Life after transmigration was painfully dull for Ren Kurose.

Even after joining the Chat Group, that hadn’t really changed.

He couldn’t speak at all and could only watch everyone else chatting.Full novel: Multiverse Chat Group: I Became the Feaster from the Stars — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

For Ren Kurose, that was torture.

Still, after gaining access to the Chat Group, he had finally acquired some sense of the passage of time.

The space he currently occupied might have had a normal flow of time, but without any reference point, there had been no way for him to perceive it.

Now, however, he could judge the passage of time through the conversations between the other group members.

And precisely because he could now perceive it…

the boredom became even more painful.

So Ren Kurose had no choice but to focus on gaining control over all of Yomagn’tho’s power as quickly as possible while silently lurking in the Chat Group and observing everyone else’s conversations.

As for mastering the terrifying power of an Outer God, Ren Kurose felt that he was making progress fairly quickly.

By now, he had even fed once again.

Naturally, his latest target couldn’t compare to the enormous blue star from before.

It was much smaller.

Even so, successfully devouring it proved that Ren Kurose was gradually gaining control over Yomagn’tho’s power.

Unfortunately, even that wasn’t enough for the Chat Group to lift his mute.

“Just how much control do I need before I’m allowed to speak?”

“This is seriously way too boring!”

Ren Kurose was beginning to lose it.

There wasn’t a single person in this damned space.

He couldn’t even find someone to talk to.

For the next stretch of time, Ren Kurose could only force himself to continue mastering Yomagn’tho’s full power while occasionally checking whether his mute had been lifted.

Eventually, Ren Kurose even devoured a star as large as the one Yomagn’tho had consumed back then.

Yet the mute remained.

At that point, Ren Kurose realized that the condition for lifting it was probably different from what he had originally imagined.

He had assumed that once he fully mastered Yomagn’tho’s power, he would be able to speak normally.

Reality, however, didn’t seem to work that way.

Although Yomagn’tho, the Feaster from the Stars, might not be comparable to Azathoth or the Three Pillar Gods, its status was still extraordinarily high, and its power was simply too great.

Even merely existing inside the Chat Group made it easy for the other members’ minds to collapse.

After all, there seemed to be ordinary people in the group.

Because of this, Ren Kurose guessed that perhaps he needed to use an avatar to speak within the Chat Group.

Unfortunately, Yomagn’tho didn’t seem to possess any way to create an avatar independently without a summoning connection.

So for the time being, Ren Kurose couldn’t think of a good solution.

He could only keep waiting.

And this time…

the wait truly lasted far too long.

During that period, two newcomers even joined the Chat Group.

Yomagn’tho Ren Kurose successfully shed his status as the newest member.

The two newcomers were Rem and Hitori Gotoh.

The former was extremely popular.

Ren Kurose remembered that she had become famous far beyond just anime circles.

The latter was somewhat less famous, but Ren Kurose still knew her.

She came from Bocchi the Rock!— an extremely socially withdrawn girl.

Rem possessed at least some combat ability.

Hitori Gotoh, on the other hand, was completely ordinary.

But in front of Yomagn’tho Ren Kurose, neither of them belonged to the kind of existence capable of resisting his corruption.

Even after two newcomers joined, however, Ren Kurose’s mute still hadn’t been lifted.

Still, during this period, Ren Kurose had gained a rough understanding of how the Dimensional Chat Group worked.

It really was nothing more than a place where people from different dimensions gathered to chat.

It didn’t have the usual features found in similar novels, such as an ability shop, points system, or anything like that.

It was genuinely just for chatting.

There was, however, one additional function.

Members could send red packets.

There didn’t appear to be any restriction on what could be placed inside them.

Even items possessing supernatural abilities could be sent.

Unfortunately, roughly half the group consisted of ordinary people, so there wasn’t much worth exchanging at the moment.

Bai Yuekui had once sent out a medicinal agent capable of strengthening a person’s constitution.

She had only done so after hearing that Takashi Natsume had been injured in an attack by a yokai.

Takashi Natsume was one of the two veteran members who had been offline and therefore escaped Ren Kurose’s corruption when he first spoke.

He came from Natsume’s Book of Friends. Visit g.com for the full chapter.

Naturally, to thank Bai Yuekui, Takashi Natsume had also sent her something in return.

If Ren Kurose remembered correctly, it was a talisman imbued with some special ability related to yokai.

Trading one item for another like that seemed considerably fairer.

It was also worth mentioning that the other veteran group member who hadn’t been affected by Ren Kurose back then was named Conan Edogawa.

Of course, calling him Shinichi Kudo would also be correct.

That’s right.

He was exactly the elementary-school Grim Reaper Ren Kurose remembered.

With that kid around, it felt like people near him ought to start dying every few days.

Huh?

There wasn’t a single living thing anywhere near Ren Kurose?

Then never mind.

With newcomers joining the group, it was certainly worth celebrating.

The Chat Group was gradually becoming more populated.

Unfortunately, Ren Kurose still couldn’t say a single word.

It was incredibly frustrating.

Then, one day, as time continued to pass and Ren Kurose waited for his mute to finally be lifted, he suddenly sensed something unusual.

It felt as though…

someone was calling him.

At the same time, Ren Kurose felt an instinctive urge to go toward that person.

In an instant, he understood what was happening.

Ecstasy surged through him.

This was— someone summoning him!

At last!

The day he had been waiting for had finally arrived.

Back when Ren Kurose first located Earth’s coordinates, he had desperately wanted to return.

Unfortunately, he couldn’t enter it.

His only hope had been for someone to summon him.

But now that a summoning had finally come…

Ren Kurose couldn’t help wondering whether the person calling him came from the same world he had lived in before his transmigration.

That left a rather large question mark in his mind.
