10 – “Chief Instructor, Song Yuan has a nosebleed”
Song Yuan lowered her eyes with a faint smile, reaching out to touch his chest. “Saltwater, spring water, and saline.”
The word “saline” inexplicably lit a fire between the two of them.
Huo Yuzhou looked at her, then bent down to meet her gaze. “Depends on how you drink it.”
“Standing, sitting, or lying down…”
Song Yuan’s ears grew hot, but she refused to lose ground. “With chest muscles as hard as yours, Chief Instructor, I should be able to wipe away plenty of tears sitting in your lap.”
Huo Yuzhou could read her emotions at a glance and pressed further. “Sitting, or doing it sitting?”
“I like doing it sitting.” Song Yuan cast a teasing glance, reaching up to touch his Adam’s apple.
Huo Yuzhou grabbed her wrist and whispered something by her ear.
On the training ground.
Standing in formation, Song Yuan’s mind was completely blank, his words—”But what does that have to do with me?”—floating through her ears.
He’d mastered the art of playing hard to get!
Watching the Chief Instructor explain the mission before them, he was as stern and unsmiling as ever.
Song Yuan’s eyes unconsciously drifted downward.
One look—oh my god!
The area between his waist and legs looked like a bomb had been stuffed there!
Suddenly, she felt a rush of heat in her nose.
“Report!”
“Chief Instructor, Song Yuan has a nosebleed!”
Song Yuan: ?
She reached up and touched her fingers, seeing the bloodstain. A wave of intense embarrassment washed over her.
Getting a nosebleed from looking at a man!
How utterly pathetic!
Seeing this, Huo Yuzhou immediately told her to go rest on the side.
Song Yuan felt her whole body burning, afraid that if she stayed any longer, blood would pour from all seven orifices. She quickly fled the area.
The formation training continued.
One hour of standing posture—everyone’s middle fingers had to press against the center seam of their pants, palms flat against the fabric.
Huo Yuzhou held a deck of playing cards, walking behind them from time to time, slipping a card between their palms and pants.
Everyone knew that if the card fell, they were done for!
But when he got to Nian Yu, the moment Huo Yuzhou slipped a card in, Nian Yu casually grabbed it in his hand.
Bang!
Huo Yuzhou kicked him out of the formation. “What the hell do you think this is, playing drop the handkerchief with me?”
“You just reach out and grab it!”
Nian Yu defended himself weakly. “I thought you wanted me to hide it so no one would find out.”
Huo Yuzhou’s eyes turned icy. “If I stuffed a bomb in there, would you grab that too?”
“Then hide it in your crotch so nobody could find it!”
Just then, Song Yuan had stopped her nosebleed and was about to rejoin the formation, but hearing those two sentences, her head went hot and she turned right back around.
Why did he have to bring up bombs and crotches!
On the other side, the scolded Nian Yu couldn’t argue back. He crouched down and did fifty frog jumps in one go.
He could barely stand up afterward.
By the time morning training ended, Song Yuan, facing the training ground across from her, was leaning against the shade of a tree, nearly asleep.
But a voice landed behind her—
“Wipe your drool.”
Hearing the voice, Song Yuan jolted awake, immediately reaching for the corner of her mouth—but there was no drool at all.
She looked up. It was the Chief Instructor.
She’d kept her composure all morning, and nearly looked down there again. Instead, she fixed her gaze on his brows and eyes. “Usually, the drool at the corner of my mouth comes from down below.”
Huo Yuzhou looked at her. “If you’re craving it, stick a teething stick in your mouth.”
Instantly, Song Yuan’s ears burned. “The one at home won’t do. Is the Chief Instructor willing to sacrifice himself for others?”
Huo Yuzhou said coldly, “I have no plans to work as a server at the moment.”
Song Yuan asked, “And in the future?”
Huo Yuzhou replied, “In the future, I’ll have…”
“A wife.”
Hearing him call out “wife,” Song Yuan’s heart pounded wildly. She was about to respond.
But Huo Yuzhou reined in his emotions, cutting off her train of thought. “Come with me to the office.”
Song Yuan thought to herself: Office play?
She was all for it!
Who knew—it was the doctor’s office.
In short, the infirmary.
Except it was a deluxe version.
Song Yuan looked at the full set of medical facilities, spread across several floors with departments for everything. Wasn’t this just a hospital set up inside the base?
She didn’t know which door she’d walked through.
Before she could react—
“Lie down.”
Huo Yuzhou told her to lie on the body examination table.
Song Yuan asked him, “Do I need to take my clothes off?”
