[evolution progress: 3%]: 97% remaining until the next life level evolution.

After devouring and digesting this tree frog, Gale’s evolution progress increased by another 2%.

At the same time, Gale’s body grew once again; his original 1.1-meter-long body directly increased to 1.3 meters.Full novel: MonsterVerse: Infinite Evolution on Skull Island — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

This further evolution and growth of his body also made Gale a bit stronger.

But this was far from enough.

On this Skull Island, to possess enough strength to protect himself without worry, he would need to grow to at least the level of Kong and the Skullcrawlers.

In the following time, Gale continued to hunt and devour incessantly.

His hunting targets were mostly small prey he could handle and devour, such as rats and frogs.

After catching prey, he would bring it back to his den to devour and digest while resting and sleeping.

Once he woke up after finishing the digestion, he would head out to hunt again.

This cycle continued for seven days.

Seven days later.

— Name: Gale; Species: Purple-striped Snake [3.7m]; Ability: Devour; life level: Ordinary Creature; evolution progress: 27% [73% remaining until the next life level evolution].

— After seven days of continuous hunting and devouring, Gale’s evolution progress reached 27%.

By this time, Gale’s body length had grown to 3.7 meters, and the purple patterns on his body had deepened, even reflecting a purple light under the sun.

Gale looked forward to seeing what level he could evolve to once his evolution progress reached 100%.

However, before that…

…Gale had to consider another matter.

And that was the need to find a new den.

Because now that his body length had reached 3.7 meters, the current rat hole was becoming difficult and cramped for him to enter and exit.

Thus, Gale had to find a new home.

Otherwise, in another two or three days, he might be completely unable to get in or out of this rat hole.

To be honest, Gale was quite reluctant to leave this rat hole.

After all, it was his first den after transmigrating to this world.

And most importantly, it was very safe.

During these seven days, Gale had encountered basically no danger while living inside.

But unfortunately, the rat hole was too small and could no longer accommodate him.

Since Gale didn’t have claws to dig a hole himself, he had to find another safe den to settle in.

“Rustle—rustle—” Soon, Gale’s three-meter-plus purple snake body crawled out of the rat hole and moved through the dense forest.

Now at 3.7 meters long, Gale’s body was as thick as an adult’s arm.

Such a size would have been considered a fairly large python in his previous life.

However, on Skull Island, compared to those giant beasts that were easily over ten or even dozens of meters long, the current Gale was still insignificant.

So, Gale remained cautious along the way.

He didn’t even hunt when he saw prey on the way.

Because hunting and devouring prey would affect his movement until digestion was complete.

For Gale, the top priority was finding a safe den; once he had one, it wouldn’t be too late to hunt.

Gale followed a path through the dense forest, unsure of what the environment ahead was like.

After traveling like this for over two hours, Gale’s vision suddenly opened up.

He had emerged from the dense forest and reached the edge of an open wilderness.

Only a few sparse trees and weeds grew in the wilderness, with many areas being exposed earth and stone.

Seeing this, Gale immediately hid at the edge where the forest met the wilderness and carefully observed the situation.

First, he checked for danger; seeing none for the moment, he then looked for a suitable and safe den.

No good hiding spots were visible yet.

Gale immediately began searching to the left along the edge where the forest and wilderness met.

If any danger arose, he could promptly duck back into the dense forest to hide.

He traveled along the junction for another hour.

At that moment, a cliff face appeared in Gale’s line of sight.

Most importantly, there were many cracks and stone caves of various sizes on this cliff face.

If these caves were deep and interconnected, they would definitely make an excellent den for Gale.

Gale immediately crawled quickly toward the cliff face.

The cliff face was right ahead at the junction of the forest and wilderness, formed by a stone mountain.

Gale soon reached the cliff and cautiously observed the various caves and cracks for any signs of danger.

After confirming no danger, Gale chose a basketball-sized cave and crawled inside, discovering that the caves in the cliff were mostly interconnected.

Furthermore, at the deepest part of the cave, it connected to a massive karst cave over a hundred square meters wide and dozens of meters high.

Gale slowly wriggled his snake body through the passage and into the karst cave.

The floor of the karst cave consisted of yellow clay and gravel.

In the middle was a half-meter-deep gully carved out by flowing water.

At the deepest part of the karst cave was a small pool.

Water seeped from the cracks in the karst cave walls, forming a small pool about three meters in diameter and one meter deep.

But the moment Gale approached the small pool, he noticed the wet ground around it was covered with dense footprints that looked like those of rats.

However, these rat-like footprints were several times larger than those of ordinary rats.

Especially one of the footprints, which looked almost as large as a child’s palm.

“There are other creatures here!” Gale immediately became alert.

Then, the sound of numerous rats “squeaking” echoed from the edges of the surrounding karst cave.

“Squeak—” “Squeak—” One by one, giant White Rats emerged from the stone holes around the karst cave, their eyes gleaming with ferocity as they looked warily at Gale.

With a glance, Gale saw there were probably over a hundred of these White Rats, and none of them were small.

Even the smaller White Rats probably weighed three or four catties.

And some of the larger ones likely weighed more than ten catties.

Even those ten-catty rats weren’t the largest.

Soon, behind the appearing White Rats, a White Rat with an even more astonishing size stepped out.

That White Rat was like a behemoth among the colony; excluding its tail, its body length was estimated to be over half a meter.

As soon as this giant White Rat appeared, the other White Rats around it instantly went silent, as if they were seeing the Rat King.

Clearly, this karst cave was the den of these White Rats, and the largest one was likely the Rat King.

He had entered a White Rat nest.

The Rat King appeared, looking at Gale with a fierce gaze.

From this uninvited guest, the Rat King sensed an unprecedented, lethal danger.

But this karst cave was its territory, and it would never allow a creature that threatened it to exist here.

Looking at the Rat King and the swarm of White Rats before him…

…Gale was also thinking.

However, what he was thinking about was how much his evolution progress would increase if he ate the Rat King and this entire swarm of White Rats.

It shouldn’t be hard to increase his evolution progress by more than ten percent, he reckoned.
