The bedroom was eerily quiet.

After a brief moment of tightly pressed lips, Shen Chengyan spoke. His voice was cool and low.

“Ghosts made it.”

“Go clean it up.”

Jiang Yu felt a surge of bitterness. “Why are you saying that so matter-of-factly?”

“You know I can’t stand a dirty house.”

Jiang Yu suddenly snapped. “Fine. Cut off your hands and feet, and since you’re disabled, I’ll consider cleaning it up for you.”

A trace of doubt and confusion appeared in Shen Chengyan’s eyes.

Was this still the obedient little wife who had respected him, loved him, worshipped him, and treated him like her entire world—who had never even spoken a single dirty word?

Was she still half-asleep?

Or had her brain gone bad?

Shen Chengyan pressed his temple. He did not want to waste energy on such meaningless matters.

“I’ll pretend you’re still half-asleep. Clean it up when you wake up properly. You know I have OCD.”

Jiang Yu sneered. “You have OCD but still play around so much. I don’t think you’re all that clean yourself.”

Shen Chengyan turned back. “What did you say?”

“I said I’m a little sleepy.”

Jiang Yu raised her middle finger and rubbed her eye.

“……”

Shen Chengyan stared at her for a moment, then turned and left.

He went to the study, sat at his desk, and turned on his computer to work.

These small quarrels had happened before.

After five years of marriage, friction was unavoidable.

But every time after such fights, Jiang Yu would lower herself and come to apologize first.

This time would be no exception.

At most half an hour, he thought, she would knock on his study door with a cup of warm stomach-soothing tea she had personally brewed.

She would look at him pitifully and say, “Hubby, I’m sorry. I was childish. I shouldn’t have argued with you. Please don’t be mad anymore.”

He waited for her to soften.

But after one hour, two hours, three hours, and four hours—

the study door remained shut.

“……”

Shen Chengyan fell into silence.

Everything today felt wrong.

The next day, Shen Chengyan came down from the treadmill drenched in sweat. After showering, it was only eight in the morning.

As he went downstairs, he heard the sound of running water coming from the kitchen.

That familiar sound lifted his mood slightly.

Just like always, after his workout, Jiang Yu should have already been in the kitchen washing and preparing a nutritious breakfast for him.

After he finished eating, she would help him tie his tie, then kneel to help him put on his leather shoes, and gently see him off.

Over the years, he had become accustomed to her care and the fixed routine.

As long as she returned to normal, he could pretend nothing happened last night.

But when he entered the living room, his relaxed nerves tightened again.

That damned trash was still there.

It still gave off a faint stench.

In the kitchen, Jiang Yu was wearing pajamas, her messy hair tied loosely on top of her head. She stood barefoot on the floor, leaning against the counter, her right heel resting against her left ankle. One pant leg was rolled up, revealing a small section of fair skin.

A spoon was in her mouth, and a tub of ice cream sat beside her.

She had already eaten half of it.

She hummed a cheerful tune.

At that moment, Shen Chengyan felt she was not just acting strange—she was possessed.

Jiang Yu had always strictly controlled her body, down to every calorie.

She once said that eating a single bite of ice cream meant running twenty minutes to compensate. Maintaining her figure was not easy, and she would never torture herself for momentary cravings.

So who was this woman eating high-calorie ice cream now?

And who had eaten the junk food scattered in the living room?

While Shen Chengyan stared at her silently, Jiang Yu also noticed him.

They locked eyes for a few seconds.

Then Jiang Yu calmly looked away, washed her spoon, and placed the ice cream back into the freezer.

Shen Chengyan frowned slightly and asked as usual, “Is breakfast ready?”

But Jiang Yu did not respond with her usual sweet smile, nor did she run over to him, wrap her arms around his neck, and blink her innocent eyes while saying, “Breakfast is ready, hubby~ just waiting for you to eat~”

Instead, she stood at the sink washing ingredients, as if she had not heard him at all.

As if he did not exist.

Shen Chengyan’s expression darkened. “I’m talking to you. Are you deaf?”

Only then did Jiang Yu glance at him sideways.

“Can’t even make your own breakfast? Am I your mother or your father? You rely on me for everything—are you waiting for me to feed you too?”

Shen Chengyan clearly froze for a moment.

He knew she was not used to acting like this.

After all, she had once been a lovestruck, obedient little wife.

A wife like that would never treat her husband so arrogantly.

After a pause, Shen Chengyan spoke again, his voice tinged with irritation.

“Explain your abnormal behavior.”

Without looking up, Jiang Yu chopped tomatoes. “I want a divorce.”

A cold laugh escaped Shen Chengyan. “How many times has that been already?”

Jiang Yu almost stabbed the knife into the cutting board.

Yes.

This was not the first time she had mentioned divorce.

Which couple never talked about breaking up during arguments?

She had been the same.

Over the years, because of Hu Youyue and the Shen family, every time she argued with him, she had shouted about divorce in anger.

But every time, he had pacified her with a gift.

And back then, she had not truly wanted a divorce.

Shen Chengyan had completely lost patience.

“Tell me the real reason. I’ll give you this one chance to explain.”

Jiang Yu mimicked his cold smile. “Fine. Then I’ll make it clear. I want Hu Youyue to get out of the Shen family. I want my son to stop calling her godmother. And I want you, your mother, your brother, and everyone in the Shen family to kneel and apologize to me.”

Shen Chengyan stared at her calmly for a long time. “When did you go crazy?”

“I only regret that I went crazy too late.”

“So that nasty comment you left yesterday was because you were jealous of her? Jiang Yu, you said you weren’t a jealous person.”

Jiang Yu really wanted to stab him to death.

“Who says they’re not jealous? Would you admit you’re quick and small?”

“……”

Shen Chengyan still did not believe she truly wanted a divorce.

He knew her too well.

This was just her throwing a tantrum again, causing trouble to get what she wanted.

She had done it before.

So he asked calmly, “What do you want this time? A limited-edition Hermès? One bag or two?”

“Two bags and you think you can buy me off? Do you think I’m cheap?”

“Then what do you want?”

“I already said it. I want a divorce.”

Shen Chengyan looked at her and smiled. “Count for yourself. How many times have you said that?”

“This time I mean it.”

“You always say that.”

Jiang Yu shouted, “Why can’t you understand human language?! I said I mean it this time! Do you think I’m joking? That you can just buy me off with gifts like before?!”

Shen Chengyan raised a brow. “So you’re blaming me for not giving you gifts lately?”

When anger reached its peak, it turned strangely calm.

Jiang Yu suddenly found it ridiculous.

She stopped arguing.

Looking at him calmly, she asked, “No matter what I want… you’ll give it to me?”

A smug certainty flashed in Shen Chengyan’s eyes, as if he had already seen through her.

“Say it. What do you want?”

Jiang Yu said, “I want 51% of your company shares.”

“……”

Fifty-one percent meant absolute controlling power.

Jiang Yu sneered. “What, you can’t bear it? Then stop pretending.”

Shen Chengyan curled his lips slightly. “You really dare to ask.”

Jiang Yu rolled her eyes. “Didn’t you ask me what I wanted? If you can’t give it, don’t act so generous.”

The vein at Shen Chengyan’s temple twitched.

He felt there was no point in continuing this conversation.

She was completely abnormal today.

He turned and left the kitchen.

Passing through the living room, the stench from the garbage hit him again.

He endured it for a while, then finally said, “At least try to keep things clean. You and that pile of trash are practically rotting.”

Jiang Yu: “?”

This man was insane.

He was the one rotting.
