“Mo Wang?
How did you get here?” Kiana stared at Mo Wang, who had seemingly popped out of nowhere, looking utterly bewildered.
“What if I said I took the stairs?” Mo Wang pointed at the stairwell beside him.
“What the hell?” Kiana shot him an exasperated look.
That wasn’t what she’d asked.
“Tsk, forget that for now.
Is…
is Bronya okay?” Kiana glanced down at Bronya lying on the ground.
Damn, he’d gone straight for the back of her head—wasn’t he afraid one swing would just kill her?
“She’s fine.
I think the duck’s body is tough enough—only slightly less durable than the academy’s principal.
A whack with a stick won’t kill her.” Mo Wang said matter-of-factly.
“Really?
No way!
But that still doesn’t mean you should hit her in the back of the head!” Kiana complained.
“What do you know?
That’s called striking a vital point, understand?”
“As the saying goes: strike the throat above, strike the groin below, both ribs and the center, the nose bridge to blind the eyes, and one palm to the back of the head to take the soul.”
“This is documented in the martial arts manuals.”
Mo Wang said this with the utmost seriousness to Kiana.
“What the heck is all that?
I can’t understand any of it.” Kiana, being a foreigner, had no idea what these bizarre sayings meant.
What was that weird Chinese even supposed to mean?
Let’s speak English, please.
“Never mind all that nonsense.
Shouldn’t we be getting out of here with the injured?
Haven’t you noticed Mei’s already on the ground?” Mo Wang gave Kiana a smack on the back of her head and pointed at Mei, who had been lying face-down on the floor for who knows how long.
“Oh right!
We should get Mei out of here first—” Kiana was saying, when she saw Bronya on the ground suddenly stand up like a zombie.
Those blood-red eyes seemed even redder than before.
Well, of course, if it weren’t for the tears at the corners of her eyes, she’d actually look pretty terrifying.
“See, I told you that stick wouldn’t kill her.” Mo Wang called out to Kiana as he watched Bronya get up.
“Is this really the time to worry about that?
Can’t you see she’s already pulled out the Italy Cannon?!” Kiana shouted as she grabbed Mei and started running.
A massive cannon appeared above Bronya’s head, looking like it was about to blast Mo Wang—the guy who’d hit her in the back of the head—into dust.
“Holy crap, that much firepower?
Why doesn’t my character in the game do this?
Damn devs!
Nerfing characters again!”
“BOOM!”
The overwhelming firepower covered the entire deck of the Moonlight Throne.
At the last critical moment, Kiana managed to use Space-Time Fracture to get Mei to safety.
“That Mo Wang guy…
he couldn’t have died, right?” After setting Mei down, Kiana immediately ran toward where Mo Wang was.
“Cough!
Cough!
Mo Wang, are you okay!” Kiana shouted into the smoke.
Just then, a faint golden light flickered up ahead.
“What’s that?”
As the dust began to clear, there was Mo Wang, hiding behind a projected Judas.
“Phew~ That was close, so close.
Good thing I’m one step ahead.” Mo Wang patted himself down as he spoke.
Though he didn’t look like he’d almost died at all.
“Holy crap, Judas?!” Kiana stared in disbelief at the massive cross in front of Mo Wang.
“You’re dead meat!
You actually stole Judas?!
Aunt Theresa will kill you!”
“Don’t be ridiculous.” Mo Wang shoved Kiana aside.
“How would I have the ability to steal Judas?
This is a replica, a replica, okay!”
“A replica?” Kiana looked at the gleaming golden Judas with a strange expression.
She’d seen what replica Judas weapons looked like before, but none of them came anywhere close to this one.
And Mo Wang was claiming this was a replica?
Whose replica could withstand the duck’s cannon fire?
“Heh, you caught me.
Actually, let me tell you—every Divine Key actually has two versions.
The one Theresa has is the female version, and mine is the male version.
Mine’s actually better, you know?” Mo Wang said mysteriously to Kiana.
“What male and female versions?
You’re definitely messing with me, aren’t you!” Kiana gritted her teeth.
Did this guy think she’d never heard of Journey to the West or something?
“Oh?
You can tell I’m messing with you?
Your IQ’s gone up in just a few hours?
What medicine did you take?”
“Shut up!
Oh no, Bronya’s coming again!”
Just as Kiana was bickering with Mo Wang, Bronya, with her eyes glowing red, launched another attack.
But this time, apparently realizing her ranged attacks weren’t doing much, the duck directly summoned Project Bunny and decided to go melee.
“Stand back!
Let me handle this.
It’s time to turn the duck into Peking duck!” Mo Wang shoved Kiana behind him and flashed Bronya a bloodthirsty grin that only a magnetic field madman would have.
“Huh?
Hey!
What are you talking about?” Kiana was completely thrown off by Mo Wang’s words.
What was all this?
“Take this!
Storm Style!”
But Mo Wang didn’t answer Kiana.
A massive energy greatsword emitting a faint glow suddenly appeared in his hand.
The blade gleamed coldly in the sunlight, carving a graceful arc as Mo Wang swung it straight toward Project Bunny’s arm.
“CLANG!” A crisp metallic sound rang out as the blade collided with Project Bunny’s armor, producing a deafening echo.
The force was so great that Mo Wang’s sword was sent flying in an instant.
Yet there was no panic on his face.
Without pause, another blade appeared in his hand—a Nato sword—and he slashed at Bronya without hesitation.
“Projection!
Nato: Electric Soul!” He roared.
Golden lightning coiled around the blade as it struck Bronya’s armor like a thunderbolt.
Sparks exploded at the moment of contact, and Bronya was knocked back several steps.
Her emotionless face now showed a hint of seriousness.
But Mo Wang didn’t stop.
He tossed the blade aside, and another greatsword materialized in an instant.
“Projection!
Ultra-Heavy Sword: King Snake!” The green blade descended like a giant python, slamming heavily into Bronya’s armor.
The immense impact forced her back again.
As the battle grew more intense, more blades appeared around Mo Wang—Alloy Betrayer, Hybrid Greatsword Type-16, Crystalline Reverse-Edge Blade, Energy-Absorbing Tachi…
Weapons sprouted from his hands like bamboo after rain, each one projected in an instant and hurled relentlessly at Bronya.
Under such frequent assaults, Bronya was pushed back step by step, cracks forming across her black armor.
“Final strike!”
Facing Bronya, who had now shown an opening, Mo Wang’s hand held a greatsword wreathed in blazing flames.
“That’s—!” Kiana, watching from the side, was at a loss for words.
That sword was unmistakably the weapon her deadbeat dad used—the Greatsword of Heavenly Fire!
“Taste this!
I’m going to unleash an awesome attack!”
The Greatsword of Heavenly Fire, wreathed in flames, swung down fiercely at Bronya.
“BOOM!”
With yet another explosion, Bronya’s black armor finally shattered completely.
The Corruption state had been forcibly beaten back this time.
“Tsk, so I still can’t project this thing properly yet.” Mo Wang looked at the dissipating Greatsword of Heavenly Fire in his hand with some dissatisfaction.
Normally, with the true power of the Greatsword of Heavenly Fire, never mind the Moonlight Throne—even the city below would be destroyed.
Unfortunately, with his current magical power, there was no way he could project such an awesome attack.
But thankfully, Mo Wang wasn’t disappointed.
If he’d actually managed to conjure the real Greatsword of Heavenly Fire, he’d probably lose his hand in the process.
“Oh, right.
Almost forgot about this.”
Mo Wang pulled out his phone and took a photo of himself with the downed duck.
“Hehe, I’ll save this photo.
From now on, I can use it to blackmail the rich lady into working for me.”
Looking at the photo in his hand, Mo Wang let out a sly chuckle.
Thank you so much for following this story with me.
