16: Quest to Save The Love of my Life

My Degenerate Academia: A Grotesque Story

The death of Nikla had greatly affected our heroes. They stood around her bed, their faces grim, the weight of their loss pressing down on them. The room was still, the only sound the faint ticking of a grandfather clock in the corner.

Nero couldn't grasp the finality of it all. "Should we put her in the coffin now?" he asked, his crimson eyes wide with genuine curiosity.

"She's not dead," said Danna Ai, placing her hand on her forehead. "But she will be soon. Unless we enter her dreams and fight the Putito virus."

"Danna..." Kana started, clenching her fists. "Shut the fuck up! My best friend is dead!"

"Wait!" Nero intervened. "Let's hear her out."

"I've read about this virus in my father's journals," Danna continued, ignoring Kana's comment. "It's caused by deep-rooted trauma, and it feeds on the negative emotions of its host. Nikla's body was able to fight it off for a while, but now the virus has evolved. It's now an emotional parasite, and it's eating her from the inside."

"And... what do we do?" asked Nero, holding Kana back so she wouldn't attack the loli.

"We have to go into her dreams," Danna said, her silver eyes gleaming with excitement. "We need to do it before the virus consumes her soul. We need to find the core of her trauma."

"And how are we going to do that?" asked Chong Chong, who had just arrived with his balls tied with a black cord to mourn Nikla properly.

Danna Ai smiled. "I have a device my father made. It's called the Mind Machine. It will allow us to enter Nikla’s dreams and defeat the virus."

And like that, our heroes had a mission. A mission that would take them to the darkest corners of a Nephilim's mind. Kana was still skeptical, but Nero was convinced. He saw this as a grand adventure, a chance to prove himself.

The likes of Chong Chong, Caillou, and Pitito also joined the quest to save Nikla from her dreams. Why? Well, the group needed people to sacrifice in case things went badly.

Kristen had recovered from his faint and was trying to join in too. "I'll do anything to save Niku! Anything!" he screamed at the top of his lungs.

However, his stench was stinking up the whole place, so our heroes had no choice but to shove him out the window. He fell on a bush, where a swarm of bees immediately attacked him.

After getting rid of the most annoying of the bunch, they gathered around Nikla's bed. Danna placed the device on the floor and plugged it into a nearby socket. Then, she placed a helmet on Nikla's head and turned on the device.

The group stood on a dirty, stained mattress in the middle of the room. Danna had taken it from a nearby mosque after her father had set it on fire.

She pressed a big red button, and the machine began to hum. Danna's silver hair stood on end, and she smiled wickedly.

There was a blinding flash of light, and the group felt a sudden sensation of falling. They were being sucked into the machine and into Nikla's dreams.

When the light faded, the world was different. They were in a dark and cold place. In there, Nadia's mansion was a castle full of eldritch abominations, and the people looked like demons. The world was full of black and red clouds, and bats were flying everywhere.

"Where are we?" asked Kana.

"This is Nikla's dream," Danna answered, holding her scythe. "We need to find the Putito virus and defeat it."

Chong Chong looked at his balls and noticed the cord had turned into a chain with a metal ball at the end. "What's this?" he asked, squishing his scrotum.

"Ah, yes. That's the cord of fate," Danna explained. "It's what keeps us linked to the real world. As long as we have it, we can return to the real world."

"AAAAAAH! WHERE THE HELL AM I!" Rea appeared, screaming. She had accidentally stepped on the mattress.

"You're in Nikla's dream," Nero answered, smiling. "I'm glad you decided to come help us."

"I didn't decide to come! I was looking for something to take home since that bitch died! I wanted to take that weird stuffed rabbit!"

"Speaking of Mr. Bunny," Nero looked around. "He should be here somewhere."

"I'm right here," Mr. Bunny said, emerging from behind a dark wall.

In Nikla's world, Mr. Bunny was no longer a stuffed toy. Now, he was a 7-foot-tall, muscular, anthropomorphic rabbit with erect ears. He wore a spiked collar around his neck and nothing else. His fur was pink, and his cock was huge and swung with every step.

"HOLY SHIT!" Rea screamed, her mouth wide open.

"I am Mr. Bunny, Nikla's best friend." His voice was deep and menacing, and his eyes were red.

"He's scary," Kana whispered.

"He's just Nikla's version of him. He's a good boy, I'm sure of that," Nero replied.

Danna walked forward. "Mr. Bunny. You already know why we are here. We need your help."

Mr. Bunny smiled, showing his huge front teeth. "Of course. Nikla's in danger. She needs our help. Follow me. I'll take you to my base."

The heroes followed the monster, passing through the streets of the nightmare city. Mutilated corpses were everywhere, and the living were in the process of being murdered by demonic entities.

It wasn't too different from Crysalton, but here, there was no happiness, no joy, no love—only sadness, despair, and pain.

Mr. Bunny's huge ass bounced with every step he took. It was mesmerizing to look at, and Caillou smiled, staring at his bunny tail. He wished he could touch it.

They finally made it to Nikla's version of her own house. The mansion had a glowing red mouth as a door, and the windows were its eyes. It was a living entity that laughed at Caillou's cancer.

Multiple skeletons and ghosts watched them. Some played guitars, distorted music filling the air. Others fought, their bodies being torn apart by chains and spikes. Danna Ai smiled. She'd take one of those skeletons home.

"Welcome to Nikla's home," Mr. Bunny said, smiling. "Let's go inside."

The mouth opened wide, and the heroes entered.

Inside, there were more skeletons and dead people. The butlers were skeletons wearing red bow ties. They smiled and welcomed the group.

A dwarf emerged from a room completely on fire and ran to them, screaming, while the flames consumed his body.

Mr. Bunny shielded the group from the disgusting creature and used his cock to smash his head, sending him against the wall. Then, he destroyed the burning body with a single thrust.

Nero and Danna smiled while Kana, Rea, and the rest were horrified.

"What the fuck is wrong with Nikla!?" asked Kana, her eyes wide open.

"Her dreams are just special. That's all," Mr. Bunny explained.

They finally reached Nikla's room at the end of the hallway, but the door was closed. The buff rabbit pushed it with all his strength, his muscles bulging, but it wouldn't budge.

"I've been trying to open this door for years." Mr. Bunny frowned.

"The key is missing," Danna pointed out, her dead fish eyes scanning the area. "We need to find it."

Nero approached the room and used all his Nephilim powers to push the door, but it didn't work. No matter how hard he punched or used his crimson fire, he couldn't even make a scratch.

"This is strange..." Nero pouted. "It's like my powers don't work in this world."

"That's because we're in a dream." The loli nodded, serious. "Dreams aren't like the real world. They have their own rules. The Putito Virus must be using Nikla's power to keep us out."

"Explain yourself, you weirdo!" Rea frowned.

"We are but mere travelers in this world. Nikla's the master, and the Putito Virus is the virus that's corrupting her data," Danna said. "This world has been corrupted, and we are trapped inside."

"Are you saying that if we don't defeat the virus, we won't be able to return to our world?" Rea asked.

Danna nodded. "Yes. If we don't defeat the virus today, we will be trapped here for all eternity."

"AAAAAH! I DON'T WANT TO BE STUCK HERE FOREVER!" Rea yelled.

Right when things couldn't get any worse, Kristen fell from the sky and landed on the floor. The ginger groaned and farted, looking at his friends with bloodshot eyes.

"Niku! I'm here!" Kristen shouted, his voice hoarse. He was covered in bee stings and dirt.

"IT'S THE STUPID RETARD!” Rea shouted. “WHAT IS HE DOING HERE!"

Danna Ai approached the boy. "Slug. You've come at last. I thought you had abandoned us due to your selfishness, but I'm glad you decided to help us."

"You pushed me out of the window, but I survived!" Kristen said, flexing his scrawny arms.

"Fucking idiot! NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR FUCKING EXISTENCE!" Rea began to kick Kristen in the balls. She was extremely stressed and didn't want to be trapped in Nikla's world forever. She was afraid of never seeing her family or Ai-chan again.

When Nero stopped her, Kristen was covered in bruises and blood. "Rea. We need to work together if we want to defeat the Putito Virus," he said.

Rea pouted, her arms crossed. "Fine. But I won't hesitate to kill him if he pisses me off."

Suddenly, Mr. Bunny got erect, hitting a nearby table and flipping it over. Everyone gasped and looked at his member, which was now standing proudly.

"Mr. Bunny, what the fuck!?" Kana pointed at his erection.

"I'm sorry," the rabbit said, rubbing the back of his head. "It's midnight. That means that it's time to go to the graveyard and visit Nikla's father."

Mr. Bunny put on a long trench coat, not covering his erection, and led the group outside. They followed him, passing by the mutilated dead people and the skeletons that played guitar.

"Why are we going to the cemetery now?!" asked Kana, getting frustrated. She was worried about Nikla and didn't want to waste time. She wanted to save her friend.

Mr. Bunny smiled. "There's a chance we find the answer to our problem there."

Danna Ai walked next to Mr. Bunny, jumping up and down, her loli body bouncing with every step. She was having the time of her life inside Nikla's mind and was excited to see what kind of monsters they would encounter.

Nero was just as excited, his eyes gleaming with curiosity. He wished Nikla weren't dead and could see this new, wonderful world with her own eyes.

Kana, however, was anxious and nervous. She was worried about Nikla and felt guilty for not doing more to protect her from the virus. The rest shared a similar feeling of dread.

However, no one was prepared for what was coming. The horrors of Nikla's mind were just beginning.
