“Are you a DINK?”

“Do you have oligospermia?”

Across from Cen Zhen sat a man in a sharply tailored black suit, posture upright, with deep-set features, sharp brow bones, slightly sunken eye sockets, and dark irises. His gaze was calm and profound.

This was her blind date—

Fu Linyuan.

A week ago, the two had crossed paths in this very café.

That day, she was here for a blind date.

And he was here getting dumped.

To this day, she still remembered the distraught accusations of his beautiful ex-fiancée—

“Fu Linyuan, what else can you do besides throwing money at me and placating me with expensive things? What I want is companionship, sincerity, not your cold, hard cash! Oh, and you can’t even have children. Since you can’t give me a child, let’s end it here!”

Hearing this, Cen Zhen’s eyes lit up.

Wow!

A man with looks, a great body, infertility, and generous with money.

Could there be such a good deal in this world?

Not taking advantage of an opportunity like this would be foolish.

So, she went to great lengths, spending a week, finally arranging this blind date between them.

A lazy smile curled at the corner of her lips. “That’s right, I’m a DINK.”

Fu Linyuan looked at the woman across from him—clean features, delicate nose, and skin so fair it seemed translucent—and slightly furrowed his brows.

“You don’t mind that I can’t have children?”

“Mr. Fu, I told you, I’m a DINK. I have no plans to have children in this lifetime.”

Afraid he wouldn’t believe her, she raised an eyebrow lightly. “If you don’t believe me, we can add a clause in the prenuptial agreement stating that if I get pregnant, we’ll divorce immediately.”

Since she could appear on his blind date list, it meant his assistant had already done the background check.

Fu Linyuan’s expression returned to calm.

“Miss Cen, my situation, as you likely know, is that I have severe oligospermia, almost completely losing fertility. I’m also very busy with work, so apart from money, I can’t offer you much companionship.”

Cen Zhen certainly knew.

She tilted her head lazily, resting half her face in one hand, her gaze on him tinged with teasing.

“Then… does this condition affect married life?”

As she spoke, Cen Zhen clearly saw the man’s expression crack almost imperceptibly for a moment.

His look toward her was clearly startled, as if he hadn’t expected her to ask such a question.

Cen Zhen, however, remained completely unfazed.

Her tone was light and cheerful. “Mr. Fu, although I’m a DINK, I’m still a woman with sexual needs.”

The man’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and a faint trace of discomfort flickered across his deep, sharp features.

A few seconds later, his jaw tightened as he pushed a “Personal Health Examination Report” toward her.

Their eyes met, his gaze harboring a deep, obscure darkness.

“It doesn’t affect it.”

Hearing that it didn’t affect it, Cen Zhen breathed a slight sigh of relief.

“That’s good.”

She was just an ordinary person—greedy for money and fond of good looks.

And he met all her criteria for a partner.

Well, perfect.

They could head to the civil affairs bureau to get their marriage certificate today.

While flipping through his health report, she casually pushed her own copy over to him as well.

“My name is Cen Zhen, I’m 26 years old, and I’m currently working as a clerk at a jewelry company. At home, only my grandmother and I rely on each other. Mr. Fu, I hope that after we get married, we can live together and have a healthy and harmonious marital life. Additionally, I hope you can cooperate with me in acting like a loving couple in front of my grandmother, so she doesn’t have to worry.”

Upon hearing this, Fu Linyuan glanced at her a few more times, a faint flicker of emotion passing through his dark eyes.

“You only have your grandmother as family?”

The investigation results showed she still had parents and a younger sister at home.

Cen Zhen didn’t even look up.

Her laughter carried a heavy tone of sarcasm. “Not all blood relations can be called family.”

Because she had already understood his requirements for the blind date beforehand,

she soon looked up with a cheerful smile and assured him.

“Mr. Fu, I will act as a good wife in front of your family according to your wishes. Similarly, I hope you will respect my grandmother. As for my other so-called family members, you don’t need to pay them any mind.”

As she said these words, she spoke casually, as if those three other family members were not relatives at all.

Fu Linyuan studied her intently for a moment before finally nodding.

“Alright.”

At that moment, Cen Zhen had also finished reading his medical report.

The next second, she pulled an ID card from her bag. “Since there are no issues, let’s go get our marriage certificate now.”

The man holding the corner of the medical report was slightly surprised.

“Now?”

Cen Zhen checked the time. “The civil affairs bureau will close in half an hour. If we leave from here, we should still make it.”

She was determined to get the marriage certificate.

Half an hour later,

Fu Linyuan held a red booklet as he followed the woman out of the civil affairs bureau.

With the certificate in hand, they were now legally married.

Seeing his luxurious car parked at the bottom of the steps, Cen Zhen didn’t stand on ceremony. “Do you have time later?”

“Hmm.”

“Then help me move.”

“Hmm?”

Cen Zhen tilted her head, backlit, her lips curved in a smile, her eyes clear and bright. “We’re married now. Living together is both reasonable and legal.”

Twenty minutes later,

Fu Linyuan drove to a dilapidated old residential area.

After he parked the car and followed Cen Zhen into the narrow stairwell, the woman glanced at him with an apologetic smile. “There’s no elevator here. I live on the sixth floor. Sorry to trouble you with the climb.”

Fu Linyuan nodded. “It’s fine.”

But his “it’s fine” turned into “it’s not fine” two minutes later.

Cen Zhen opened the door to her home and gestured with a sweeping motion toward the wall opposite the living room, her lips curving into a smile.

“See, all these boxes—I need to move them all out tonight.”

“All these?”

Fu Linyuan quickly scanned the room; there were at least twenty boxes.

Each box was nearly half a person’s height.

Cen Zhen nodded. “Yes, these things are very important to me. They must be moved out tonight.”

She had stood up the two blind dates arranged for her at noon today. Based on her understanding of them—

tonight, they would definitely come knocking.

By then, her treasures might very well turn to ashes.

Unwilling to waste any time, she set down her bag and headed toward the nearest box.

“Let’s get started.”

Fu Linyuan followed behind her.

One of the boxes hadn’t been sealed yet.

Taking advantage of his height, he saw that inside were stacks upon stacks of books and papers.

On top was an unfinished diamond ring design draft, with rough lines and only a few layers of color roughly filled in.

While lost in thought, Cen Zhen had already bent down, knees flexed, and steadily lifted the cardboard box from the ground with both hands.

The box was somewhat heavy, so she didn’t dare delay for too long.

She hastily called out.

“I’ll head down first. Hurry up.”

Hearing her voice, Fu Linyuan looked over.

Her figure was small and seemed quite frail.

She didn’t look like someone who could lift such a heavy box.

Immediately, he strode forward, reaching out to take the box from her arms, but she dodged him.

“No need to fight me for it. You’ll have plenty more to carry later.”

“…”

After saying this, Cen Zhen immediately turned and headed downstairs.

Fu Linyuan looked up, watching her back. Though slender as a willow, she carried the heavy cardboard box without a single falter in her step, exuding a resilient, unyielding spirit.

It looked both stubborn and heartbreaking.

Shifting his gaze back, Fu Linyuan glanced at the cardboard boxes in front of him. After pursing his lips in thought for a moment, he sent a text message to his assistant.

Tucking his phone back into his pocket, he bent down and lifted the nearest box.

As he straightened up, the weight caused his arm to pause for a second.

Just as he was about to turn and leave, something drifting down from upstairs caught the corner of his eye.

It landed squarely on a potted plant on the balcony.

Fu Linyuan halted his steps, instinctively looking up to see what it was.

But before he could make it out clearly, a rough and flippant male voice suddenly erupted from the stairwell—

“Cen Zhen, dear, sorry about this, but my underwear accidentally fell onto your balcony again. Could you help…”
