Shen Nanxian had plenty of ways to torment people, provided he had sufficient patience.

In the end, the mouths of those few individuals still cracked. Shen Nanxian used his mobile phone to record the process of these people confessing their crimes and implicating the mastermind behind the scenes, and then went back to the car to accompany the sleeping Liu Lanci.

He had numerous methods to make these people vanish completely, but he was now a good man with a wife, and a good man had to use upright and open methods.Full novel: Max-Level Fast Travel Expert: The Sweetly Pampered Green Tea Darling (Quick Transmigration) — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

System 222 looked at the few battered fellows on the ground who could barely still be called human, and asked Shen Nanxian: “Host, once they go inside to tread sewing machines, do you need me to do anything else?”

“Yes.”

Shen Nanxian chose yes without even thinking. These people’s hands were stained with blood; merely sending them inside to sew clothes was letting them off far too easily.

With the evidence in hand, Shen Nanxian openly and righteously sent Ren Cha inside to tread a sewing machine.

Ren Cha felt no surprise whatsoever at this outcome, nor did he resist or utter any other words. Before entering, he looked at Shen Nanxian with a brilliant smile.

“The person you wanted is someone I used to disdain. I never expected that someone of your stature would actually enjoy picking up scraps. But I am curious, why did I never hear your grand name in my past life?”

Ren Cha smiled with a bone-chilling creepiness, his psyche on the verge of total collapse, yet right before the end, he still wanted to know why his life had been prosperous and flourishing in his previous life, only to crash and burn at the hands of such an obscure figure in this lifetime.

Shen Nanxian wore an indifferent face and said flatly: “My affairs are not something you are worthy of knowing.”

“Haha.”

Ren Cha burst into wild laughter, looking every bit like a lunatic, before his voice abruptly cut off.

“Click.”

The heavy iron door closed. Shen Nanxian turned around and left the place, leaving all remaining matters to be handled by System 222. He couldn’t help wondering why Ren Cha knew about events from a past life. Was the plot undergoing self-repair?

However, none of that mattered. What truly mattered was that his beloved was waiting for him at home.

When Liu Lanci woke up, Shen Nanxian had just taken off his coat, leaving several buttons of his shirt unfastened to reveal his fair and sturdy chest. Seeing this, Liu Lanci’s eyes instantly lit up, and he pounced forward, wrapping his arms tightly around Shen Nanxian.

“Mm, husband, you are back.”

“Mm.” Shen Nanxian kissed Liu Lanci’s forehead and asked him: “You must be hungry, right?”

“Mm-hmm, my stomach is completely hollow.”

“Let us go! We are going out to eat.”

Shen Nanxian put his arm around Liu Lanci and walked downstairs, intending to take him out for a meal.

Liu Lanci did not ask about Ren Cha. Ren’s father had already faced justice, and his vengeance was complete; he only wanted to quietly stay within Shen Nanxian’s embrace and enjoy this hard-won happiness.

Halfway through their meal, a telephone ringtone broke the quiet.

Shen Nanxian answered the call: “Hello, who is this?”

Crying sounds emerged from the other end of the line: “Is this Mr. Shen? Auntie, Auntie has fainted!”

This call was placed by Liu’s mother’s private caregiver. Not daring to delay, Shen Nanxian immediately brought Liu Lanci and rushed over to the hospital.

Outside the hospital emergency room doors, Shen Nanxian and Liu Lanci waited, their faces filled with anxiety.

After over ten minutes, the surgery finally concluded, and a female doctor walked out from inside.

“Doctor, how is my mother?” Liu Lanci hurried forward to ask.

The female doctor replied: “The patient has just finished surgery and has temporarily passed the critical period, but she is still in a severe coma and needs to be transferred to the ICU for twenty-four hours of observation.”

Hearing that his mother had passed the danger zone, Liu Lanci let out a breath of relief. His tightly strung expression relaxed, and with tears shimmering in his eyes, he embraced Shen Nanxian.

The two of them held each other tightly in a close embrace.

“Alright, do not worry anymore.”

Shen Nanxian gently patted Liu Lanci’s back and spoke in a low voice.

After another moment passed, Liu Lanci calmed the sorrow in his heart and raised his head.

The two of them leaned against each other, both able to feel the other’s heartbeat as if their very hearts had merged into one, never to be separated again.

Shen Nanxian softly patted Liu Lanci’s back: “Wife, do not worry, I am here.”

“Mm.” Liu Lanci nodded in response.

Time ticked by second by second. Under Liu Lanci’s hopeful gaze, Liu Mother was transferred from the ICU into a single-occupancy ward, waking up just as the sun was setting.

The instant she opened her eyes, she saw Liu Lanci sitting by the bedside looking haggard and exhausted. Upon seeing her wake up, even though he looked on the verge of tears, he still maintained a smile.

“Mom? How are you feeling? Is there anywhere that still hurts?” Liu Lanci asked urgently.

“Good.” Liu Mother wanted to answer Liu Lanci, but found her throat painfully dry.

Shen Nanxian immediately picked up a cup of water and handed it to Liu Mother.

After drinking the water, Liu Mother finally felt much more comfortable, though her throat burned with a fiery pain, making it impossible to speak in complete sentences.

“Mom! Don’t rush to speak just yet. I will have the doctor come over to check on you right away!” Liu Lanci hurriedly pressed the call button beside the bedside table.

Before long, a nurse and a doctor pushed open the door and entered the ward.

“Doctor, my mother has woken up, but she seems very uncomfortable and cannot speak. Please give her a checkup and see what is wrong with her throat.”

The doctor gave a slight nod to indicate he understood.

He walked up to the hospital bed, observed her carefully for a moment, and said: “The patient has no major complications. She simply lapsed into a coma for two days and suffered from extreme malnutrition. She just needs proper nourishment and rest over this period.”

Malnutrition? Shen Nanxian grew suspicious. Because Liu Mother was in poor health and gravely ill, he had sent nourishing tonics to the hospital every single day and assigned a caregiver to tend to her meticulously. How could she have ended up like this?

Without a sound, he shifted his gaze toward the people standing around. Only Nurse Song wore an evasive expression, appearing visibly guilty.

“Caregiver, may I ask what my mother ate before she fell unconscious? Why did she faint? Were there any other symptoms?”

The caregiver felt her scalp tingle under Shen Nanxian’s piercing stare. Lacking the courage to meet his eyes, she could only stutter out an explanation: “This, I, I really do not know.”

Hearing the caregiver’s denial made Shen Nanxian even more certain that Liu Mother’s fainting was far from simple on the surface.

His face darkened as he snapped coldly: “Tell the truth!”

“No! I really did not do anything!” Nurse Song panicked, her hands shaking unconsciously.

At that moment, a nurse who frequently chatted with Liu Mother stepped forward to smooth things over: “President Shen, please do not be too upset. Sister Song might have been negligent in her care at times, but she definitely harbors no malicious intent. I believe she did not mean to do it.”

While this statement sounded like it was speaking up for Nurse Song, it carried hidden meaning between the lines, pinning the label of irresponsibility squarely on her.

Nurse Song was currently in a state of sheer panic internally. Wasn’t it just that she thought giving those expensive tonics to someone on the verge of death was a bit wasteful, so she secretly took them back home for her own son to eat? It was all that dead girl at home’s fault for not reminding her.

At that moment, she completely forgot that her son was only three years old, and her daughter was just five.
