He had black hair parted to the side, and it was hard to tell if his morbidly pale complexion was natural or the result of makeup. Beneath his thick eyebrows, his almond-shaped eyes and slightly furrowed brow gave him a pitiful look. There was a scrape across the bridge of his nose and a bandage on his cheek, with some wounds seemingly left uncovered. There even appeared to be traces of blood at the corner of his mouth. Bathed in the dim, yellow light behind him, his eyes brimmed with tears, making him look as if he were on the verge of crying.
"Female Master, I want to be by your side right now," Xuanshuo said, his tearful, youthful voice sounding crisp and clear.
Gu Weilan pursed her lips and immediately put on an expression of utter heartbreak. "Take your time to recover from your injuries. Don’t rush."
However, a flash of arrogance and calculation casually darted across Xuanshuo’s brown eyes as he spoke. "Female Master, if only I had Star Coins, then I could buy a ticket and go to your side immediately!"
Leaning back on the sofa, Gu Weilan nodded. "Don’t worry, you’ll have them. As long as you work hard enough, you will have everything."
Xuanshuo choked on his words, realizing that Gu Weilan was completely oblivious to his hints. But her eyes were so full of sincerity that he couldn’t figure out if she was just an incredible actor pretending not to understand, or if she was genuinely not smart enough to catch his drift.

"Stop right there!" Seeding suddenly chimed in. "Seeding is not an idiot. This guy seems to genuinely want to scam you out of your money. His family is filthy rich! They are the largest shareholders of Chenguang Pharmaceutical! The nutritional fluids you drank before are also controlled by his family!"
"You knew the information of all the matches, so why didn’t you tell me?" Gu Weilan asked in her mind.
"Figure it out yourself, Host!" Seeding retorted. "You are here to complete tasks. If I told you all their information, there wouldn’t be any fun left!
"Seeding kept quiet to promote the fun and to test the trust between you all!
"Do you like having the answers chewed up and spoon-fed to you? I know you don’t. Anyway, Seeding is going to get busy!"
After saying this, the system vanished at the speed of light.
Gu Weilan didn’t care. She figured she would just accept her circumstances and make the best of it. To be honest, this interstellar beast world was much safer than the Apocalypse she had lived in before, and there was actual food to eat! She was already coming out way ahead!
"Female Master, who are you thinking about? How can you zone out while on a video call with me?" Xuanshuo pouted slightly, his brown eyes looking at Gu Weilan pitifully.
Gu Weilan smiled faintly. "I wasn’t thinking about anyone else. I was just thinking about my first day of school today. I noticed there were very few people attending class in person. After all, how could someone completely unfamiliar with a certain social class know the exact price of its luxury items?
Xuanshuo’s heart skipped a beat, and he hurriedly feigned composure. "Female Master needs to study hard! If you get good grades, maybe our future cubs will have a chance to attend a private school. Unlike me—I don’t have much money, and I’ve never even been to university."
