"This... how is this possible...."

Waves of shock and surprise spread across the room, as everyone could not believe what their eyes were seeing.

With the settling of the dust, the fight had ended, yet what they saw made them begin to doubt reality.Full novel: Max-Level Comprehension: I Create Magic in the Apocalypse — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"......"

Silence.....

No one said a word as they tried to rally their thoughts and process what had just happened.

It wasn’t until about a minute that Christian’s boisterous laughter broke through the room.

"Hahah! As expected of my grandson!"

"I never once doubted you!"

"Good! Good!"

Laughing with joy, could he not be happy?

With the smoke and dust settled, the figure of Ethan standing with a bloody smile and his hand through Marcus’s chest was reflected in the hall.

Coupled with the reflection of sunlight from the rooftop window, the figures of Ethan and Marcus looked like a piece of art attracting everyone’s admiration.

In his seat, Christian seeing both of them like this unknowingly began to replay what had just happened.

His birthday party which he had intended to celebrate like usual was interrupted by some supernatural madman.

And when he thought he was going to die, his favourite grandkids suddenly arrived and one of them even displayed more strength than the intruder.

Such a situation, even if he lived two more lifetimes he never could have imagined he would one day experience something like that.

’However, although it’s good that we won, the fact that both my grandson and that Marcus kid seemed to have that inhuman strength proves one thing.’

’This isn’t an isolated incident, if that’s the case then perhaps the Smith family, or even the Blue Star as a whole is in trouble.’

Resting his chin on his arm, Christian’s eyes turned deep as he began to analyze the current situation.

Using the same intuition that allowed him to grow the Smith family when he was younger, he gradually came to a conclusion.

If his guess was correct, then perhaps more and more people in the future would become superhuman just like his grandson and Marcus.

’Also if whatever gave them sudden strength also applies to animals, then not just the ruling class but humanity as a whole would be in serious trouble.’

’Also is there a prerequisite to attaining such strength? And what are its limits?’

The more he thought of this the more Christian realized the seriousness of the matter.

Although they had managed to survive this one event, but if his guesses were true.

Not only would this not be the last, but the future was probably more dangerous than this.

Thinking of this, he once again couldn’t help but glance at his grandson standing tall and victorious with a smile on his face.

Perhaps there was still hope.

"Alfred, it seems Ethan has passed out while fighting that monster Marcus."

Noticing that Ethan wasn’t moving, Christian could guess what happened.

This grandson of his probably passed out from using too much strength.

Looking at his bloody figure, he couldn’t help but feel a tinge of pain in his old heart.

"Alfred! Get the best doctors and carry my grandson somewhere safe."

"As for the guests, tell them they must not be allowed to report or speak about anything that happened here today or face the full onslaught of the Smith family."

"And Elena she’s probably worried so let her be with her brother."

"Also search for any news regarding any cases like what happened here today! Don’t miss anything!"

Silently making a decision, Christian began to act. Regardless of whether his worries were true or not, he had to ensure a way out for the Smiths.

’Argh....’

’My whole body hurts! Where am I and what happened??’

Groaning in pain, Ethan tried to move but he couldn’t.

Opening his eyes, he suddenly realized that his whole body was bound with bandages from head to toe.

Only his eyes, nose, and mouth were exposed as even his arms and legs were all propped up leaving him lying on the bed in a somewhat awkward position.

’Wait a minute, these injuries!’

’Argh!!’

Before he could understand more about his situation, his head suddenly began to ache.

It felt like a hundred nails were being drilled into his skull one by one.

And with each nail, his fractured memories began to return.

He remembered being reborn, creating magic, encountering Marcus, and using his first spell against him.

"That’s right Marcus! Where is he!" he yelled.

"Hey brother, are you a pervert?"

"The first thing you do after waking up from injury is think about that guy who wanted to kill you?"

"Well since it’s brother, if that’s what you’re into then who am I to judge?"

Walking into the room with a sly smile on her face, Elena joked.

She had just been outside the room coming in to check up on her brother to see how he was.

You must know she had been with him every moment since he got carried away by Alfred.

Every day that passed she couldn’t help but blame herself wishing she was stronger.

So hearing the first words from him asking where the culprit was, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

"Tch.. very funny, sister behave yourself," he said, the corner of his mouth twitching.

He could never figure out what went on in the head of that sister of his.

However, hearing such a joke he was once again reminded that he was still alive.

Not only that, but her reaction alone made him understand one thing.

Marcus was dead.

Either that or he was incapacitated unable to do anything, otherwise, if it was the sister he knew she would probably be in a bad mood as the only thing on her mind would be revenge.

Thinking this, he smiled.

"By the way Elena, your clothes have changed, just how long have I been out?"

Noticing that she was now wearing a black hoodie and a pair of black jeans, Ethan couldn’t help but wonder.

However, Elena’s next words left him shaken.

"It’s December tenth, Ethan, you’ve been unconscious for ten days!"
