Chapter 12

My Messy Life with Stepmom and Stepsister

It took around thirty minutes to get to the university by bus, and when they arrived, it was already packed with students coming to and fro.

Chloe and Sam walked side by side on the campus ground, heading towards the business building where their classes were.

"Sam, you're so quiet. Are you still mad about this morning?" Chloe nudged Sam with her elbow and grinned mischievously.

Sam sighed, not in the mood for her teasing. "No, I'm not mad. It's just... don't do it again, okay? It's weird, and I'm not comfortable with it."

"Hmm... I guess I did overdo it this morning, but it was fun messing with you." Chloe stuck out her tongue. "Anyway, as I said, I'll help you find a girlfriend. Trust me, you'll be thanking me later."

"For god's sake, I don't need your help. I can look for a girlfriend on my own."

"Yeah, yeah, I know, but the one I'll introduce you to won't be an ordinary girl. She's a real beauty with an amazing rack. Not only that, her ass is perfect, too. Just think about how good she'll ride your big dick—"

"Stop! Stop talking right now!" Sam cut her off by covering her mouth, looking around to make sure no one heard their conversation. Luckily, the other students were too busy to pay attention to them. "You can't just talk about those things out loud, damn it! People might misunderstand!"

"Oh, come on... No one would think anything if they heard us." Chloe pulled Sam's hand away and rolled her eyes. "Anyway, I'll talk to her today and arrange for you two to meet at the café near campus. Make sure you don't ditch, okay? I'm serious about hooking you up."

Seeing Chloe's determined expression, Sam didn't argue anymore. It was pointless to try to change her mind when she was already set on it.

Moreover, if Chloe was telling the truth and the girl was that hot, Sam didn't see any harm in trying to talk to her. It wouldn't be so bad if he found someone who could distract him from Alia and Chloe.

Though there was something that still needed to be confirmed. So, looking at Chloe, Sam asked, "Are you sure she won't make a big deal when I meet her? You said she's beautiful and sexy and all that. I don't want to end up being rejected harshly. You know I have zero experience with women, and my confidence isn't that great either."

"Pft! Why are you worrying about that? Just be yourself, and she'll like you. She's not a picky bitch or something." Chloe waved her hand dismissively. "I'll make sure she won't be rude to you."

"If you say so."

"Yeah, don't worry so much. Just think about getting a girlfriend and all those wild things you'll be doing together." Chloe winked at Sam and chuckled.

Just then, a tall man with black hair approached them, smiling at Chloe. "Chloe, Sam, good morning."

Sam's expression immediately changed, and he nodded at the man, who was Chloe's boyfriend, Jake. "Morning, Jake."

Unlike Sam, who had a permanent frown on his face, Jake looked like the typical nice guy next door. He had a charming smile and kind eyes that made him popular among girls. He was also part of the football team, making him even more attractive. But Sam didn't feel jealous of him, only slightly uncomfortable.

Because Sam didn't like him dating Chloe, not that Jake had done anything wrong. He was just the protective type, even though Chloe wasn't his real sister. He was more like an older brother to her.

"Hey, baby." Chloe wrapped her arms around Jake's neck and pulled him down for a kiss on the lips. "How was your morning?"

Jake returned the kiss and smiled at her. "Good, I had a morning jog with my friends. You look pretty today, as always."

"Aww, you're sweet," Chloe giggled, leaning against Jake. Then she looked at Sam and noticed his uncomfortable expression. "Okay then, I'll go now with Jake. Sam, remember what I told you, alright? See you in the lecture later."

Sam only nodded in reply and watched as the couple walked away hand in hand. Seeing them together made his heart ache a little, but he wasn't sure why.

It couldn't be jealousy because he didn't have romantic feelings for Chloe. If anything, he felt something like... longing.

Shaking his head, Sam decided not to dwell on it and went to his class. He still had an assignment to submit later.

The rest of the morning passed uneventfully, and it was already time for lunch. Sam didn't know whether to meet with Chloe's friend or not, but in the end, he chose to go to the café.

If the girl didn't like him, it wouldn't be the end of the world. It's not like he could impress anyone with his personality or looks anyway.

Treating it as a normal meeting with a potential friend, Sam entered the café, searching for the table that Chloe mentioned. It was located at the back of the café, near a window with a view of the garden.

However, when he arrived at the spot, he saw no one sitting there. A bit confused, Sam checked the message on his phone and re-read the details. The time, place, and even the table number were correct, so why was no one there?

"Maybe she hasn't arrived yet?" Sam scratched his head, then sat down to wait.

He didn't know what she looked like, only that she was beautiful, had a great body, and was Chloe's friend. That was all.

Fifteen minutes later, there was still no sign of her. Sam started to feel uneasy. What if Chloe tricked him? What if the girl decided not to show up? That would be embarrassing.

Still, he waited, occasionally checking his phone to see if Chloe had sent a message. But there were none.

Another fifteen minutes passed, and the girl was still a no-show. Sam let out a frustrated sigh and decided to give up.

"That girl probably forgot about our meeting or maybe she just didn't want to meet me. Damn, that's harsh..." Sam mumbled to himself as he grabbed his bag and stood up. "What did I expect? No girl would be interested in me. Chloe probably felt bad that her friend didn't show, so she didn't message me."

Just as Sam was about to leave, a voice came from behind him. "Hmmm... Half hour, huh? To think you're willing to wait for that long. You must be really desperate."
