"Damn, did you see that internet cafe?"

"Yeah! It’s just that we can only play for one hour a day."

Severin listened to all this with a blank face. Currently, he was sitting in the same place he sat in yesterday’s class.Full novel: My SSS Rank Talent: Infinite Adaption & Evolution — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

’An internet cafe? There’s one?’ He was a bit surprised, but not much. In the game’s setting, the planes weren’t backward but very technologically advanced.

It wasn’t sci-fi, but more like magitech, just like that ball in the gravity training room.

From the corner of his eye, he saw Mira looking at him with slightly guilty eyes. Today, she wasn’t sitting next to him but with Evelyne de Roselle.

He wasn’t surprised a bit about this because it was the same in the game. Evelyne was the first to join her team.

And in the early stages, they could perfectly cover each other’s weak points.

Soon, the class started. The first period wasn’t Gareth’s today but Magic Theory.

At the beginning of the class, he was fully concentrated, using his skill, but soon he stopped. It wasn’t that Magic Theory was boring; in fact, it was a hundred times better than maths, even though it was much more complex.

He simply knew everything.

D’Auremont wasn’t just a joke of a name. Such simple, basic theories had already been taught to him.

Well, in fact, everything taught since yesterday was something he had learned by heart.

Of course, the person teaching in front of him this time was much more experienced, and his methods were both noble and worth learning.

But he simply couldn’t muster that interest. The old Severin probably wouldn’t be like that, right?

He simply laid his head on the desk and glared sideways. Today, a boy with black hair and brown eyes whom he didn’t remember from the game was sitting next to him.

’I’m not going to eat you, dude,’ he complained in his head.

Because the unknown boy had been shivering ever so slightly since sitting down. The most absurd thing was that his classmates were throwing sympathetic glances at him from time to time.

I ask, is there justice in heaven?

Severin suddenly went stiff because what he saw nearly made him turn the table.

The unknown boy took a deep breath. Then he nodded to his classmates with a grateful gaze, as if they were giving him a new source of energy. He slowly stopped shaking and resolutely looked at the old teacher with grey hair.

He did say in his mind to stop shaking, but this...

Truly, ants looking at heaven with discriminating eyes and shouting, ’Justice!’

Just like this, time started to slip. Severin, not wanting to waste time, kept his head down.

But he simply couldn’t sleep.

’Damn this youngster’s body.’

He also cursed at this education system. After all, a human body can only have a peak concentration of twenty minutes. As for where he got this knowledge, don’t ask me; ask Google.

Still, that’s not the point. The point is that huma—

BOOOOM!

An explosion sound came from his right side. Turning, he saw Mira on the other end with a charcoal-covered face, her hair completely messed up.

"Miss Ashford, please don’t try to use magic in class!" the old teacher shouted loudly, causing Mira’s neck to shrink in panic.

At her side, the perfectly fine Evelyne giggled, earning a glare from Mira.

Severin also politely took back his complaint that was never made public.

Soon, it was Gareth’s class. Severin tried to act serious in his class by pretending to take notes. In reality, he was simply making drawings.

But it was of no use. He was even called out to answer, which he did perfectly, and was specially rewarded with double the homework.

Seriously, how can a man be so petty?

Severin made a mental note of this.

Thirty years in the north, thirty in the south, only I am—cough—wrong, wrong quote.

After that, his class ended, and the last teacher of the day came immediately.

He had to say, no matter how strong one’s body became, in front of a maths equation, he still had to obediently sleep.

Just like that, with a pleasant ~ring~ring~ring~, he woke up.

One thing he had to praise about this academy was that the teachers here were very professional. The moment the bell rang, they stopped speaking and left the class without any chit-chat. Of course, with the sole exception of Gareth Hale.

Walking alone along the path towards his food haven, Severin’s shoulder was suddenly tapped.

He curiously stopped and turned around to see which expert had been so silent as to sneak up on him.

It was a girl with red hair and blue eyes, with a delicate face that had a bit of baby fat, making her look cute. Her height was about the same as his.

She was looking at him with a gentle and excited smile.

"Huh? Seraphina, why are you sneaking up on me?"

The moment he said these words, the girl’s smile slowly faded, and she looked at Severin with a blank face before saying,

"Ren... after just a few years, do you find me a stranger?"

Her face was blank, showing no emotion, but Severin could hear the pain hidden within those neutral words.

Seraphina Valemont, heir to House Valemont, a Marquess noble house in Tharavell, just like Lucian Everhart.

They were both childhood friends of Severin D’Auremont. Though he didn’t know how much of that friendship still remained between them, Severin was certain that his friendship with Seraphina was still solid.

So, he quickly corrected his mistake.

"Of course not, Sera. I was just surprised, that’s all," he said in a casual tone.

Seraphina, hearing him call her that, suddenly smiled, her face brighter than before.

"Oh! Were you going to eat? Let’s head there together. It’s my treat."
