The ambiguous atmosphere was broken, but Yu Yixian felt no annoyance in her heart. Thinking back to Ling Yun’s move just now, anyone looking at it would agree that it was filled with an ambiguous air.

It definitely wasn’t a move between friends.

In any case, she would never make a move like that toward Ye Qian and the others.Full novel: My Ex-Girlfriend Has Always Been Secretly in Love with Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Perhaps because she knew that Ling Yun also held some feelings for her, Yu Yixian felt like she was soaking in sugar water, and the smile on her face could not be stopped.

She snuck a glance at Ling Yun, who was eating a candied hawthorn, and then looked away when Ling Yun lifted her eyes to look at her, gazing at the sky, the ground, and the greenery by the road, just not daring to look back.

Ling Yun took in every one of Yu Yixian’s actions, unable to help but slightly purse her lips, lowering her eyes to hide the smile in them.

At this moment, Ling Yun could not make excuses for herself; the surging emotions had begun to overflow the moment Yu Yixian approached her, impossible to suppress.

All Ling Yun could do was hold out for a few more days, keeping the hook set so that Yu Yixian would not give up on her too early.

Ling Yun did not want to be like Yu Yixian’s previous girlfriends, who could only leave behind fleeting memories. She wanted to truly capture Yu Yixian and hold onto her tightly for a lifetime.

While Ling Yun was throwing away trash, Yu Yixian secretly sent a message to the driver telling him to go home first.

When Ling Yun returned, Yu Yixian cleared her throat slightly and put her phone into her coat pocket. “Senior, how are we going to Wanda?”

Ling Yun looked at the time. If it were just her, she might have taken the bus, but there would be a lot of people on the bus at this hour, and she didn’t want Yu Yixian to have to squeeze onto the bus with her.

“Let’s take a taxi.”

When the two arrived at Wanda, it was exactly the dinner rush, and the hot pot restaurant was packed.

Seeing so many people in the restaurant, Yu Yixian hesitated immediately. “Senior, why don’t we eat something else? We’ll have to wait for this.”

Usually, if she were eating by herself, she would wait if she had to, but now she was on a date with her senior, and she didn’t want to waste time on things like this.

Ling Yun shook her head. “It’s fine, there’s no rush.”

Ling Yun went up to the server to get a number tag and turned to hand it to Yu Yixian. “There’s a seat, sit.”

Yu Yixian was pressed into a chair by Ling Yun, blankly clutching the number tag. “What about you?”

Yu Yixian glanced around; all the other seats were filled with people. She had just started to get up when Ling Yun pressed her back down.

“Sit tight.”

Yu Yixian looked up and met Ling Yun’s eyes, instantly drowning in her deep gaze.

She replied in a small voice: “Got it.”

Whether it was because the mall was too hot or something else was playing tricks, Yu Yixian could feel her ears burning. She hurriedly brushed her stray hair to the side of her ears to cover the heat.

Ling Yun’s eyes remained on Yu Yixian, naturally noticing her red ears.

Ling Yun didn’t expose her, told Yu Yixian to wait for her for a moment, and turned to walk in another direction.

Yu Yixian looked suspiciously in the direction Ling Yun left, thinking she had gone to the restroom, and didn’t think much of it.

She reached out and rubbed her ears, muttering to herself: “Why is my self-control so poor?”

Thinking back to Ling Yun’s movements and gaze just now, Yu Yixian couldn’t help but rub her ears again.

She didn’t know how long it had been when Yu Yixian suddenly felt a coolness on the back of her hand. She raised her eyelids and discovered it was actually Ling Yun who had returned, holding two cups of iced milk tea.

The chill on the back of her hand just now came from the milk tea.

“Soy milk jade unicorn, you said you wanted to drink this a couple of days ago.”

Coincidentally, the server called out the number of the person next to them, so Ling Yun took the opportunity to sit beside Yu Yixian. Someone squeezed past Ling Yun, and seeing this, Yu Yixian quickly pulled on Ling Yun’s chair to bring her closer.

Yu Yixian happily took the milk tea, her voice soft. “Thank you, Senior.”

Yu Yixian’s heart was incredibly sweet. She lowered her head to insert the straw and puffed up her cheeks as she sipped the tea.

“!”

Yu Yixian looked at the label in surprise.

[Full sugar, less ice, extra cheese foam]

It was exactly the same as what she usually bought.

“Senior, you are too amazing! How did you guess my usual habit!” Yu Yixian was overjoyed; how could this not be considered a sort of fate?

Ling Yun didn’t explain, only whispering for her to drink a little less so she wouldn’t be unable to eat the hot pot later.

With Ling Yun by her side, the wait time felt like it passed very quickly. Before long, she heard the server call their number, and the two followed the server into the shop.

The shop was full of people and the thick smell of hot pot, which made Yu Yixian swallow her saliva greedily. As soon as she sat down, she wanted to order.

“Senior, Senior, come over and look at the menu.” Yu Yixian patted the seat beside her, wanting Ling Yun to come over and order food together.

Ling Yun paused in the middle of bending down to sit, stood up quite naturally, and sat right next to Yu Yixian.

“Senior, do you eat spicy food? Hmm… let’s order a mandarin duck pot! I want to eat the tomato pot, and… beef rolls, oh, this lettuce stem, Senior, Senior, this is super delicious, and this bean curd skin, wood ear mushrooms too, I love fish tofu bags too…”

Yu Yixian muttered to herself while ordering, looking up at Ling Yun from time to time to see if she would eat it.

She ordered a pile of food, more than half of which Yu Yixian wanted for herself. Ling Yun only said “Mmh” occasionally. By the end, Yu Yixian looked up with some embarrassment. “Sorry, Senior, I’m a bit hungry. You see what else you want to eat.”

Yu Yixian pushed the menu to Ling Yun, and her body tilted, causing the two of them to press tightly together quite naturally.

Yu Yixian’s attention was all on the menu and she didn’t notice, but Ling Yun noticed and didn’t speak. She lowered her eyelids, the half of her body that was being pressed against feeling slightly stiff.

She wanted to go further, but under her own control, she stayed put.

Her other hand rested on the menu, and she swiped it twice, saying in a hoarse voice, “It’s fine.”

Yu Yixian checked two more items and waved to the server who was busy rushing about. “Excuse me.”

After ordering, Yu Yixian realized just how close she and Ling Yun were at this moment.

Her heart jumped, and a blush crept onto her cheeks before she realized it. For a moment, she didn’t know whether to move or stay still.

Reasonably speaking, she shouldn’t be so flustered, but for some reason, whenever anything involved Ling Yun, she always became inexperienced.

At this moment, Ling Yun suddenly stood up, the tone of her voice inexplicably a bit faster. “I’m going to prepare the dipping sauce. Do you have any dietary restrictions?”

“No, just help me put in extra sugar and sesame sauce.” Yu Yixian sat back, not daring to meet Ling Yun’s eyes.

“Okay, watch my phone for me.” Ling Yun very naturally placed her phone in front of Yu Yixian.

Yu Yixian stared at Ling Yun’s phone and couldn’t help but mutter: “Does she trust me this much?”

Just then, the server brought the mandarin duck pot over and asked Yu Yixian to lean back so it wouldn’t splash on her clothes.

Yu Yixian immediately picked up Ling Yun’s phone and sat back further.

The server moved quickly, put down the pot, and warned her to be careful of the heat before leaving. Yu Yixian nodded subconsciously, preparing to put Ling Yun’s phone back on the table, but her finger habitually pressed the screen. She then realized it wasn’t her own phone.

The phone screen lit up, and Yu Yixian glanced at it subconsciously, discovering it was a landscape photo. It looked very much like her own, a bit blurry.

Yu Yixian hurriedly put the phone down, but her heart couldn’t help but recall the screensaver she had just seen on Ling Yun’s phone.

Why did it seem a bit familiar?

Before Yu Yixian could figure it out, a girl suddenly sat down in the chair in front of them.

“Is this place taken… Who are you?”

“What? Don’t recognize me?” The girl opposite rested her chin on her hands, squinting as she sized Yu Yixian up. “Eating with a girlfriend?”

“Are you Su Tao?” Yu Yixian vaguely recalled the girl’s name.

“Remembered, huh? Hey, let me ask you, are you single now, or are you here with a new girlfriend?” The word “new” in Su Tao’s mouth was emphasized heavily.

Yu Yixian’s expression was indifferent. “Does it have anything to do with you? Also, you should leave.”

The expression on Su Tao’s face couldn’t hold up. “Yu Yixian! Are you really that heartless?”

“Do you want me to help you recall what you did before we broke up?” Yu Yixian crossed her arms and spoke calmly.

Su Tao paused, a look of guilt appearing on her face, and she said stubbornly: “Is such a small matter worth it? You’re fine now, aren’t you!”

Yu Yixian raised an eyebrow. “Then you should be even more glad that I didn’t end up with anything wrong. Alright, you should leave; I don’t want to say it a third time.”

“An acquaintance?” Ling Yun’s cold, clear voice suddenly appeared behind Yu Yixian.

Yu Yixian was startled. For some reason, she felt a bit guilty, as if she were doing something bad behind her girlfriend’s back.

Seeing Ling Yun’s appearance, a flash of unwillingness crossed Su Tao’s eyes. Unable to bear Yu Yixian’s warning, she shot a provocative smile at Ling Yun: “Hi, I’m Yixian’s ex-girlfriend, nice to meet you.”

Ling Yun said “Mmh” without expression, put the bowl of dipping sauce in front of Yu Yixian, and sat right next to her.

“Anything else? We’re going to eat. Come over, put on your apron.” Ling Yun didn’t even look at Su Tao, turned her head to look at Yu Yixian, shook out the disposable apron in her hand, and gestured for Yu Yixian to turn around.

Yu Yixian was in a stage of guilt now and did whatever Ling Yun told her to do, honestly turning around, feeling her fingers graze across her waist, triggering a shiver.

“It’s tied. You haven’t left yet?” Ling Yun tapped Yu Yixian’s waist lightly. As she turned, she saw Su Tao still sitting in her seat, her tone sounding puzzled.

Su Tao’s face stiffened. She looked at Yu Yixian, hoping she would say something, ideally something that would let her stay.

She used to like her so much; how could she have no feelings left? She didn’t believe it.

Yu Yixian looked baffled, especially since Ling Yun was watching her silently at this time, seemingly waiting for her to say something too.

“We’re going to eat, you can leave now.” Yu Yixian immediately clarified her position.

Su Tao was unwilling and wanted to try again. Just as she was about to speak, she met Ling Yun’s cold, indifferent gaze, and the words she wanted to say were forgotten in an instant.

Su Tao didn’t know how she left. By the time she came to her senses, she was already sitting back in her own seat. Her friends were looking at her suspiciously, curiously asking who those two girls at that table were, and if they were single.

“No, I don’t know them. I recognized the wrong person, I recognized the wrong person.”

That woman’s eyes were bottomless. Her sixth sense was screaming a warning: that woman was dangerous, very dangerous!

Yu Yixian didn’t know where she had provoked such a dangerous woman. Hmph, she deserved it! Back then, she had just accidentally let her precious little snake bite her; her precious little snake wasn’t even poisonous. Breaking up with her was one thing, but she even let her mother know, and she had received a hard slap. It was just too hateful!

Just let that woman pester her, then!

Yu Yixian looked cautiously at Ling Yun. Seeing her expression was natural, she didn’t know for a moment whether she should explain.

After thinking about it, she decided to be honest.

Yu Yixian fished a chopstick of meat out of the hot pot and put it all on the plate in front of Ling Yun, trying to please her like a little squirrel hiding her treasures, whispering an explanation to herself: “I didn’t know I would meet her, and I forgot about her a long time ago. I don’t even have her contact information anymore, really!”
