Shang Xianwang: “Just stored some important company documents.”
Upon hearing it was company documents, Shang Xueyan immediately lost interest. He pulled his suitcase along and returned to his room.
Shang Xianwang glanced at the tightly sealed aluminum-alloy door, then stepped into Shang Xueyan’s room.
Shang Xianwang didn’t go to work for the next two days. Besides learning about Shang Xueyan’s life over the past few months, he also accompanied Shang Xueyan to buy some clothes and daily necessities, and gave him a black card no spending limit, free to use as he pleased.

That evening, Shang Xueyan took 360-degree photos of the black card and sent them to Shen Mengkun.
Shen Mengkun: [Black card!!]
Shen Mengkun: [Where did you steal that internet picture from?]
Shang Xueyan curled his lips slightly: [Not an internet picture]
Shang Xueyan: [My big brother gave it to me]
Shang Xueyan: [No limit, spend freely]
After a long pause, Shen Mengkun finally sent a few lines: [!!]
Shen Mengkun: [If I hadn’t gone and checked my bank balance again, I’d have thought that million was just a daydream]
Shen Mengkun: [A thousand words in one sentence brother, when you’re rich, don’t forget us!!]
Shang Xueyan, beaming with pride, sent him a red envelope with a hefty amount.
The next day, Shang Xianwang was heading to the office. After confirming Shang Xueyan had no plans for the day, Shang Xianwang said, “I’ll arrange a driver for you in a bit.”
Breakfast that morning was made by the auntie who had started work that day. The shrimp dumplings were sweet and delicious. Shang Xueyan looked up: “What’s the driver for?”
Shang Xianwang: “To teach you how to drive. Don’t you like cars?”
Shang Xueyan did indeed love cars just as he had loved horse riding a thousand years ago. He hadn’t mentioned it to his big brother yet, but he wasn’t surprised his brother had figured it out. Shang Xueyan blinked. “Can I drive any car in your garage?”
“What do you think?”
“Thanks, big brother!”
The original owner had a driver’s license, so Shang Xueyan didn’t need to get one again he just needed to master his driving skills. The instructor his brother arranged was meticulous and experienced, except he was a bit older a few years older than Shang Xueyan’s own father. Apart from driving techniques, the two had little else to talk about.
In the afternoon, under the driver’s watchful eye, Shang Xueyan slowly drove the Cayenne from the outskirts all the way to the Fengyuan Group building. After the driver clocked off, Shang Xueyan sat in the car waiting for Shang Xianwang to finish work.
He checked the time again, still quite early before work ended. Worried about traffic and his own lack of skill, he had started driving toward the company very early today.
Shang Xueyan sat in the Cayenne’s driver’s seat, staring at the two cold, towering Fengyuan buildings not far away. Then he got out of the car.
Walking into the first-floor lobby of Fengyuan Group’s headquarters, he asked the front desk. Sure enough, just like in the TV dramas without an appointment, he couldn’t go upstairs. Shang Xueyan sat down on the sofa in the lobby, planning to wait for Shang Xianwang there.
But no sooner had he sat down than a somewhat surprised voice rang out not far away. “Shang Rong.”
A young woman in a white professional suit, holding a file folder, walked over from nearby. Her brows were furrowed, her face full of mockery. “What are you doing here? Don’t tell me you’re also here for an interview at Fengyuan?”
Shang Xueyan thought hard and finally fished out who the girl was from the original owner’s memories. She was a fan of Jiang Lan, which meant she was his anti-fan she had even thrown ice cream at him offline. He gave a contemptuous sneer. “You don’t even seem to have graduated from high school. You wouldn’t even qualify to apply as a cleaner at Fengyuan. I heard you’ve been delivering food lately? So, are you here to deliver food?”
“Once you’re done delivering, why don’t you scram? This kind of place is it somewhere a lowlife like you should be hanging around?” After the girl finished her insults, she caught sight of a refined man in a suit approaching from a distance, seemingly looking in their direction. Her face lit up with delight. “President Wang.”
Wang Song didn’t acknowledge her. He walked straight over to Shang Xueyan and said respectfully, “Mr. Shang, what are you doing here?”
Shang Xueyan had met Wang Song on the day he reunited with his big brother, and just yesterday, Wang Song had come to the villa to deliver documents to his brother. Shang Xueyan said, “I’m here to wait for my big brother.”
“He should be in a meeting.” Wang Song raised his wrist and glanced at the time on his watch. “Let me take you upstairs.”
“Sure, thanks, Brother Song.” Shang Xueyan gave his shoulder a pat.
The two walked side by side toward the elevator entrance, and the girl stood frozen in place. She was an applicant here today for the final round of interviews at Fengyuan Group. Because Wang Song had been part of her final interview, she remembered him. Word had it that this President Wang was Assistant to President Shang, with a very high administrative rank. Today, he had been stern and businesslike with their group of interviewees, keeping everything strictly professional.
Why would he be so deferential to Shang Xueyan, a nobody in the entertainment industry who couldn’t even make it?
At that thought, panic surged in the girl’s heart. Fengyuan wasn’t just a big company its benefits and treatment were also extremely generous. What exactly was Shang Xueyan’s relationship with him? The girl wanted to chase after them, but Wang Song had already swiped Shang Xueyan through the gate using his access. She didn’t have clearance, so all she could do was fret helplessly from outside.
Shang Xueyan turned back and swept a glance at the flustered girl, then turned around and said to Wang Song, “Brother Song, is that girl someone here for an interview today?”
“Yes, the President’s Office is hiring two administrative assistants.” So that was why he had participated in the final interviews today. “Do you know that girl just now?”
“I do. Since I’m in the entertainment industry, right? She’s my anti-fan. She threw ice cream at me before.”
Wang Song paused for a moment, swiped his card to enter the elevator, and met Shang Xueyan’s smiling face. He nodded and said, “I understand.”
Shang Xianwang’s office was on the thirty-first floor. The executive elevator had little foot traffic. A dozen or so seconds later, the elevator doors opened, and Wang Song opened the door to Shang Xianwang’s office. “Mr. Shang, this is President Shang’s office. You can wait for him here.”
“Alright, thanks. But you don’t need to call me Mr. Shang. I’m probably a few years younger than you, so just call me Xueyan Xue as in snow, Yan as in delay.”
“Very well, Xueyan.”
“If you need anything, you can call me, or you can notify the assistants in the President’s Office.”
Wang Song left the office to handle work, leaving Shang Xueyan alone in his big brother’s office. He walked around the space. His big brother’s office was over a hundred square meters, featuring not only floor-to-ceiling windows but also a lounge and a fitness room. The desk was densely piled with documents, not messy but neat and orderly, with two computers on the surface as well.
Shang Xueyan finished surveying his eldest brother’s office and flopped down into the soft leather sofa in the reception area. He pulled out his phone to play for a while, but within a few minutes he felt drowsy. He set the phone aside, his lashes drooped, and he closed his eyes.
“MN is still dissatisfied with our acquisition offer and wants to raise the purchase price, and now Chunfei has also set its sights on.” Song Du and Shang Xianwang stepped into Shang Xianwang’s office while reporting on work matters. Suddenly, his voice paused, and he turned his head to look at the boy reclining on the sofa.
Before he could get a clear look at what the other person actually looked like, Shang Xianwang took a step forward, completely blocking his line of sight. Shang Xianwang said, “You go out first and send me the documents.”
“Alright.”
Song Du left Shang Xianwang’s office. He was highly capable at work but also quite gossipy. This was the first time he’d seen their President Shang care so much about someone and it was a boy at that. After leaving Shang Xianwang’s office, Song Du wandered over to the adjacent executive office and asked Shen Yurong, his closest colleague there, “Hey, why is there a boy sleeping in President Shang’s office? Who is he?”
Their President Shang had joined Fengyuan five years ago, and within just two years, he had completely eliminated dissenting voices and seized firm control. Over the past three years, he had also led Fengyuan Group to another level. However, his private reputation wasn’t particularly good his methods for purging rivals were too ruthless, and he had even sent his own younger brother to prison, which enraged the old President Shang so much that he vomited blood and collapsed.
He also seriously believed that President Shang was a work machine. Today was the first time he’d seen him care so much about someone and it seemed to be a very handsome young man.
“I don’t know.” Shen Yurong spared a moment to chat with Song Du. “Assistant Wang brought him up. He told us to take good care of him.”
Shang Xianwang stared at Shang Xueyan for a while. Seeing him frown slightly and unconsciously rub his arms, he went to the lounge to get a thin blanket, leaned over, and draped it over him. After a moment, he returned to his desk and opened the pending documents on the OA system.
His movements stopped. He opened the innermost drawer that required a fingerprint lock, took out the polymer clay figurine inside, glanced at it, and then looked at the boy on the sofa breathing evenly. Just as Shang Xianwang was about to put the figurine back in the drawer, a low groan sounded. Shang Xueyan yawned, opened his eyes, and tossed the thin blanket aside. “Big brother, you’re done with your meeting.”
Shang Xianwang swiftly shoved the figurine back into the drawer. “You’re awake?”
“Yeah, how much longer until you’re off work?”
“I can leave now.” Shang Xianwang shut down his computer and walked over to Shang Xueyan.
Shang Xueyan was still a bit drowsy. He wanted to check the time, and a little moisture gathered in his eyes. He reached out to grab his phone lying nearby. His hand closed around the device, but he didn’t hold it steady, and his brand-new latest-model phone dropped to the floor.
Shang Xianwang bent down and picked up the phone for Shang Xueyan.
The moment the phone was in his hand, Shang Xianwang narrowed his eyes slightly, catching sight of a text message with an image that had just come in. His expression turned unpleasant.
“Big brother, what’s wrong?” Shang Xueyan took the phone and looked at the clear, smooth screen. He cursed under his breath and said with disgust, “It must be that idiot Lu Han again. He’s always sending me this disgusting crap in today’s terms, it’s sexual harassment.”
Shang Xueyan deftly blocked the unfamiliar number.
“Does he send you stuff like this often?”
“Every few days or so,” Shang Xueyan said. “That’s why I find gay people disgusting especially the ones around me who like men.”
