarity.
In the battles that followed—facing off against Kraven the Hunter and Green Goblin—he had been the one primarily at the helm.
Carrying those experiences with him, though he still felt a touch nervous, he was immensely better off than before.
Had this been his former self, he likely would have lost the shield to the suddenly oversized Ant-Man out on the tarmac!
Now, holding his own against both Falcon and the Winter Soldier at the same time wasn’t entirely out of the question.
Right on cue, the Winter Soldier returned.
Taking advantage of Peter’s duel with Falcon earlier, Bucky had taken the shield Peter used to hit him and hurled it through a side window to Cap, who was locked in a bitter struggle with Black Panther below.
Equipped with his shield, Cap could finally match Black Panther blow for blow.
Unfortunately, “matching” was as far as it went.
The Vibranium suit worn by Black Panther was no ordinary gear.
Wakanda’s mastery over Vibranium was nothing short of miraculous.
Exploiting its unique properties, they had engineered two variants: Vibranium A and Vibranium B.
Vibranium A was the energy-absorbing, baseline Vibranium, while Vibranium B was a modified form capable of severing the molecular bonds of many metals—including Vibranium A itself.
From a single element, they had forged a paradox: the “immovable shield” and the “irresistible spear.” The claws on Black Panther’s suit were crafted from Vibranium B.
After a few raking slashes, deep claw marks scored the surface of Cap’s shield.
Scratches on an indestructible Vibranium shield!
Cap was deeply shocked by the sight.
Yet now was no time for astonishment; he had no choice but to push through the agony of seeing his beloved shield scarred by a total stranger and press on with the fight.
Meanwhile, inside the terminal.
The Winter Soldier rushed in to free Falcon, only for Peter to kick both him and Falcon downward in one fluid motion.
A flurry of webbing followed, pinning both men firmly to the floor under a tight web-net, leaving them completely unable to budge.
“I’d love to keep playing with you guys, but I’ve got other assignments, so…” *Thwip-CLANG!* Peter twisted his torso slightly, spraying out a web-net that pinned a small drone straight to the ceiling, trapping it securely.
He glanced up at the design of the drone and called over to Falcon, “Sir, is this your kid?
Pretty misbehaved, isn’t it?” “Got any other tricks, pal?” Bucky asked.
Falcon shook his head in bewildered defeat.
“Are kids these days really this tough?” Peter shrugged.
“Bye-bye-bye.” Turning on his heel, he leaped out the window, rejoining the battle on the plaza outside.
By now, the clash out there had escalated significantly.
Cap was absorbing the combined assault of Black Panther and War Machine single-handedly.
Just as he reached his breaking point, Ant-Man pulled off a stroke of genius.
Handing Cap a miniature toy car no larger than a keychain, he pulled out an enlargement arrow and said, “Throw it at this!” Cap nodded in mild confusion, unsure of what Ant-Man was planning.
Ant-Man offered no explanation, tossing the arrow forward.
Seeing this, Cap instinctively flung the mini-car right behind it.
*Smack!* The mini-car caught up and struck the enlargement arrow mid-air.
An astounding scene unfolded before their eyes.
In an instant, the tiny car expanded into a full-sized automobile, crashing down toward War Machine like a falling anvil!
War Machine, Black Panther, Black Widow, and Peter—who had just stepped out of the terminal building—were all stunned by the sight.
The next second, reality snapped them back.
Black Panther tackled Black Widow to the ground nearby, using his Vibranium suit to absorb the explosive force for her.
Peter wanted to help, but the distance was too great, so he surged forward as fast as he could.
War Machine was a tough guy, so he took the car head-on.
*BOOM!* He was crushed right under the chassis.
The tremendous kinetic force skidded him and his armor several meters forward before coming to a halt.
War Machine scrambled out from beneath the burning vehicle, covered in soot and grime.
“Now I’m mad!” Iron Man arrived right on cue, touching down and pulling both Black Widow and Black Panther up from the ground.
Black Widow asked, “Was that part of the plan?” Iron Man shook his head.
“No…
this has gone off script.
I was trying to go easy on them.” “Are we actually going to fight them for real now?” Peter landed nearby, asking with genuine curiosity.
Iron Man’s tone turned somber, his mood clearly far from pleasant.
Hearing Peter’s question, he turned to look at him.
“What, did you think we were playing house?” “They’re heading for the jet,” War Machine noted.
“It’s fine.
Someone’s already waiting for them,” Iron Man said, steady as a rock without a trace of panic.
“Now, let’s move.” Iron Man scooped up Black Widow, while Black Panther and Peter hitched a ride on either side of War Machine.
The five of them quickly crossed the plaza, arriving at the far side.
Only then did Peter catch sight of the “sixth member” Iron Man had mentioned.
The individual had deep red skin, wore a modest gray-green outfit, and sported a flowing cape behind his back.
Most notably of all—he was floating in mid-air!
“He can actually fly?” Peter couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise.
“His name is Vision.
He’s a real powerhouse,” War Machine said.
“How powerful?” “Super, super powerful.
Plus he’s red—a kid your size might just be his favorite snack.” Peter: …
‘Do you really take me for a three-year-old?
Why do I suddenly feel like switching sides?’ While they spoke, both teams assembled once more.
This time, every single member was present and accounted for!
Iron Man’s side: Iron Man, Vision, War Machine, Black Widow, Black Panther, and Peter.
Cap’s side: Captain America, Wanda, Falcon, Hawkeye, Winter Soldier, and Ant-Man.
It had to be said that the lineup on both sides was quite fascinating.
You had the best-friend pairs of Iron Man and Cap, the couple dynamic of Vision and Wanda…
and even the banter duo of Peter and Ant-Man.
Looking at it this way, every imaginable dynamic had been stacked to the max!
One could only say that the leaders on both sides really knew how to put on a show.
To think they managed to bring all these people together like this.
And with such uncanny synergy, no less.
Yet at this moment, the atmosphere on the field was far from harmonious.
With all members present on both sides, everyone’s expression turned gravely serious.
Iron Man and Cap evaluated each other’s combat strength, realizing that neither side could “persuade” the other anytime soon!
Battle was about to erupt once more!
And this time, it would be far more intense!
