Phil Coulson was a Level 8 S.H.I.E.L.D.
agent, a model agent of America, and one of the most trusted subordinates of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Director Nick Fury.
He possessed exceptional organizational and execution abilities.
He was an ordinary man in the Marvel Universe, a world filled with superheroes, yet he was also one of the hardest-working people in that universe—because whenever something involving a superhero came up, he was practically guaranteed to be the one sent to deal with it.
This extremely hardworking agent, who was deeply trusted by the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., had recently been busy dealing with everything related to Tony Stark.
Ever since Tony’s kidnapping, Coulson had begun investigating the entire incident, which eventually led him to discover Lancelot—the strange armored man who had appeared beside Tony.
The investigation into Lancelot proceeded very smoothly.
Making use of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s resources, Coulson easily discovered that Lancelot’s first appearance in the United States had been in New York, where he had emerged from a small church in Brooklyn.
As a result, they immediately began monitoring the church where Amakusa lived.
Mash, who was always near Amakusa and had such a “unique” hair color, naturally caught Coulson’s attention.
The reason was that the armored man’s hair color was also extremely distinctive—purple—while this girl’s was pink.
Although there was no evidence proving a direct connection between the two, Coulson’s intuition told him that there had to be a relationship.
Reality proved that Coulson’s guess had not been wrong.
There was indeed a connection, and it was a very close one.
The girl claimed that she and the man were father and daughter.
However, whether this was actually true or not, Coulson could not yet determine, because the girl appeared to have absolutely no interest in the man.
After obtaining a little information whose usefulness remained uncertain, Coulson did not stop monitoring Amakusa’s church.
After all, there was a girl there who claimed to be the suspect’s daughter, and the suspect had already entered and left the church twice; there was no guarantee there would not be a third time.
Therefore, while deploying personnel to search for Lancelot outside, Coulson continued assigning agents to monitor Amakusa’s church.
However, the church was not their primary focus; their main focus remained Tony.
At the church, he only assigned two people to take turns watching the place and observing whether there was any suspicious activity.
As usual, Coulson, who was far away in Los Angeles, continued moving around Tony’s location while gathering information every day from his subordinates stationed in various places.
Among those reports was also information from Amakusa’s church.
“Fifty million dollars?
Tony Stark’s personal account transferred fifty million dollars to the church’s account?
And he told the bank that it was his own account?”
Seeing the information in the latest report, Coulson felt somewhat confused.
But confused or not, he continued reading.
“All fifty million dollars were used to buy up Stark Industries stock?
This…
what exactly is he doing?
Creating a dummy account to secretly maintain control over his own company?”
“Or is he using a dummy account to increase his ownership of the company’s stock so the price doesn’t fall too sharply?
But the amount isn’t even that much, only fifty million dollars.
Stark Industries isn’t a company that can be influenced by fifty million dollars alone.
Besides, why use this church’s account?”
It had to be remembered that this church was connected to that suspicious man.
How could Tony have become involved with this church?
What exactly was going on with that armored man?
Who was he, really? Get faster updates on g.com.
Lancelot?
Coulson did not believe that anyone was actually named that.
Alongside his curiosity, he continued reading the rest of the report.
“Two days later, another person appeared at the church: a little silver-haired girl who has now started attending a school near the church?
Her origins are unclear, and it is unknown how she entered the church.”
“American population records contain no information on this child, and orphanages have no records of her either.
It is estimated that she is not American, and she may be European.
What is going on here?”
The situation surrounding this church left Coulson even more confused.
Tony had suddenly given them fifty million dollars, then that fifty million dollars had been used to buy Stark Industries stock, and now another little girl had appeared, who was possibly European.
This church seemed to be hiding secrets he knew nothing about.
“Agent Phil, we have a new report here.”
Just as Coulson was overwhelmed by confusion, one of his subordinates brought him another new report.
“A new report?”
“Yes.
We found some information from inside Stark Industries related to the recent news.
We believe it may be connected to the Tony Stark kidnapping incident.”
Hearing his subordinate’s words, Coulson immediately took the report and read it.
The report was very brief.
Its main point was that Obadiah Stane was suspicious, particularly because of a recent weapons transaction that had apparently sold weapons to a terrorist group in Afghanistan.
“Quickly, send several agents here.
We’re going to Stark Industries.”
Obadiah might be able to conceal certain things within Stark Industries, but a large quantity of weapons leaving the company could not have its trail erased completely.
S.H.I.E.L.D.
was still capable of tracking it.
And because these weapons had been arranged by Obadiah, he naturally became the primary suspect.
◆━⊰✿✧✿⊱━◆
At the same time, Obadiah, whose suspicious activities had already been detected by several parties, also began making his move.
After returning from Afghanistan with the blueprint Tony had left behind in the cave, he immediately ordered the factory to begin research and production.
Because the technology in Tony’s blueprint was already mature and only required a few minor modifications before it could be put directly into production, the enormous Iron Monger armor had now been completed.
Unfortunately, although they had successfully built the armor, they had failed to create its power source.
This situation left Obadiah extremely frustrated.
The Arc Reactor—he knew that its energy came from that device.
Tony had shown it to him once, and the moment he saw it, he immediately understood what the device was.
However, he was unable to miniaturize the enormous Arc Reactor, and neither could his research team.
As his researchers put it: they were not Tony Stark.
With no other choice, Obadiah prepared to play rough.
After all, he knew Tony already suspected him, so there was no longer any point in continuing to hide.
Thus, Obadiah went to Tony’s villa.
Without Tony realizing what was happening, he immediately used the device that had previously been used to incapacitate the terrorist leader in Afghanistan to knock Tony down, then took the Arc Reactor that was always attached to Tony’s chest.
Because Tony was not injured, losing the Arc Reactor would not kill him immediately.
Therefore, Obadiah dragged Tony over to the bathtub in his villa and threw him inside.
After hurling a series of threats and cruel words at Tony, Obadiah turned on the faucet, allowing Tony to slowly drown, then left the place. Get faster updates on g.com.
Unable to move his body, Tony could only helplessly watch as the water slowly submerged him, eventually covering his mouth and nose.
Only at the very last second was Tony pulled from the water by someone.
Staring at the purple-haired armored man standing before him, Tony did not feel like cursing him for once.
Instead, he burst into loud laughter.
“Seriously, this is the first time I’ve ever been so happy to see you break into my house without giving a damn about the door!
I mean it!”
Author’s Note: Regarding the Comparison Between the Nasuverse (Nasu-verse / Type-Moon) and Marvel
Regarding the power-scaling comparisons between Marvel and the Nasuverse that have appeared in the comments, as a beginner author, I want to make my position clear: I have never said that the Nasuverse is superior to Marvel, nor have I ever said that Marvel is superior to the Nasuverse.
My original statement in the first chapter was: The level of danger in the Marvel world is no lower than that of the Nasuverse.
What I meant was that both worlds are equally dangerous.
I never intended to say that the Nasuverse is superior to Marvel, and of course, I never said that Marvel is superior to the Nasuverse either.
Please don’t twist my words.
As for which one you think is stronger, that is up to each of you.
If you think the comparison makes no sense, that is also your business.
Feel free to argue with people who share your wavelength, and please don’t accidentally hurt this beginner author who is still learning.
I’m a beginner.
I don’t know every piece of lore and setting that all the masters discuss.
I’m simply someone writing this story because I love it!
I’m not an extremely rigid author; I’m just a fanfiction writer.
You understand, right?
I’m still new to this and, so to speak, still a child, so please be understanding and tolerant.
If you think there is a problem with the power scaling, please find people who actually disagree with you and argue with them, and don’t randomly lump me into either side.
I’m just a fanfiction writer.
If you keep cornering a beginner who doesn’t know anything, then even if a beginner can’t win an argument, once I’ve been pushed too far and get annoyed, I can still mute people and delete their comments.
For example, I just deleted a comment from one master because he said I had no planning whatsoever and was only riding on Marvel’s popularity.
Isn’t that nonsense?
I’m writing fanfiction, of course I’m making use of its popularity!
But if you say I have no planning, I won’t accept that.
I’m just too lazy to argue, so I simply deleted the comment and muted him.
Besides, even if I explained myself, I’d probably still get attacked.
And because that person doesn’t have a reader account, he won’t be able to see this even if he sends me a private message, so I’m sorry about that.
Unless you ask someone else to tell me in the comments that you won’t target the wrong person again, I won’t remove the mute.
As for the abilities of the Marvel characters in this book, I will write all of them entirely according to their Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) versions.
The timeline may then be altered slightly for the sake of the story’s development, particularly when it comes to Spider-Man—after all, there are far too many versions of this character in the films.
Meanwhile, the powers of the characters on the Nasuverse side will be written according to my love for the characters.
After all, isn’t this a game played with love?
But I will not give them excessive cheats.
So let’s read this book calmly and peacefully.
If you want to argue with each other, don’t hurt me.
Your hearts should be filled with love!
