[Two days ago, I ran into Ichika Nakano, one of the main heroines from The Quintessential Quintuplets.]
[I also spotted Mai-senpai wandering the streets completely invisible, nibbling on stolen bread while wearing a bunny girl outfit.]
[At first, I honestly thought this was just a chill crossover anime world centered around slice-of-life anime.]
[But two days ago, I literally ran into Shinobu Kochō.
Holy crap, the Demon Slayer world got mashed in here too?
Doesn’t that make this place stupidly dangerous?]
[And yesterday, I even caught sight of Rangiku Matsumoto.
Are you insane?
Even the Bleach world is thrown into the mix?!]
[Total chaos.
This world is a complete and utter mess, cranked up to maximum danger.]
[What terrifies me even more is that I just realized my current apartment is situated right next door to the Mōri Detective Agency.]
[Damn it all!
Turns out I’m living right in Beika City, right beside that little elementary school harbinger of death, Conan!
Isn’t this just shaving years off my lifespan?!]
[Everyone knows Conan is a walking jinx radiating a natural aura of death.]
[Anyone who hangs around him, as long as they aren’t part of the core main cast, faces a constant, round-the-clock risk of dying a horrible death.]
[Being anywhere near him means walking down the street in sheer terror, because a second later some lunatic might pop out of nowhere and start spraying bullets blindly in your direction.]
[No way, I’ve got to move out.
I absolutely have to pack my bags and move!
I need to get far away from Conan and put as much distance as possible between myself and Beika City.]
[It’s an open secret that Beika City boasts the single highest crime rate across the entire Conan universe.]
[Before I transmigrated, the Conan anime had already aired over a thousand and ten episodes, and across all those cases, in a span of less than two canonical years, the total death toll reached a staggering eight hundred and thirty-one people.]
[And half of those horrific homicides went down right here in Beika City.]
Reading up to this point, Ran was utterly dumbfounded: “What?
Conan is an elementary school harbinger of death with a natural aura of death?”
Once the initial shock faded, Ran mulled it over carefully, only to realize with a sinking feeling that it was entirely accurate.
Ever since Conan showed up, the gruesome homicide cases her father handled had been spiking day after day.
There were times when they would stumble into multiple consecutive murder scenes within a single afternoon.
The thought sent a shiver straight down her spine, raising goosebumps all over her arms.
In less than two years, eight hundred and thirty-one people dead…
that meant an average of more than one person dying every single day.
That wasn’t just some harbinger of death; the kid was practically a living, breathing god of death in human form.
Right now, only one desperate thought echoed in Ran’s mind: ‘We can’t keep doing this.
We definitely cannot keep looking after this kid any longer.’
‘If we keep raising him under our roof, our entire family might end up dead without a trace.’
Shuddering at the grim thought, she hurried back to the text.
[Thank goodness Ran Mōri is the primary female lead of the Conan world, meaning the entire Mōri family is wrapped in layers of thick plot armor.
Otherwise, spending every single day alongside Conan would have gotten them killed a dozen times over by now.]
[Even so, Ran Mōri is still slated to get dragged into countless life-threatening incidents down the line, nearly biting the dust over and over again.]
[Sigh, living with Conan genuinely demands nerves of absolute steel.]
[Either way, there’s no way my fragile sanity can handle that kind of daily stress, so packing up and moving out is my top priority.]
[Of course, since this is a massive crossover anime world, there’s definitely more than just one main cast roaming around.]
[Because of that, whatever original plotlines I knew from the anime are probably shattered beyond recognition by now.]
[Trying to rely on future knowledge to grab easy advantages seems completely out of the question.]
[To be completely honest, I’m panicking pretty hard here.]
[In a world crawling with Demons, Hollows, and shadowed by an elementary school death-bringer alongside a high school reaper of souls, an ordinary guy like me could get wiped out at any given moment.]
[Fortunately, my cheat—the legendary Golden Finger—has finally arrived.]
[Turns out the universal rule that every transmigrator gets a cheat and a Golden Finger is the real deal.]
[What a massive relief.]
[My cheat happens to be the Diary System.]
[Awesome.
I’m super familiar with this trope since I read plenty of novels like this before transmigrating.]
[Using this system is dead simple: all I have to do is write an entry in the diary every day to get rewarded.]
[Though based on all the web novels I’ve read, I’m willing to bet that the second I start writing in this diary, the system is going to pull some shenanigans and randomly distribute exclusive copies to all the female leads and key supporting heroines in this world.]
Ran froze as she read through those sentences.
She looked down at the notebook in her hands, her thoughts racing: ‘Could it be that the diary in my hands came about exactly like that, delivered straight to me by this so-called System?’
It made it almost impossible for Ran not to believe it.
After all, she had never met anyone named Hayashi Rin, yet this journal had materialized out of thin air right inside her bedroom.
Furthermore, no one else could perceive it except her—every single detail matched the book’s description down to a tee.
Harboring countless doubts, Ran pressed on.
[Even though I know full well that whatever I write will end up being read by a bunch of people, for the sake of the system rewards, I’ve still got to write.]
[If I don’t write my daily entries and snag those rewards, how am I supposed to grow stronger, and how will I ever shatter the dimensional barrier to return home in the future?]
[Besides, without getting stronger, how am I even supposed to survive in such a ridiculously perilous world?]
[What if an Upper Rank Demon randomly ambushes me while I’m just out taking a stroll?
Wouldn’t I just drop dead on the spot?]
[As for what to write in the diary itself, come on, I’ve read so many novels, who doesn’t know how to write a diary entry?]
[Isn’t the whole point just to continuously drop plot spoilers anyway?]
[Ran Mōri, you must be dying to know where Shinichi Kudō ran off to, right?]
[Haha, truth is, he’s actually not far from you at all, but I’m definitely not going to tell you who he really is.]
The moment she hit that line, Ran’s emotional dam completely shattered.
Her fist clenched tight, and with a resounding crash, she slammed her fist into the mattress with enough force to shatter the bedframe beneath it, causing the entire bed to collapse inward.
“You jerk!”
Ran gritted her teeth in absolute fury: “This Hayashi Rin guy is seriously the most annoying person on the planet!”
“He clearly knows who Shinichi really is, so why won’t he just spit it out?!”
Yet, despite her rage boiling over, she was completely powerless to do anything about it.
“Wait, the diary mentioned that he lives right around this neighborhood.
Just you wait…
you better pray I don’t track you down!”
Fuming, Ran pushed herself up, ready to march downstairs and scour the surrounding streets for Hayashi Rin.
Alerted by the loud crash from the room, Kogoro and Conan poked their heads around the doorframe, instantly freezing as they took in the terrifying aura of wrath rolling off Ran.
“Ran, what’s going on?
What got you so worked up all of a sudden?”
“Y-Yeah, Ran-nēchan, why are you so angry that you ended up breaking the whole bed?”
Ran whipped her head around, her glare fierce: “You two stay out of this!
There’s a certain scoundrel out there who’s deliberately pushing my buttons!”
Hearing that, Conan instinctively pulled his head back, a drop of cold sweat rolling down his cheek: ‘She can’t possibly be talking about me, right?’
‘Oh man, I really need to find a public payphone fast and give her a call to calm her down.’
Kogoro also shot an irritated side-eye toward Conan, grumbling under his breath: ‘This has got to be another mess stirred up by this little brat.
Can’t wait to see what happens next?
