Ren thought so, at least.

He had poured his entire skill into that introduction, using the most sincere smile of his life.

Hopefully, they would come to like his method of learning.

As for anyone who did not like it?

Ren was not a violent person.

But for the sake of learning, anything could be set aside.

With that thought, a strange smile crept onto Ren’s face as he stepped down from the front of the room.

“Mikage, please wait.”

The rigid young man adjusted his glasses and reached out, trying to ignore the strange unease in his chest as he blocked Ren’s path.

“Hmm?

What is it?”

Ren frowned when he saw who had stopped him.

If he had to rank the people in this classroom he least wanted to deal with, this guy would absolutely be first.

Tenya Iida, Class 1-A’s future class representative.

His Quirk was Engine.

He emphasized discipline so strongly that he could be painfully stiff.

His older brother was the famous Pro Hero Ingenium.

“I am Tenya Iida,” Iida said seriously.

“I admire your love of learning.

However, as a member of U.A.

High School, why are you wearing a black coat instead of the proper uniform?”

There it was.

This was exactly why Ren did not get along with people like him.

Ren fought the urge to rub his temples.

The other students watched with obvious interest.

A stranger had appeared and claimed to be their classmate.

Of course teenagers would feel at least a little unconvinced.

Bakugo, already back at his seat, looked delighted.

Serves you right for trying to stand out.

Even he had not dared show up dressed that boldly. Get faster updates on g.com.

Midoriya, on the other hand, looked worried.

“I really do not mesh with your type,” Ren said.

Under Iida’s serious stare, Ren pulled a folded paper from inside his coat and handed it over.

“Read it yourself.

I have special approval, so do not look for trouble over this.”

“Pr-Principal Nezu?”

Iida stared at the paper in shock.

Who exactly was this Ren Mikage?

“Finished?

Give it back.”

Ren took the special approval slip from Iida’s stiff hands and muttered, “Good thing I prepared early.

Otherwise you really would have stopped me.”

Even though U.A.

encouraged freedom, clothing was still fairly traditional, especially for first-year students.

To avoid hardheaded people like Iida, Ren had brought some excellent tea from home and traded it to Nezu for this written approval.

Of course, for anyone who preferred fists and force, that paper was probably worth nothing.

But Ren would welcome that kind of trouble.

After all, U.A.

did not forbid Quirk use on campus.

For him, that made it paradise.

“Iida, what does the paper say?” Eijiro Kirishima, too impatient to stay quiet, called out after Ren casually chose a seat.

“Tell us!”

The others nodded along.

They were dying of curiosity.

What was written on that slip that could make someone as rigid as Iida react like this?

Iida finally snapped out of it.

He looked at Ren, who had closed his eyes to rest, then spoke in a complicated tone.

“It is a personal special-approval document from Principal Nezu.

It permits Mikage to dress freely on campus.”

“Seriously?

“No fair!

I want one too.

I want to wear a cute skirt!”

Mina Ashido, with her pink skin and small horns, shouted her complaint.

“Reject special treatment!

Start with me!” Minoru Mineta jumped onto his chair and yelled, his grape-like hair bouncing.

“Everyone, quiet down.

Please sit properly and wait for the teacher to arrive.”

Iida immediately tried to bring the chaos under control.

The class saw him step in and obediently fell silent.

There was no helping it.

If they ignored him, he looked like the type to pull them aside one by one and lecture them about life choices.

“Tch.

Who knows if that thing is even real?”

In the suddenly quiet classroom, Bakugo spoke with clear irritation and glared at Ren behind him.

Ren only raised a brow.

He did not answer.

His gaze had shifted to the strange yellow, tube-shaped sleeping bag that had appeared on the floor near the front of the room at some point.

Before the atmosphere could turn noisy again, a tired, lazy, impatient male voice came from inside it.

“I can verify it.

What he said is true.”

“Who the hell are you supposed to be?” Bakugo snapped at once, annoyed that someone had ruined his chance to make things difficult for Ren.

“Why do you get to verify anything?”

“Because…”

The voice was flat.

“I am your homeroom teacher.”

The classroom fell silent.
