Upon hearing this, Yu Yue’er let out a cry of disbelief.

But the moment she realized what had just slipped from her mouth, she hurriedly snapped it shut.

You clearly saw me steal the meat?

Or did you plant the meat in my room, which is why you were so certain the stolen goods would be found there?” The smile on Su Cha’s lips grew even more radiant as she spoke in a coaxing tone.

Everyone else turned their gazes toward Yu Yue’er.

“Stop spouting nonsense!

I clearly heard Yang Ying say that you stole from the storehouse.

Besides, the Dog Beastmen already confirmed there was a Snake Beastman’s scent inside.

If it wasn’t you, it was that piece of trash in your house!

You two must have been afraid of getting caught and hid the stolen goods somewhere else!” Yu Yue’er shrieked, springing up like a cat whose tail had been stepped on as she pointed at Cang Yuan standing behind Su Cha.

Su Cha let out a soft chuckle, too lazy to argue with an idiot.

She knew that if the villain really wanted to steal something, he wouldn’t let anyone find out.

Aside from his formidable strength, Cang Yuan’s stealth abilities were unmatched in the entire Beast World.

There was no way he would leave a scent behind to be discovered.

“I passed by the storehouse yesterday while getting medicine from the Witch Doctor,” Cang Yuan’s voice was light and indifferent, devoid of any emotion.

“You are the only Snake Beastman in our tribe, and the Dog Beastmen did indeed smell the unique scent of a snake beast inside the storehouse,” the Clan Leader said.

He intentionally paused, waiting for Cang Yuan to explain.

Cang Yuan looked up, his eyes meeting Su Cha’s leisurely and composed gaze.

After a brief moment of surprise, his expression settled back into its usual aloof disgust.

They waited for quite a while, but he said nothing.

“See?

I told you it was them!

Clan Leader, hurry up and have someone arrest the two of them!” Seeing that Cang Yuan had no explanation, Yu Yue’er immediately became smug again.

The Clan Leader fell silent for a moment before finally saying, “Since you have nothing to say for yourself, Cang Yuan, then…”

“Wait, I have something to say.” Su Cha’s voice interrupted the Clan Leader.

“However, Clan Leader, I need to speak with you in private.”

Saying so, she leaned in close to Mo Nian’s ear and whispered a very short sentence.

The crowd watched as the Clan Leader’s eyes slightly widened in surprise before his expression turned grave.

Then, the Clan Leader turned to Yang Ying.

“Did you truly see Su Cha and Cang Yuan steal the Dragon Beast Meat?

Beastmen who lie will be punished.”

Sensing things were taking a bad turn, Yu Yue’er immediately spoke up.

“Clan Leader!

Yang Ying…”

“I am asking Yang Ying, so keep your mouth shut.” The Clan Leader sternly silenced the clamoring Yu Yue’er.

He then fixed a serious gaze on the timid Yang Ying.

“Speak.”

“I…

I only saw Su Cha near the storehouse.

I didn’t see anything else,” Yang Ying replied in a small voice.

“Didn’t you say earlier that you saw Su Cha coming out of the storehouse with your own eyes?” Yu Yue’er angrily yanked Yang Ying toward her.

Su Cha stepped forward, pulling Yu Yue’er away and shielding Yang Ying behind her.

“Why are you getting so worked up?

Could it be that you stole the Dragon Beast Meat and flew into a defensive rage because you couldn’t frame anyone for it?

Or perhaps you’re covering for the real culprit?

She must be very close to you, right?”

Those words sent a sudden jolt of panic through Yu Yue’er’s heart.

She immediately denied it, “How is that possible?

Stop spouting garbage, you useless piece of trash.”

At that moment, the Clan Leader cast an unreadable glance at Yu Yue’er before announcing, “Neither Su Cha nor Cang Yuan stole the meat.

Everyone, leave.

We will discuss this matter later.”

Seeing the Clan Leader speak so decisively, the crowd swallowed their doubts and said nothing more.

Yu Yue’er immediately let out a sigh of relief.

Unfortunately, before she could even fully exhale, a voice rang out, striking her heart like a sudden crack of thunder.

“There is absolutely no way Yunxi would do such a thing!

Su Cha, you can’t just falsely accuse people without cause.

If you don’t believe me, the Clan Leader can bring people over to search her place, too.”

Before Su Cha could even add fuel to the fire, Mo Ze had already fanned the flames himself.

Stifling a laugh, Su Cha replied, “Then, Clan Leader, please take some people to inspect their places.

Make sure to check under the beds and beneath the floorboards—anywhere things can be hidden—to properly prove their innocence.”

“Su Cha, you can’t just target Xi’er at every turn because of our personal grudge.

We—”

“Stop.

Get out of my face right now.” Su Cha cut him off with a look of pure disgust.

She really couldn’t stand Mo Ze’s lukewarm, hesitant attitude.

She figured if he had just been a bit more resolute and ruthless toward the original owner of her body instead of spouting so much nonsense, she might have actually respected him.

The large group marched mightily toward Yu Yue’er and Yunxi’s residences.

As for Yu Yue’er herself, she trailed mechanically at the very back of the procession like she had lost her soul.

Unsurprisingly, the unfinished portion of the Dragon Beast Meat was discovered in a hidden underground hole in Yu Yue’er’s room.

There was nothing in Yunxi’s room.

This didn’t surprise Su Cha in the slightest.

Yunxi was a cautious person; even if she had been involved, she would have washed her hands clean of the matter.

Su Cha showed absolutely no mercy.

In the end, Yu Yue’er and her male companions each received thirty lashes and were forced to publicly apologize to Su Cha on the spot.

Seeing Yu Yue’er gnashing her teeth and glaring daggers at her, Su Cha didn’t feel an ounce of sympathy.

In fact, she even felt a secret sense of satisfaction.

Finally, she walked away gracefully, leaving Mo Ze behind with a complex expression on his face.

As she neared her home, she spotted Yang Ying waiting by the door from a distance.

Yang Ying saw her, too.

A flash of pleasant surprise crossed her eyes, only to gradually dim into gloominess.

Su Cha walked up to Yang Ying and simply stared at her quietly, not saying a word.

Yang Ying stammered for a long time before suddenly dropping to her knees with a loud THUD, giving Su Cha a start.
