The massive explosion wiped out all the Fungal Mutants.
The sound of the explosion did not attract any more Fungal Mutants.
As the firelight from the explosion dissipated, Chu He saw a massive ice crystal at the center of the blast.
Scarface and his three companions were frozen inside this ice crystal.
Seeing this, Chu He was somewhat surprised.
He had not expected these four people to still be alive.
He walked over quickly.
But when he saw the four people inside the ice crystal, his expression changed.
Except for Scarface, the other three had large amounts of mycelium appearing on their bodies.
"After being attacked by those Fungal Mutants, do they get infected and turn into this state?" Chu He thought to himself.
At this moment, cracks appeared on the ice crystal.
Chu He immediately stepped back to keep his distance from them.
If the three infected individuals lost consciousness and attacked indiscriminately, it would be dangerous to be too close.
When the ice crystal shattered, the four people inside fell out.
The moment Scarface fell out of the ice crystal, he immediately rolled on the ground to put distance between himself and the other three.
Meanwhile, the mycelium on the other three began to grow rapidly.
In just a short moment, their appearance changed, becoming almost identical to the Fungal Mutants.
"Damn it!" Scarface roared, grabbing a long blade and rushing over to kill the three of them one after another.
After finishing them off, Scarface's expression became very gloomy.
Only then did he notice Chu He nearby, his face showing surprise as he asked, "You're still alive?"
"I'm still alive, does that disappoint you?" Chu He asked back with a smile.
"It seems I underestimated you."
"Now there are only the two of us left."
"We must cooperate to clear the game," Scarface said in a deep voice, glancing at the flames surrounding Chu He's body.
Chu He smiled, "Cooperate?"
"But you are in a terrible state right now."
"If you cooperate with me, won't you be holding me back?"
Upon hearing this, Scarface remained silent for a long time before taking out a thumb-sized firecracker and tossing it to Chu He.
Chu He caught the firecracker and checked its information.
【Item Name: Bomb Firecracker】
【Item Level: E】
【Item Effect: After the Bomb Firecracker is thrown, it creates an explosion within a five-meter radius, dealing fifty points of damage. For every ten enemies within thirty meters of the user, the firecracker's power and explosion radius increase by ten percent, with no stacking limit.】
【Item Notes: With a loud boom, not even a scrap is left!】
"What is the meaning of this?"
Chu He looked at the other man and asked.
"Didn't you say my condition was poor?"
"Using this thing should be enough to let you join forces with me, right?"
"You saw the power of the Bomb Firecracker just now."
"As long as you join forces with me to clear this game, this Bomb Firecracker is just a deposit. After we clear the game, I will give you two more Bomb Firecrackers, how about that?"
Scarface looked at Chu He and said in a deep voice.
His current condition was terrible; if he had to face a large-scale attack from Fungal Mutants, he would be no match for them.
Yet, Chu He had also been a target of the Fungal Mutant attack, but he saw no injuries on Chu He, nor any signs of fatigue.
He believed that Chu He's strength was definitely not weak, at least better than his own.
He had originally intended to show off the strength of his squad in front of Chu He to get him to join their Blood Alliance.
He hadn't expected that just after encountering the enemy, three of his own side would die, leaving only him.
And Chu He, whom he had dismissed as a rookie, had easily dealt with the enemies.
This huge disparity made him feel quite uncomfortable.
Hearing this, Chu He looked at the Bomb Firecracker in his hand, pondered for a moment, and nodded slightly.
"Fine, I agree to your terms."
"But remember your promise. If you try to welch on the deal later, don't blame me for being impolite," Chu He said coldly, staring at Scarface.
Scarface shrugged and smiled, "Don't worry, we can sign a Contract."
As his voice fell, Chu He saw the other man take out a piece of parchment.
The next moment, Chu He saw a notification appear before his eyes.
【Player #8153 of Liang City is using a Contract to form an agreement with you.】
【The contents of the Contract are as follows:】
【You must join forces with Player #8153 of Liang City to clear this game. When the game ends, Player #8153 of Liang City will gift you two Bomb Firecrackers. If Player #8153 of Liang City dies, the Contract ends immediately.】
【Do you wish to sign the Contract?】
"A Contract?" Chu He asked in surprise, looking at the prompt before him.
"As long as the Score of an E-level game reaches C-level or higher, a Contract is guaranteed to appear in the Treasure Chest," Scarface explained.
"So that's how it is," Chu He thought to himself.
"The contents of a Contract must be followed."
"However, the contents of this Contract are entirely in your favor."
"As long as I survive and complete this game, I will gift you two Bomb Firecrackers," Scarface said solemnly.
Chu He said no more and immediately signed the Contract.
With the Contract established, Scarface let out a long sigh of relief and slumped onto the ground.
Seeing Chu He looking at him, Scarface gave a bitter smile, "I was surrounded by Fungal Variants earlier, and my Health Points dropped quite a bit."
"I need to rest and recover my Health Points."
"Fine." Chu He sat down on the side as well.
After all, others were not like him, possessing powerful skills like the Dragon Bloodline.
The vast majority of players could only rely on the self-healing effect inherent to the Stamina attribute to recover Health Points.
Ten points of Stamina could increase health recovery by one point per second.
Although the self-healing effect of Health Points was very low, as long as the environment was safe and there was no time limit on the game, recovering health through time was entirely feasible.
Two minutes later, Scarface, having fully recovered his Health Points, set off with Chu He.
The two walked forward along the street covered in mycelium.
After walking only a few dozen meters, Scarface saw hundreds of huge gray-white fruits growing on the green vines of the surrounding buildings, and his expression turned very ugly.
"Since the two of us are working together, how about we each deal with half of these Fungal Mutants that are appearing?"
Chu He looked at Scarface and asked.
Scarface smiled bitterly, "Although my Health Points have recovered, I was also attacked by the Fungal Variants earlier."
"According to the game hints, every attack from a Fungal Variant leaves mycelium in the body."
"When the mycelium reaches a certain amount, one will be infected and turn into a Fungal Variant."
"If possible, could you trouble yourself to deal with these Fungal Variants?"
Hearing this, Chu He looked troubled, "According to the Contract, we are working together to clear the game. If you make me do all the work alone, that won't do!"
Scarface was no fool; he immediately took out three hundred Mist Coins.
"Three hundred Mist Coins for every time you take action, how about that?" Scarface asked.
"That's no problem!" Chu He smiled as he accepted the Mist Coins.
To him, no matter how many Fungal Variants there were, they posed no threat.
If it were just him, that would be one thing.
Since he had to bring Scarface along to clear the game, it was only natural to get some benefits.
Fortunately, the other man was a smart person and didn't need him to say much.
"Step back, leave this to me!" Chu He said indifferently.
