15: Nikla’s Death

My Degenerate Academia: A Grotesque Story

Nikla had gotten sick for the first time in 10 years. A rare disease that only affected Nephilims and could be transmitted through the air. How did it happen? Well, her mother, Nadia, had allowed a black man in the house; a large, muscular, ugly, smelly man, with an unkempt afro.

Nikla was in her room, lying on her big bed. Mr. Bunny was on her side, watching over her. She was burning up, her forehead was sweaty, and her cheeks were flushed. She was dreaming a lot; her dreams were weird, nonsensical, and sometimes scary.

Nadia bought a beautiful coffin. It was made of mahogany, with a glass lid. It had golden handles and silver ornaments. She placed the coffin next to the bed to remind Nikla of her impending death.

"My poor baby girl, you are dying, and I can't do anything about it." She covered her face with both hands and pretended to cry.

There were candles all around, and flowers everywhere. It was a very sad scene.

"Mom...” Nikla murmured. “WHY CAN’T YOU BE NORMAL?!"

"Because I love you, sweetie. I want you to die in style. You'll be the most stylish dead person in the world," said Nadia, wiping her fake tears.

Nikla's mother knew her daughter was in no danger. The Putito Virus wasn't deadly to Nephilims; it didn't even have any long-term negative effects. She had gotten it when she was young and had gotten better in no time.

Meanwhile, in the school’s auditorium, Mr. Eladio spoke into the microphone. His eyes were red from crying. Nikla's illness had affected him greatly, but he had also caught his cock in his zipper while masturbating, so his tears weren't just for his student.

He cleared his throat. "I have a sad announcement to make," he said, his voice trembling. "It is with great sorrow that I must inform you that our dear Nikla is very sick. She is in a lot of pain and is unable to come to school today."

"NOOOOOO!" Kristen fell to his knees. "NOOOOOOO!" he repeated. He couldn't bear the thought of losing Nikla. He loved her more than anything in the world.

The other students were irritated by his outburst and attacked him. They all took turns kicking him in the stomach, stomping on his face, and spitting in his mouth.

"If anyone goes to see Nikla today, please, wear a mask!" The principal shouted. “Like when Covid was around! But this time it's real."

Most of the students didn't care about the announcement. They just wanted to go home. But Nero got worried. "If Nikla dies, Kana will cry," he told himself. "I can't have that."

Kana smiled. "Let's go see her, Nero! We can bring her gifts! Maybe some flowers? Or some cake?"

"Yes!" Nero nodded. "I shall bring arrope, sugus, and an assortment of delicious foods."

Kristen overheard the conversation, and his micro penis stood at attention. "I want to go too," he wheezed from the floor. A large puddle of urine spread around him.

Kana frowned. "Kristen. Your stench is going to kill her faster than the virus. If you want to come, you have to take a bath."

"Yes, Kana! I will go wash myself now!"

The retarded ginger ran to the school's bathroom, stripped naked, and jumped into a toilet bowl. He filled his hands with toilet water and splashed it on his face, chest, and crotch.

In the end, a huge caravan of people headed toward Nadia's mansion, holding candles, incense, and crosses. They were there to pray for Nikla and help her reach Nirvana. Nero and Kana were in the front, with Nero holding a basket full of candies.

Some people were saying the girl would pass away soon and join her father, others were talking about how beautiful she was, and how God had called her to heaven.

These words made Kristen cry like a baby. His snot ran down his face, mixing with the toilet water he'd used to wash.

The caravan grew larger as more people joined, some out of genuine concern, others for the spectacle. The procession moved through the streets of Crysalton, a bizarre mix of solemnity and absurdity.

They blocked the streets, causing traffic jams. Drivers honked their horns; some joined the procession, others tried to push through, but Nero blew a mouthful of fire, scaring them all away.

Stores were sacked by the blackest members of the caravan, who took advantage of the chaos. They stole TVs, phones, and anything they could carry, disappearing into the slums with their loot.

A few priests joined and began chanting. "Ven con nosotros a caminar con Dios, en el buen sendero del cielo," they chanted, holding hands in prayer.

Even Priest Otis joined. He canceled his date with the choir boys to lead the procession, his white robes billowing behind him. "We are all sinners!" he shouted, his voice cracking with emotion.

Since most priests were in the procession, the little boys of Crysalton were safe for the day. They ran free, unbothered by the holy men, their laughter echoing through the streets.

Finally, they arrived at Nadia's mansion. It was a huge, gothic structure, with gargoyles leering from the roof. A single light burned in a window on the second floor. It was Nikla's room.

The mansion's iron gates, forged to resemble twisted, screaming faces, stood open. A large sign read "SEE THE DYING GIRL! 10 EUROS TO ENTER. 5 EUROS FOR CHILDREN AND THE ELDERLY. PHOTOS ARE 15 EUROS EXTRA. NO REFUNDS!"

Everyone had to pay, even the priests. They emptied the collection boxes, the coins clinking as they paid the bouncer, a hulking Nephilim with a forked tail and small horns.

Since Kristen was dirt poor, Nero paid for him. Kristen was moved. For once, Nero's charity wasn't a prank. "Thank you, Nero," he said, sobbing.

And like that, the whole procession walked through the long hallways of the mansion, their shoes squeaking on the marble floors. Paintings of demons and angels at war lined the walls, their eyes seeming to follow the procession.

Nadia greeted them at Nikla's door, wearing a black veil and a long, dark dress. "Welcome, mourners," she said, her voice dripping with fake sorrow. "My daughter is... resting."

She opened the door and asked them all to show her their tickets. The crowd surged forward, pushing and shoving, all desperate to get a glimpse of the dying girl.

Nero and Kana were first, followed by the priests, Michael Jackson, and other famous child lovers who had come to pay their respects. Kristen tried to squeeze in, but Nadia grabbed him by the hair.

Kristen squealed like a pig. Nadia shoved Kristen into a potato sack, tied it shut, and hung it from a coat rack. "You will have to wait, little man," she said, smiling.

The candles dimly lighted the room, the flowers' sweet perfume mixing with the scent of wax and impending doom. Nikla lay on the bed, looking pale and fragile.

Dr. Gero, the half-android, half-human doctor, was checking her vitals. His robotic eye whirred as he scanned her body. "Her temperature is 40 degrees Celsius," he announced, his voice a monotone. "She has the Putito Virus. It is... unfortunate."

The crowd gasped. "Is she going to make it?" asked a woman in the back.

Dr. Gero's robotic eye spun. "The prognosis is... uncertain," he said. "But I have this experimental medicine. It might cure her." He held up a syringe filled with a glowing green liquid.

Nadia had to intervene and kick Dr. Gero's head off his shoulders. The head flew across the room and hit the wall. "I said no doctors, you walking scrapheap!" she said, frowning.

"I was just trying to help..." the severed head mumbled from the floor. The body began to emit a red light; a self-destruct sequence initiated.

Nadia grunted both head and body and threw them out the window. The body exploded outside, and the head landed on a bush, where it was crushed by Android 17.

"I can't believe I lost to a woman," the head mumbled before exploding.

Nadia clapped her hands. "Alright, everyone, the doctor is gone! Back to mourning!"

Mr. Eladio was the loudest mourner of all. He had made it to the front of the crowd, his face a mess of tears and snot. He held a bouquet of roses that he had stolen from someone's garden. "My dear Nikla... You're like a daughter to me. A very hot, very young daughter that I would love to hug and more." He took a step forward, but Nadia stopped him with a glare.

The obese principal wished to give her the kiss of life, but he was terrified of Nadia. So he just stood there, weeping silently, the stolen roses wilting in his sweaty grasp. His mustache, usually slick with grease, drooped sadly.

The situation was so dire that even Rea came. Despite their differences, Rea had grown to respect Nikla. She felt the virus could be the end of her rival, and she needed to witness her demise firsthand.

Rea approached Nikla and looked down at her. "Please, spare her from this suffering, Lord. Give her a quick death," she said, begging Allah to kill Nikla quickly.

When the end seemed unavoidable, the Grim Reaper arrived. The room fell silent as the cloaked figure walked in. His scythe scraped against the floor, making a horrible screeching noise that made everyone's teeth ache.

Some began to cry, others passed out, and others prayed. Kristen, who had managed to escape the potato sack thanks to fingering his asshole, was the most affected. He fell to the floor, rolling around like a toddler having a tantrum.

"NO! PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY NIKU!" he said, kneeling and begging for mercy.

The Grim Reaper stood beside Nikla's bed and looked at her. He raised his scythe. Everyone held their breath. The scythe came down.

BEEEEEEEEEEP

The heart rate monitor screamed as the line went flat.

Kristen fainted, his face pale, his eyes rolling back in his head. Mr. Eladio let out a gut-wrenching sob, the roses falling from his hands, petals scattering on the marble floor.

Kana hugged Nero and cried on his chest. "She's gone, Nero! She's gone!"

Nero patted her back, not understanding the fuss. Death was a natural part of life, just like eating cake or setting things on fire.

Most were crying, except for Rea, who was jumping up and down with joy. "YES! SHE IS FINALLY DEAD! YES!" she said, clapping her hands and stomping her feet.

Nadia smiled. The machine wasn't even connected to Nikla. It was just there for dramatic effect. She stood in the middle of the room, a portrait of grief, her black veil casting a shadow over her face. "My daughter... She has joined her father in the afterlife. A beautiful, tragic end to a beautiful, tragic life."

Everyone clapped and thanked Nadia for her powerful words. They all agreed it was a fitting eulogy.

After that, people began leaving to mourn Nikla or to celebrate her death, in the case of Rea and her minions. Nadia's pockets were now full of money, and the woman was happy to have pulled such a great prank.

The Grim Reaper finally pulled down his hood, revealing a familiar face.

Danna Ai.

The loli stood next to Nikla's bed, holding a plastic scythe she had crafted herself.

"Very well." Danna nodded. "Time to save this poor dying soul, and the world!" She raised the scythe.

And that's how a new quest was born. The quest to save Nikla Infernoz Rain from the clutches of death itself. A quest that would take them to the darkest corners of Nikla's mind to find out what had caused the illness in the first place.

But that's a story for another day.
