At that moment, Miwako Satō stared intently at the Diary hovering in mid-air right before her eyes.

If this person was indeed Hayashi Rin, he definitely knew the identity of the culprit behind this horrific crime, and he would certainly know the location of the second hidden bomb.

If this world truly was an Anime World just as he claimed, and he had watched the entire anime series spanning well over a thousand episodes, he would undoubtedly know how to prevent this tragedy from repeating itself.Full novel: My Crossover Diary: Good Luck Finding Me, Heroines! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Miwako Satō clenched her fists tightly.

“But how am I supposed to reach this person?”

“He’s currently in the Land of Ke.

I don’t even know if he’s seen the news yet.”

“If he does see it, will he leak information about this case in his Diary?”

With that thought in mind, Miwako Satō immediately hurried over to Inspector Megure.

“Inspector Megure, please contact all the television networks and have them broadcast this incident live right now, so that everyone across the Land of Ke can see it.”

Inspector Megure frowned in utter confusion.

“Why on earth would we do that?

Doing so will only incite massive public panic.”

Miwako Satō pleaded urgently, “I beg of you, Inspector.

This is the only way we can bring this case to a complete resolution.”

“I need to deliver a message to a certain person through that broadcast.”

“He is the only one who can put a stop to this tragedy.”

Hearing her explanation, Inspector Megure shook his head resolutely.

“Miwako, I don’t know who this person is that you’re talking about, but I don’t have that kind of authority.”

“A nationwide live broadcast carries immense responsibility and risk, and I am merely a police inspector.”

“A decision to air an ongoing active case live across the entire country rests solely with the top brass of the Metropolitan Police Department and the National Police Agency.”

Miwako Satō pressed on, “If that’s the case, Inspector Megure, let us go together and submit a formal request to our superiors.

I’m begging you!”

Inspector Megure sighed and replied, “Even if we submit a request, higher-ups would never approve it.”

Hearing those words, the light in Miwako Satō’s eyes instantly dimmed with deep disappointment.

Suddenly, a realization struck her.

She swiftly pulled out her cell phone and dialed Sonoko Suzuki’s number.

The moment the call connected, Miwako Satō spoke in a rush: “Sonoko, do you also have the Di—”

Right then, an invisible, overwhelming law seized her throat in an iron grip, cutting her words off completely.

The mysterious force delivered a stern, chilling warning to her mind, dictating that she was strictly forbidden from revealing anything about the Diary to unrelated third parties.

The sheer helplessness brought tears of frustration and distress to her eyes.

‘Why?

Why is this happening?’

‘Does this mean Sonoko Suzuki isn’t a Diary holder?’

Thinking of that possibility, she quickly switched lines and dialed Ran Mōri’s number.

But just as she parted her lips to speak, that same invisible constriction clamped down on her throat, suffocating every syllable before it could leave her mouth.

‘Why?’

‘Could it be that Ran Mōri isn’t a Diary holder either?’

‘Then who else can I turn to for help?’

Miwako Satō felt all the strength drain from her body, her thoughts spiraling into a deep fog of despair.

Over the receiver, Ran Mōri’s puzzled voice rang out: “Hello?

Hello!”

“Officer Satō, is there something urgent you wanted to say?”

“You’ve been acting very strangely today.

You called Sonoko a moment ago, only to hang up after a few broken words, and now you’re calling me.”

“Why are you staying silent?”

Amidst the swirling panic, Miwako Satō’s eyes suddenly flew wide open.

‘No, that’s impossible!

There is no way Ran Mōri isn’t a Diary Copy holder!’

‘That man, Hayashi Rin, has mentioned Ran Mōri’s name over and over again, clearly showing how much he adores her.

On top of that, he ranked Ran fourth on the Land of Ke anime goddess list.’

‘By all logical reasoning, any anime girl who makes it onto his review rankings should possess a Diary Copy.’

‘So why did that invisible force gag me and warn me against leaking the Diary’s existence to unrelated people the moment I tried to ask?’

‘What triggered the restriction?’

She instinctively glanced over her shoulder and spotted Inspector Megure standing only a short distance away.

Realizing her mistake, Miwako Satō smacked her own forehead in exasperation, spun around, and sprinted away.

Watching her sudden dash, Inspector Megure looked completely baffled.

“What on earth has gotten into her today?”

“Why is she acting so out of sorts?”

“Ah…

This case must have brought back all the painful memories of Jinpei Matsuda’s death three years ago.

It’s only natural her emotions are running high.”

After running more than twenty meters away and ensuring no one else was within earshot, Miwako Satō spoke into the phone once more: “Ran, are you a Diary Copy holder as well?”

Sure enough, with no ordinary bystanders nearby, the words flowed smoothly from her lips without the slightest interference.

This was absolute proof that Ran Mōri was indeed a Diary Copy holder.

Ran Mōri’s relieved and cheerful voice came through the line: “So Officer Satō is also a Diary Copy holder!

That’s such a relief.”

Miwako Satō asked anxiously, “Is Sonoko Suzuki with you right now?

Is she a Diary holder too?”

Ran Mōri answered immediately, “Yes, Sonoko is right here beside me, and she’s a Diary holder as well.”

“Was that what you were trying to ask Sonoko earlier?

Why didn’t you just say so back then?”

Miwako Satō explained, “There were other people around me earlier.

When I tried to speak, an invisible force choked my words because Inspector Megure was standing right next to me.

That power forbids us from revealing the Diary’s existence to anyone unrelated.”

“Now that I’ve found a secluded spot, I can finally speak freely.”

“Listen, we don’t have much time.

Please hand the phone over to Miss Sonoko.”

Sonoko Suzuki took the phone and asked, “Officer Satō, what’s going on?”

Miwako Satō said earnestly, “Could I ask you for a massive favor?

Since we are both Diary Copy holders, would you be willing to help me out just this once?”

“This concerns the lives of twelve million citizens across Tokyo.”

“I don’t know if you two have seen the latest breaking news yet?”

Sonoko Suzuki answered in surprise, “Did something just happen?

Ran and I have been reading the Diary entries, so we haven’t been paying attention to the TV.”

Miwako Satō quickly explained, “Please turn on your television right away.

A vicious criminal has just triggered a bombing incident at Tokyo Tower.”

“At the same time, he has planted a second, far larger explosive somewhere else in the city.

It possesses enough destructive force to completely level everything within a two to three hundred meter radius.”

“If that bomb goes off, the casualties will be unimaginable.”

“The problem is, the police have no leads on the culprit’s identity or the location of that second bomb.”

Can’t wait to see what happens next?
