The impatient voice came from the long yellow sleeping bag at the front of the classroom, accompanied by a few muffled sounds.

Everyone’s attention shifted from Ren to the front.

“No way.

Heteromorphic teachers are fine and all, but our homeroom teacher is a baguette?”

Who was brave enough to say that out loud?

Ren turned and immediately understood.

The true warrior was Denki Kaminari, whose Quirk was Electrification and who, if he overused it, could turn himself into an idiot.

Ren remembered him very clearly.

Aside from Kaminari, everyone else understood that the thing was only a sleeping bag.

Although, honestly, their homeroom teacher’s entrance begged for commentary.

A zipper rasped open.

Everyone stared with wide eyes.

Even Ren, who already knew the plot, was no exception.

Animation and reality were very different things.

A weary adult face emerged from the sleeping bag.

Stubble.

Long, messy hair.

Bloodshot, lifeless eyes.

A white capture weapon wrapped several times around his neck.

The image of an exhausted middle-aged man could not have been clearer.

‘Confirmed.

No defense possible.’

Ren silently made the call.

“Good.

Quiet at last.”

After crawling out of the warm sleeping bag, the tired man swept his dull gaze over the class.

“I suppose I should introduce myself.

I am Shota Aizawa, Class 1-A’s homeroom teacher.”

Shota Aizawa was even a little taller than Ren, who had already reached about five foot eleven.

His Quirk was Erasure.

By looking directly at a target, he could temporarily cancel that person’s Quirk.

The effect ended when he looked away, and the side effect was dry eye.

Put these on and get to the field.”

Without waiting for the class to recover from the discovery that their teacher was a sleep-deprived adult in a bag, Aizawa tossed out a large bundle of gym uniforms.

Then he glanced at Ren, who had already stood as if ready to leave.

“Mikage, if you do not think your coat will get in the way, you can skip changing.”

With that, he walked out, leaving the rest of the class staring after him in envy and frustration.

The U.A.

athletic field.

Once everyone changed, Class 1-A gathered outside.

In a sea of matching gym uniforms, Ren’s black coat stood out sharply.

“Hmm…”

Aizawa began in that familiar lifeless tone.

“We will now conduct a Quirk Apprehension Test.”

“A Quirk Apprehension Test?”

The students stared, confused.

Why was this so different from what they had imagined?

Where was the passionate entrance ceremony?

Ren, standing among them, grimaced.

He really did not want to take part in this boring test.

“Wait.”

Something occurred to Ren.

His pale eyes brightened, and a sly smile followed.

‘This might be a good chance.’

“What about the entrance ceremony?

The campus orientation?”

Ochaco Uraraka boldly voiced the question in everyone’s mind, except for Ren, who already knew how this would go.

“If you want to become a self-sufficient hero, you do not have time for leisurely events like that,” Aizawa said with his back to them.

His voice carried a little more strength this time.

“U.A.’s selling point is its freedom.

Take Mikage, for example.”

Several students looked tempted.

Aizawa shut that down with one glance.

“I advise you not to imitate him.

Mikage can do it because he has the qualifications and the strength.

You do not.” This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.

“Qualifications?

Strength?

That attention-seeking guy?”

In the crowd, a boy with half-white, half-red hair and a burn scar around his left eye turned to look at Ren, fighting spirit filling his gaze.

“Well, well,” Ren murmured, noticing Todoroki and several other stares.

He shrugged helplessly.

“Looks like our homeroom teacher is not happy with me.

He is already making trouble.”

Ren was looking forward to the Quirk of the boy he remembered as Todoroki.

But only the full version.

“Of course, that freedom also applies to teachers.” Aizawa withdrew his gaze from Ren and looked at the class.

“You did physical fitness tests in middle school, right?”

He raised his phone.

“Without using Quirks.”

“But data measured by ordinary human standards is irrational for future heroes.

So now I need to see the limits you can reach while using your Quirks.”

Aizawa turned toward Bakugo, whose expression was already sour.

“You were first in the practical exam, right?

Katsuki Bakugo.

You go first.”

“Why am I first?” Bakugo clicked his tongue and looked toward Ren with open hostility.

“Shouldn’t the qualified, strong guy you mentioned go first?”

Ren blinked.

What now?

How had he become the center of attention again?

“He is a special admission student,” Aizawa said, sounding annoyed.

“I am not interested in calling each of your names one by one.

Too much trouble.

Just test in order.”

That shut Bakugo up before he could say anything else.
