Zhan Heng sighed and let out a grunt in the beast language, taking it as an agreement. However, his meaning was clear: he would only help Xie Jing if Gu Weilan wasn’t repulsed by him.
Xie Jing took a deep breath. He felt that Zhan Heng valued the Female Master a little too much—even more than his own blood brother. This made him feel rather conflicted. On one hand, he hoped that the female Gu Weilan was worthy of such high regard from Zhan Heng. On the other hand, comparing Zhan Heng’s attitude towards her with his own, he felt he had absolutely zero chance of winning her over!
The only thing worth mentioning was that, in this massive villa, he was the only Beast Husband capable of maintaining his Beastman Form. This was his sole capital to win back the female Gu Weilan! He could only hope that she was someone who appreciated good looks.
When Gu Weilan woke up, she looked at Zhan Heng in her arms, feeling a bit dazed for a moment. She kissed the Mo Qilin’s head. As soon as she turned to get up, she saw Xie Jing, wearing nothing but a silk bathrobe, operating his Light Brain.
Gu Weilan’s mouth parted slightly, surprised by Xie Jing’s fiery red hair. She felt like she had seen it somewhere before! Wasn’t this the stunning face she saw right before she fainted the first time?
Finishing up the tasks at hand, Xie Jing couldn’t help but ask under Gu Weilan’s gaze, "How is it? Do you like what you see?"
He had deliberately brought out the internal affairs of the Dolphin Clan to process, just so the female Gu Weilan could see his focused and serious demeanor. After all, he had searched the Star Network, and many male Beastmen claimed that females loved watching males work intently. Therefore, Xie Jing let Gu Weilan stare at him for a full fifteen seconds before speaking up just as she was about to get up.
Gu Weilan pursed her lips. Looking at Xie Jing’s face head-on, she grew even more certain of her guess. She asked for the answer directly. "So, during the first time I gave you soothing treatment, right before I fainted, I saw you. Am I right?"
Xie Jing rested his left elbow on the armrest of the sofa. His index finger rested against his left cheek, while his other three long, powerful fingers curled halfway against his jaw. He sat languidly, leaning back into the cushions. Seeing his open bathrobe, Gu Weilan immediately averted her gaze.
Xie Jing, however, curled his lips into a smirk. He wondered if the female Gu Weilan was feeling a bit shy.
Gu Weilan stood up, not forgetting to pick up Zhan Heng. She wanted to make it clear to Xie Jing that she already had a Beast Husband! Even though she had just seen Xie Jing’s broad chest, his tight eight-pack, and his premium physique, she wouldn’t covet another’s Beastman! In her eyes, anyone who explicitly dissolved their match with her was just another female’s Beast Husband.
Seeing Gu Weilan in a hurry to leave, Xie Jing quickly spoke up. "Perhaps. I always thought you had completely blacked out and wouldn’t remember."

Xie Jing pursed his lips. Looking somewhat troubled, he asked, "Could we wait a little longer? The Beastmen who are hunting us haven’t been caught yet. If I were to return to Planet ZG9500 by myself right now, I’d likely be assassinated and die a gruesome death."
Gu Weilan raised an eyebrow at him. "Do you think I’m that easy to fool? I can allow you to keep staying here to evade your pursuers, but that doesn’t conflict with you clicking the confirm button to unmatch. To think you’d even try to say things to soften my heart and confuse me." She put Zhan Heng down, turned on her heel, and left Xie Jing’s room.
Xie Jing pinched the bridge of his nose. He was truly out of ideas. The female Gu Weilan had seen right through his little trick, and now he regretted it to death.
Zhan Heng didn’t even have time to scold his stupid brother. He hurriedly followed Gu Weilan, wanting to stay by her side and keep her from being angry. Unfortunately, Gu Weilan ignored Zhan Heng completely, even assuming that he and Xie Jing were in cahoots.
Staring at the door that Gu Weilan had shut in her displaced anger, a hint of grievance could actually be seen on Zhan Heng’s pitch-black Qilin face.
Shi Lingfeng walked over to Gu Weilan’s bedroom door on his short little Gray Wolf cub legs. Seeing Zhan Heng sitting there, he couldn’t help but raise a brow and chuckle lightly. "Oh? Did you incur the Female Master’s disgust?"
Zhan Heng cast a glance at Shi Lingfeng with his blood-red eyes. After a moment of thought, he scoffed in the beast language. "To think that the renowned crown prince of the military munitions empire would be schemed against by his own blood siblings to such a miserable state."
Shi Lingfeng’s blue-black eyes, as beautiful as a Ragdoll cat’s, looked at Zhan Heng. He instantly understood the purpose behind Zhan Heng’s provocation. Beastmen were far easier to enrage when in their beast forms. Did Zhan Heng want to provoke him into attacking, thereby winning the Female Master’s sympathy?
"What a scheming male Beastman!" Shi Lingfeng thought. Returning the favor, he curled his wolf lips into a sneer. "Your Nutritionist Brand Nutrient Group is about to be squeezed out of the market by other nutrient brands, isn’t it? Nutrient formulas go missing every year. Aren’t you worse off than me?"
Zhan Heng took a deep breath. Sprawling out in front of Gu Weilan’s bedroom door, he began whining and tapping his head against the door.
Shi Lingfeng’s eyes widened slightly. Resting his chin on his front paws, he chuckled softly. "Do you think the Female Master will come out to see you just because you whine a little? How could she be coaxed that easily?"
Gu Weilan pulled the door open, staring down at Zhan Heng from above.
Shi Lingfeng gaped, feeling like he had matched with an absolute treasure! The Female Master actually opened the door just because Zhan Heng was whining! He knew how to whine too! And he sounded much better doing it!
"I need to hurry up and recover my Beastman Form so I can form a bond and complete the Engraving with the Female Master!" he thought.
Zhan Heng reached his front paws out toward Gu Weilan, standing on his two hind legs as he acted cute, silently demanding a hug.
Shi Lingfeng chuckled lightly. To the outside world, Zhan Heng always portrayed the image of an absolute, domineering tyrant! He couldn’t possibly think that acting cute would guarantee the Female Master’s attention, right? However, to his utter astonishment, Gu Weilan actually fell for Zhan Heng’s adorable act!
Gu Weilan scooped Zhan Heng up with both hands. Staring into his red eyes, she said, "If I find out that you and Xie Jing are scheming against me together, you’re dead!"
Zhan Heng shook his head and immediately raised his right paw in a swearing gesture.
Gu Weilan couldn’t help but smile. As she turned back into the room, Shi Lingfeng took the opportunity to slip inside alongside them.
