Inside, the mood shifted quickly.

Kevin’s chatter filled the air, full of jokes and exaggerated gestures.

Ze laughed out loud, and Mom’s laughter joined in soft, bright, echoing in that small space.Full novel: Mom’s Irresistible Allure – NTR — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The earlier sadness melted away, replaced by easy conversation.

Mom looked radiant today vibrant, glowing as she smiled, her fingers delicately covering her lips as she laughed, pale pink nails catching the sunlight.

Every movement of her hands was graceful, every flick of her hair natural and poised.

Her shy smile only deepened her beauty.

Her makeup was exquisite: softly arched brows, faint pink shadow, lashes that framed her luminous eyes.

Her cheeks glowed faintly, her lips painted a rose hue full and inviting.

Around her neck dangled a thin silver chain with a small diamond pendant that sparkled whenever it caught the sun.

She looked ethereal, warm, alive.

When she smiled, her eyes bent faintly at the corners, shimmering like liquid light.

Each glance, each tilt of her lips had elegance without pride, charm without effort.

Now and then, she brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, revealing her smooth forehead and delicate profile.

The motion caused the pearl earrings on her lobes to sway ever so slightly, glinting faintly.

Her legs moved rhythmically as she drove, the muscles flexing under the thin fabric of her stockings.

Each time she shifted gears or tapped the pedals, her skirt crept imperceptibly higher, changing the curve of her hips.

Kevin stole glances whenever he thought she wouldn’t notice, drinking in the sight of those long, toned legs and the smooth motion of her thighs.

He continued performing waving his hands theatrically, imitating TV celebrities, cracking jokes that made Ze giggle helplessly.

The boy’s laughter rang out, pure and bright, filling the car with warmth.

Through the rearview mirror, Mom’s eyes softened as she watched them.

The warmth in her chest bloomed, a fleeting tenderness.

She remembered how she’d once dreaded him the way his eyes lingered on her too long, too boldly.

She’d thought he was nothing but a lecherous boy pretending at good manners, an opportunist using her son to lower her guard.

She’d hated the way his gaze crawled over her skin like something filthy, the shame that followed those moments.

But recently… He had changed.

Or so it seemed.

He was kind to Ze.

Patient, even.

He listened to the boy’s endless chatter, answered every silly question, spent hours playing with him.

She had begun to think maybe she’d misjudged him.

Maybe behind that lazy grin was someone harmless, maybe even sweet.

Watching him lift the laughing child into the air or kneel by the couch to help him color, she felt the edges of her distrust soften.

By the time they returned home in the afternoon, the house was filled with laughter.

Ze followed Kevin everywhere like a shadow, his voice chirping constantly: “Cousin!

Cousin!” Kevin responded with a grin every time, spinning him around or patting his head.

Mom watched with hesitant relief, the tension in her shoulders finally easing.

Then her phone chimed ding-dong.

A WeChat notification.

She picked it up.

It was from her dance studio group her friends inviting her out that evening.

Usually, she would have declined.

Nights were for taking care of her son, and besides, she didn’t like drinking when she had to mind him.

But today was different.

She glanced up at Kevin, who was crouched on the floor, patiently showing Ze how to stack blocks.

His voice was low, warm.

Her son’s eyes sparkled with pure joy.

Maybe… maybe she could go.

For the first time in months, the thought didn’t feel reckless.

Her friends had been pestering her for weeks to join their gatherings.

They talked about a newly opened hotel bar, beautifully decorated, perfect for pictures.

A night out, just to relax, to laugh, to breathe outside her daily responsibilities.

The temptation tugged gently at her chest.

She deserved this.

Just a few hours to feel like herself again not a mother, not a wife just herself.

She hesitated only a moment longer.

Then she looked again at the pair on the floor.

Ze sat cross-legged, stacking colorful bricks, his entire concentration written on his little face.

Kevin guided his hands, smiling whenever the tower wobbled.

He looked harmless like that.

Kind, even.

If she left him to watch Ze for an evening, nothing bad would happen.

Surely not.

Another message popped up, full of teasing and laughter: “Victoria!

You’ve skipped three parties already!

Come on tonight’s our night!” She could almost hear her colleagues’ excited voices.

They reminded her: “The new place is gorgeous, perfect for photos!” Her hand trembled slightly over the phone.

She exhaled, then looked toward Kevin again.

The boy glanced up at that moment, catching her gaze, flashing a broad, innocent grin.

That sealed her decision.

She walked over, her steps soft.

“Kevin,” she called gently.

He looked up, surprised.

“Yes, Aunt?” Smiling a little nervously, she said, “The girls at my dance studio are meeting tonight.

I usually can’t go out because of Ze.

But since you’re here… would you mind watching him for me?

Just tonight?” She paused after saying it, heart tugging with uncertainty.

He blinked in surprise, then grinned wide.

“Of course, Aunt!

I’d love to.

Ze’s fun to play with.

Don’t worry I’ll make sure he has a great time.” His quick agreement made her sigh with relief.

“Thank you, Kevin.

Really,” she said, voice softened.

He waved a hand.

“It’s nothing, Aunt.

Happy to help.” Then he turned back toward the boy with an easy smile.

Mom lingered a moment, watching the two of them.

A strange warmth stirred in her chest gratitude, maybe.

Or reassurance.

She’d been too hard on the boy before, she thought.

Maybe tonight would mark a change.

Maybe it would be the beginning of something easier.
