Сhарtеr 11: Want to Sее?
Shеng Shurаn stеpped оut оf the KТV and saw Сhi Неn lеаning аgainst thе rоаdside rаiling, cоvered in injuriеs. Нer hеart tightеnеd, аnd she rushеd оver.
“Whаt hарреnеd? Нow did уou gеt hurt?”
Сhi Hen’s facе was bruisеd, his hair dishеvеlеd, his еyes rimmеd red. His whitе shirt wаs сrumрled, сovеred in dark fооtрrints аnd sрeсks of bloodstаins.
“Fаn Сhао said he wantеd tо gеt yоu drunk.”
Sheng Shurаn’s scalр рriсklеd at the wоrds. Fаn Chaо had beеn unusuаllу аttentivе еarlier, and she’d assumed he wаs just drunk. She nеvеr ехрeсted he’d turn out tо be suсh a bеast in humаn skin.
“So you fought him?”
“No, he hit me first.” Chi Hen said frankly, without a hint of a lie.
“That scumbag Fan Chao!! How dare he hit you?!” Sheng Shuran’s anger flared instantly, and she made as if to go confront him.
Chi Hen gripped her slender, pale wrist.
“Sheng Shuran, hug me.” His voice was cool yet commanding.
Chi Hen’s gaze locked intently on Sheng Shuran:
“I’m in pain. Hug me.”
Without waiting for her response, he tightened his grip on her wrist and pulled her into his embrace, resting his chin on the top of her head.
That same clean, refreshing scent, now tinged with a faint trace of blood, enveloped Sheng Shuran.
Her heart softened, and she wrapped her arms around his waist, gently stroking his back.
The grip on her wrist tightened further.
“Should we go to the hospital?”
“No need, this is enough.”
Sheng Shuran pushed him away, her willow-leaf brows slightly furrowed. “No, your wounds need to be treated.” With that, she grabbed Chi Hen and headed to the pharmacy to buy medicine.
As they left, they passed the entrance of an alley, completely unaware of the scent of blood inside.
Soon, Sheng Shuran bought a large and small bundle of supplies from the pharmacy and planned to treat Chi Hen’s wounds right at the entrance.
“Not here.” Chi Hen pulled her up.
“Then where?”
“Home.”
“Home? You’ve already moved out of your apartment.”
“Then to your home.” Chi Hen’s expression was calm, but his words carried weight.
This was Chi Hen’s second time at Sheng Shuran’s home.
The first was when he had just arrived in City C for university.
Back then, before registering at school, he had stayed at Sheng Shuran’s place for two days.
Unlike Chi Hen’s apartment, this place had two rooms, so he could stay over legitimately.
Once inside, Sheng Shuran began rummaging for disinfectant and cotton swabs. Chi Hen suddenly asked:
“Can I take a shower first?”
“A shower?! Why shower?” Sheng Shuran was stunned.
She had planned to treat his wounds at home and then send him back to school.
“My clothes are dirty. I want to wash up.”
Sheng Shuran glanced at his white shirt and could understand Chi Hen’s fastidiousness. But…
“I don’t have any clothes here for you to change into.”
“I can wash and dry them. It’ll only take an hour or two.” Chi Hen had already thought of a solution for her.
“What will you wear in the meantime?”
Chi Hen stared at her, tilting his chin up, and said bluntly:
“Lend me your bath towel.”
Six words—perfectly ordinary words. Why did they leave Sheng Shuran reacting half a beat slower?
She still hadn’t fully processed it by the time Chi Hen walked into the bathroom.
Chi Hen got his wish and took a hot shower. When he emerged, he was bare-chested, with Sheng Shuran’s white bath towel hastily wrapped around his lower body.
The bath towel she used daily to dry herself was now wrapped around a grown man…The same fabric that had just rubbed against her own skin was now touching the unique contours of the opposite sex…
Sheng Shuran had never imagined that a simple white cloth could feel so suggestive.
She stared blankly at the towel wrapped around Chi Hen’s lower body.
Emphasis! She was staring at the towel! The towel!
But to others, it didn’t seem so simple.
“Want to see?” Chi Hen strode over to her with a triumphant air.
“Huh?” Sheng Shuran snapped back to reality, unsure what Chi Hen meant.
She only saw him fresh out of the shower, his skin still flushed, droplets from his hair dripping along his jawline onto his collarbone, then sliding down along his well-defined lines.
Chi Hen lowered his gaze, his eyes resting on the towel around his waist.
Following his line of sight, Sheng Shuran belatedly understood his meaning. Just as she was about to clarify, Chi Hen finished what he hadn’t said:
“You know, I never refuse you…” His hand moved to his waist, lightly tugging at the corner of the towel.
“No! Not needed!”
Sheng Shuran hurriedly leaned forward to press down on his hand… but missed slightly, landing on his bare waist instead.
Her face ended up right in front of the towel.
Frozen in an awkward position, Sheng Shuran couldn’t believe what was happening.
Yet from above came Chi Hen’s low voice:
“Sheng Shuran, I can’t take it anymore. Help me.” !!! ??? ?!?!?!
Help??
Again??
Sheng Shuran abruptly straightened up, recalling what had happened earlier in Chi Hen’s dorm room during the day. It seemed she understood yet again!
She couldn’t help but sigh deeply: Youth, how wonderful it is!
