“Don’t shoot!” At that exact moment, Aunt May’s voice cried out.

But it was too late.

The Vulture had already collapsed in a pool of blood.Full novel: Marvel: Web of Fate — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

In that instant, images of the tragic deaths of Urich and Uncle Ben flashed in Peter’s mind in rapid succession.

He knew more than Aunt May did.

He knew that Uncle Ben hadn’t been left in an abandoned factory with broken legs and subsequently torn apart by wild dogs because he had offended a factory owner.

It was because that ugly-hearted factory owner had hired the Green Goblin, who brought Uncle Ben to the abandoned factory.

Then, the Vulture right in front of him had used his mouthful of sharp teeth to tear the flesh from Uncle Ben’s body piece by piece, swallowing it alive!

That was why when he found Uncle Ben’s corpse, all that remained was a bloody skeleton, along with an intact head left behind so they could identify him!

This kind of hatred…

how could he possibly endure this kind of hatred?!!

“You killed him?” “You actually opened fire on an unarmed man?” “Who do you think you are?” “Do you think you can stand above the law?” Aunt May looked at Peter in utter disbelief, hurling question after question at him.

Having regained control of his body, Peter found himself at a complete loss for words facing Aunt May’s line of questioning and the look in her eyes.

“But he was going to kill you…” he stammered.

“Kill me?

Yes, so you want me to thank you for it?

Is that what you want?” Aunt May appeared aggressive, almost overbearing.

Peter stared blankly at Aunt May, saying nothing, not even knowing what to say.

As if seeing his eyes through his black goggles, Aunt May froze for a moment, the rest of her words dying in her throat.

Taking a deep breath, she turned her back on him and said with a touch of desolation, “Child, I want to tell you something.

In an era like this, people like us are nothing more than weeds…

If everyone abandons the rules, then we truly become nothing at all…” “We human beings shouldn’t live in a world where we slaughter each other like animals!” Peter fell silent once more.

He could understand Aunt May.

She, Uncle Ben, and the person he used to be were all merely extraordinarily humble members of this dark era.

Yet she and Uncle Ben had constantly used their humble bodies to do what they believed absolutely had to be done.

They fought against despicable entrepreneurs who intentionally withheld wages, and against ugly pharmaceutical merchants who deliberately hiked up drug prices.

They were like fireflies, trying to use their feeble glow to drive away the darkness of this era.

And what was the ultimate result?

Uncle Ben was taken by the Green Goblin and eaten alive by the Vulture.

Aunt May had almost suffered a terrible fate as well!

Even he himself had been attacked by the Green Goblin’s gang not too long ago!

If it hadn’t been for Urich, he might already be dead.

“Ma’am, I understand.

But what you don’t understand is that some people will never abide by your rules.

Those people…

might just abide by mine!

And my rule is violence!” People like Aunt May would stand in the light to illuminate the world.

While people like him were destined to remain hidden in the dark.

He was Peter—the Peter who came from the 21st century—but he was also Spider-Man, Spider-Man Noir!

Peter turned and left.

He was going to resolve this matter once and for all.

He didn’t know how time flowed between this world and his own, but based on his understanding, he had likely entered this world from his own by utilizing a method similar to quantum entanglement, possessing the body of Mr.

Spider-Man Noir.

Therefore, theoretically speaking, the time in both worlds should be synchronized, at least during the period of his possession.

On his end, there were still about four hours left until morning.

Mr.

Stark had mentioned he would visit in the morning, so as long as he returned within four hours, everything would be fine.

After briefly sorting through his affairs, Peter began pondering where the Green Goblin’s gang might be located.

If nothing unexpected happened, the other two people who could become his allies—Felicia and Jonah—were likely both there right now.

“The meatpacking plant!” “Urich’s files referred to that place as the Execution Chamber, the Green Goblin gang’s go-to ‘office location.’ Barring any surprises, it should be right here, shouldn’t it?” Peter stood atop the roof of a factory building.

He spotted a skylight, but it was locked.

That was no obstacle for Peter, however.

He extended both hands, gripped one side of the skylight, and exerted a sudden burst of power.

Under dozens of tons of massive strength, the skylight quickly deformed before being ripped entirely off!

Peter casually tossed the mangled skylight aside; nobody should expect him to pay compensation for this.

Besides, if all went smoothly, the Green Goblin’s gang wouldn’t even exist after today.

Who would come to demand compensation from him?

Peter crawled down along the walls, his keen sense of hearing quickly picking up human voices.

Following the sound, he finally caught sight of his target for this trip.

Below were two massive cages.

Locked inside one cage was the kidnapped J.

Jonah Jameson, bound in heavy chains and looking gaunt and emaciated, clearly having suffered no small amount of torture.

In the other cage was a massive tiger.

Peter had seen it in Urich’s files—it was Kraven the Hunter’s companion.

Several people stood before the cages.

“Green Goblin” Norman Osborn, Kraven the Hunter, and…

Felicia!

Sure enough, Felicia had been dragged here as well.

“Oh~ Felicia, my dear, whatever shall I do with you?” The Green Goblin said, standing with his hands in his pockets as he looked at Felicia.

“Hmph, you can apologize to me, Osborn,” Felicia maintained her usual icy demeanor; after all, as the owner of the Black Cat Bar, she was a ruthless character who wouldn’t hesitate to kill, “and then you can have one of your goons hail me a cab.” “Hail a cab?

Heh heh heh~” The Green Goblin let out an odd laugh, “I admire your bravado, my dear, but it won’t do you any good.” Saying that, he pointed to the cage beside them: “Why don’t you ask Jameson over there?

He cursed at me for a whole week, yet he still can’t escape the fate of having his guts ripped out and dying.” “J-Jameson!” Felicia turned her head to look, only now noticing the person locked in the corner cage, utterly shocked.

“Why so surprised?” The Green Goblin clicked his tongue, “Oh~ right!

You thought Jameson was shot dead by Spider-Man a few hours ago, didn’t you?” “However, I know that news because I have an informant at City Hall.

What about you?

How did you know?” “Let me guess, let me guess, my dear~” The Green Goblin slowly paced back and forth beside Felicia, “Spider-Man is in touch with you, isn’t he?

Is he your little toy boy?

You sent him to kill Jameson, didn’t you?” Felicia’s face turned somewhat grim: “Just like you sent Jameson to kill Ben Urich?

Do you think you’re clever, Osborn?” “What do you mean?” The Green Goblin’s face instantly darkened, his eyes glaring intently at Felicia.
