After looking through the original owner’s wardrobe, Ji Xueli resolutely picked up her card and headed out without a hint of hesitation.

As the male lead’s white moonlight, a wealthy heiress, and a celebrity, what was the point of having a wardrobe filled entirely with black, white, and gray?

Someone like Duan Qingyu had seen all kinds of women, so if she wanted to capture the target and win back her ex, she had to start by changing herself.Full novel: Mistake! He’s not the male lead, he’s a psycho demon — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her phone rang while Ji Xueli was watching a model try on clothes for her. She picked it up: “Hello.”

“Li Li~”

A somewhat nauseating voice.

Ji Xueli glanced suspiciously at the caller ID—it was unknown…

“I knew you were back in the country, so I immediately contacted directors for you. I have several scripts on hand right now. Should I bring them over this afternoon?”

After hearing this, she had a rough idea: it was probably her agent. But was the original owner so passionate about work that she wanted to start acting right after returning to the country…

“I’m at the mall. I’ll contact you about the scripts in a few days.” Ji Xueli waved her hand, signaling the model to change into another outfit.

“What are you doing at the mall? Didn’t you say you wouldn’t take a break?” The other person sounded puzzled.

“Shopping for clothes. I feel like taking a break now. That’s all, bye.” Ji Xueli hung up before the other person could respond.

“Just these, please wrap them up.” She took out her card, pointed at the pile of clothes and shoes, and said.

“Of course, Miss Ji. We just received a few limited-edition bags over there. Would you like to take a look?” The sales assistant couldn’t hide her excitement as she took the bank card with both hands.

No woman could resist limited editions.

Ji Xueli raised an eyebrow: “Let’s see.”

“This one was just transferred from headquarters. It’s this year’s runway piece, with only five in the world. This is the last one.”

Ji Xueli looked at the bag in her hands—a white medium-sized bag, exquisitely beautiful. And since it was the last one, it was particularly enticing.

“I’ll take this—”

“It’s mine.”

Before she could finish her sentence, a voice spoke up from behind, beating her to it.

This scene of snatching something felt so familiar… a classic trope in domineering CEO stories. Clichéd, but undeniably thrilling.

Ji Xueli turned to look. The woman had a striking face, with features that exuded a strong sense of aggression.

“Miss Ren.” The sales assistant greeted her familiarly, indicating she was a regular customer.

Ren Tang looked at her and suddenly smiled: “Ji Xueli? You’re back?”

Great, they knew each other. Who was this person…

Ji Xueli kept her expression unchanged: “I just got back not long ago.”

“No wonder they started promoting your return. So you really are back.” Ren Tang sneered.

The hostility was strong. It seemed they were enemies.

Ji Xueli pondered this internally, glancing at her. That nose looked rather fake, but her skin was well-maintained. Could she be in the same industry?

“You’re still the same as before, with that aloof, cold, and arrogant attitude.” Ren Tang, seeing her remain silent, taunted her again.

Faced with her repeated attacks, Ji Xueli slowly curved her lips into a smile: “Yes, but you’ve changed from before…”

She gestured toward Ren Tang’s chest area and said leisurely, “You’ve had them enhanced.”

“You… Ji Xueli, stop talking nonsense.” Ren Tang glanced at her own chest. Since it was true and she hadn’t expected Ji Xueli to retort like that, her face flushed red with anger.

“Alright, seems like I was right.” Ji Xueli withdrew her gesture.

“Shut up, I just can’t stand your high-society airs.” Ren Tang snapped in a fit of pique.

But she was born into high society…

The sales associate, noticing Ji Xueli’s unperturbed expression and fearing a scene, quickly interjected, “Miss Ji, I’ll wrap the bag for you now.”

“I just said I wanted it, didn’t you hear me?” Ren Tang glared wide-eyed.

The sales associate held the bag and looked toward Ji Xueli. She was from the Ji family, while Ren Tang was merely a popular actress—nothing compared to the Ji family.

“Give it to her. It’s just a bag.” Ji Xueli couldn’t be bothered to argue, her tone dismissive.

“Hmph, because someone is paying for me.” Ren Tang said, pulling out a card as if to flaunt it.

Ji Xueli looked at her as if she were insane. Was she really that proud of having someone else pay for her?

The next moment.

“The Crown Prince knows about it. This is his card.” Ren Tang declared.

Duan Qingyu?

Ji Xueli frowned. How was this person connected to him? Could this be the female lead? But was the female lead really this foolish?

“Oh, how impressive.” Ji Xueli offered a half-hearted compliment. If this really was the female lead, she felt her path to reconciliation was as solid as a mountain.

“Here.” Ren Tang snorted, handing the card to the sales associate. “Ji Xueli, you’ve been gone for so long. There’s no place for you in the circle anymore. I suggest you just go back to being your pampered young lady, lest you run away again.”

Ji Xueli, who had been about to leave, stopped in her tracks at these words and walked back over.

“Excuse me.”

Ren Tang, caught off guard by the sudden remark, looked over in confusion, only to be met with a slap.
