At the thought of this possibility, Tang Wei felt as if her soul had left her body.

She even forgot there was someone else nearby, dragging her feet as she wandered away in a daze.

Xu An’s words of advice came to an abrupt halt, and his heart began to race with unease.Full novel: Morning Sickness on the Same Day, President Lu Uses the Child to Force Me to Marry — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Had he said something wrong?

He had genuinely just thought Tang Wei was too upset and wanted to comfort her.

Xu An let out a soft sigh and returned to the hotel.

“I’ll be there right away.”

Lu Jinshi was just walking out of the hotel as he answered the call and hung up.

Xu An asked in confusion, “What’s wrong, President Lu?”

Lu Jinshi didn’t slow his pace. “To the hospital.”

…

“You’re pregnant.”

Tang Wei stood outside the hospital building clutching her test results, the doctor’s words echoing in her mind.

She really was pregnant.

This was a child that should never have come to be—that night was something she least wanted to remember.

But the thought that this little life was connected to her made her reluctant to let it go.

She was alone and helpless, and the Tang family had never treated her as one of their own.

She probably wouldn’t marry in the future, and this child might be her only blood relative in this world.

Keep it or not?

Tang Wei clenched the test results in her hand, the smooth paper crumpled by her grip.

“President Lu, we—”

Lu Jinshi suddenly stopped in his tracks.

Xu An’s words trailed off as he looked up, following his gaze, and saw Tang Wei standing at the entrance.

Her face was pale, shrouded in gloom and helplessness, as if trapped in some kind of predicament.

He let out a surprised sound. “It’s her!”

“You know her?”

Lu Jinshi’s deep, dark eyes glanced at him, carrying an invisible pressure.

“No, I don’t know her. But just now at the hotel entrance, I saw her vomiting and thought she might be pregnant, so I gave her some tissues and water and said a few extra words. I didn’t expect she’d just walk off after being comforted.”

Speaking of this, Xu An still felt a bit apologetic.

But now that he saw Tang Wei, he had a rough idea of what was going on.

Xu An sighed. “I think she wasn’t sure if she was pregnant, so she came to the hospital to check. Judging by her appearance, she’s probably a pitiful girl—maybe some scumbag seduced and abandoned her.”

Xu An gritted his teeth. Though he was a man, he hated those men who seduced and abandoned women the most.

Making a pregnant woman this miserable—no decent human being would do something like that.

Tsk, scumbag.

Just as he finished cursing inwardly, he saw Lu Jinshi, who had been standing in front of him, walk toward Tang Wei.

In the moment he was stunned, Lu Jinshi had already reached Tang Wei.

Xu An stared wide-eyed for two seconds.

Then, with an admiring look, he let out an endless sigh of emotion.

His CEO might look cold and aloof, but he was actually handsome and kind-hearted.

Look, he was even going over to offer a few words of concern.

Tang Wei unfolded the pregnancy test report, and her tightly furrowed brows gradually relaxed, as if she had made her decision.

She would keep this child.

Though it was an accident, it would be her only blood relative in this life.

That day, she had stumbled into that room without thinking, and she didn’t know who the man was. If anything, she was the one who had gotten the better deal.

Forget it, she’d just think of him as a free sperm donor.

Having thought it through, Tang Wei no longer felt so conflicted.

She let out a soft breath, and suddenly a person appeared in front of her.

A man.

A very handsome man.

The man was about 1.9 meters tall with handsome features, carrying an innate nobility and elegance. Only his overly deep and cold eyes made him seem somewhat aloof.

And beneath that aloofness, there was a gravity Tang Wei couldn’t quite read.

Tang Wei glanced to the side in confusion.

She wasn’t blocking the way either.

Not wanting any trouble, Tang Wei took a step to the side.

At the same moment, the man’s voice fell. “You’re pregnant?”

Tang Wei was stunned for a moment. After confirming she didn’t know him, she unconsciously tightened her grip on the pregnancy test report and took a cautious step back.

Out of nowhere—what did her pregnancy have to do with him?

Blocking her at the hospital entrance—could he be someone Qi Yanzhi had arranged?

At this thought, Tang Wei’s face instantly turned deathly pale, her hands and feet ice-cold. She glared fiercely at Lu Jinshi and warned, “This is a hospital! Don’t you dare do anything!”

Seeing Tang Wei’s extreme reaction, Xu An’s heart leaped into his throat.

Look at their CEO—if you’re going to show concern, at least have a concerned attitude.

With that grim face, he’d scared the poor girl half to death.

She was just about to call the police.

“Don’t misunderstand, don’t misunderstand!” Xu An rushed forward, flashing the most amiable smile he could manage, looking like a creepy uncle trying to lure a child.

“Do you remember me? I’m the one who gave you tissues and water at the hotel entrance earlier.”

Someone had indeed given her tissues and water earlier, and it was his reminder that had prompted her to come to the hospital.

Tang Wei looked at him, recognized Xu An, and immediately let out a sigh of relief.

But she still didn’t fully let her guard down.

Running into them at the hotel entrance earlier, and now at the hospital entrance.

It was too much of a coincidence.

Tang Wei pressed her lips together, her voice cold and indifferent. “What do you two want?”

Seeing that she was no longer as hostile as before, Xu An relaxed considerably.

He explained slowly, “This is our CEO Lu. Don’t be scared—he’s a good man, he just came by to check on you.”

“And also, we definitely weren’t following you. We really just happened to be at the hospital visiting a patient.”

Xu An was this close to raising his hand and swearing an oath.

Tang Wei glanced at them, and after a moment, let out an “Mm.” “Thanks for earlier. I’ll be going now.”

“Alright—”

“Wait.”

Xu An had just opened his mouth, the word “alright” not even out yet, when Lu Jinshi was the first to call her back.

Xu An nearly choked on his breath.

Still waiting?

Hadn’t he seen how scared the young lady was?

Why did it feel like their CEO Lu was up to no good?

Tang Wei pressed her lips tightly together, looking at him, a string in her heart pulled taut.

Her intuition told her this man was no simple character.

“One month ago, Shengshi Hotel, room 606. Let’s talk.” Lu Jinshi let out these words.

Snap.

Tang Wei felt the string in her heart snap. She raised her head in disbelief, staring at Lu Jinshi.

It was him.

Lu Jinshi gazed at her. “It won’t take long. Just a talk.”

A talk?

What was there to talk about?

Tang Wei lowered her head and glanced at the pregnancy test report in her hand.

It was nothing more than asking her to abort the child, or taking the child away.

Tang Wei shook her head, her tone distant and indifferent. “The child isn’t yours.”

She tried to stay calm, not wanting Lu Jinshi to notice anything unusual.

But she didn’t know that her instinctively evasive gaze had already given her away.

The young lady’s nerves were stretched taut, her strikingly beautiful starry eyes filled entirely with wariness and resistance, her posture one of constant defense—she had already cast him as the enemy.

Lu Jinshi’s gaze darkened, his tone gentler. “I’m not taking your child. Just about what happened that day—can we talk?”

Though his tone was calm, his expression made it clear there was no room for refusal. He was set on having this talk.

With the two of them being grown men, there was no running away now.
